a-combo is faster.
he's heavier.
air-dodge changed back to normal.
side-taunt: he spins his head 360 degrees.
grab: he launches his hand off after you.
f-throw: his hand flies off while holding you. Then his hand explodes.

Up B: rocket shoes boost upward

Up air: Warp fist-Opponent needs to DI, and they control which way to go
Forward Air: a downward slice that spikes
Neutral Air: Spins around and zaps people.
Back Air: super kick with sweetspot.

Dash: He floats, like the classic Metal Sonic always does.

Down Taunt changed!



Final Smash: got the idea from Sanitys Thief and this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJadBhmxVmQ).
basically, he goes into a big, spiked ball of doom and flies forward, destroying victims he hits. you can end it early by pressing A.

grab attack (don't really know what to call it): zaps them
down-throw: slams tham into the ground and shocks them

Up taunt changed!

He takes out his "claws", like Wolverine. He keeps them until you use the down-taunt
It changes some moves now.
-forward smash: double hit combo-swipe to uppercut
-side-tilt: triple hit combo-two punches to an uppercut
-forward air: a flying punch
-down smash- a spinning slice


To change his moves back to normal, use the down-taunt.

Ooh. Nice. There are already a few very good metal sonic textures that could go with this. Onl thing is, you should try to fix the sweetspot. Set it sonic's foot, and use x or y offsets as needed.

I ain't good enough. I took snapshots, but couldn't find where to convert them into .imgs or .jpegs or whatever. Someone got the stuff to make a video? I really need it.

Tried that...didn't work--oddly.
But I balanced and fixed a TON of attacks with V.0.2.

You just go into the folder that it saves your snapshots in (AL) and then convert them to a jpeg and save them.

Also, I played around with Metal Sonic a bit... his moves are too landing lagless. I got Wario up from 0-140 without breaking a sweat... then the game froze. SOmehow I suspect that has to do with dying while air dodging and leaving that holographic image behind.

Alright I tried out the new version, it's cool but there's still some issues:

-uptilt, there's still no knockback growth, the attack won't kill even at 999%, also, one of the hitboxes still has the same knockback as before meaning the infinite is still very doable

-the first hitbox on the upair, it's knockback growth is too slow, you can short hop upairs for an infinite until around like 300%

-Backair is still way too easy to hit with the sweetspot, I never miss, I actually don't think you can, again automatic kill on heavy characters at 100%, just make the sweetspot hitbox smaller and harder to hit with

-some graphic effects on neutral B would make it better, maybe some electricity on the ground or something so we kinda know what he's doing, other than that it's fine

-graphics for the upB are on the wrong side, the fire effects come out in front of him but I'm guessing they should be coming out of the back

-DownB in the air, it's not that bad but it's pretty useless/looks weird, let me help, how about giving it less vertical distance, that is, make it not shoot down as far, give it larger graphics that shoot out to the side too, give it some horizontal range, and make it so it doesn't make him pause in midair for combo ability

i think you should change his down b to a beam like attack. use the animation where he goes super sonic and make the beam look like its coming out of his chest add charge lvl too

It needs work... I'm not sure what, but it needs work. Perhaps less emphasis on the boots. all of his specials use his boots, Metal Sonic has other abilities too! This seems really cool though! It's not just tweaked moves with taunts that spawn items like the popular Shadow moveset.

Fixed almost ALL o' that. i forgot to make neutral B visible.
V.0.3 is UP!

EDIT: Put a new V.0.3 link with fixed neutral B graphics.

also i think you should make it so that instead of the running animation you should make it look like hes flying on the floor i think sonics FS should give you that animation

i tried to make him float. Look at V.0.1. it was too glitchy. i could do it if someone tells me how to fix it.

-DownB-ground.... what the hell is that? He shoots out a very tiny string of fireballs forward in a straight line, it's just useless no offense, can you make him shoot out sheik's needles to make it seem like bullets? THis attack just needs to be changed

You're ALMOST there, don't give up on this  :)

i got it off of Youko's texture pack. i don't know if the actual texture is given separately.

i just changed the down B to a suckish laser-like thing to tell OverlordLaharl happy for a brief moment. i actually have two sourspots for the back air, but they never work. and i thought the up B graphics were on the right side now. i'll change his down B, but i don't know how to make sonic have sheik's bullets. i'll just do something...

ok got the V.0.5 up.

its got a laser for the A move (not a combo anymore)

down B on ground is he slams his fist into the ground and pumps out electricity

down taunt changed

up taunt changed:
i just felt like honoring Wolverine, so sonic gets two "claws" that come out of his hands and stay until he dies. if u don't like it, don't do the up taunt. i think its cool. however, it affects no hitboxes or moves. i don't really know what to do with it.

back air sweetspot fixed

first hit of down air removed-if i gave it more knockback, its almost impossible to hit the second hit with.

Ok this update is FULL of AWESOMENESS, few things to fix, btw neutral A laser is awesome and balanced good job and DownB is awesome idea ;), so here's the few changes needed:

-UpB graphics,there's a very strange glitch with them, the closer you are to the middle of a stage, the closer that one graphic that makes it look like the fire is propelling forward is to Metal Sonic, however when you go further from the middle that one graphic will either come out higher and higher until it gets in front of Sonic's face, or it will be far beneath the stage depending on which way you are facing

-DownB is awesome, it would be better if you could charge it to increase the range and damage, but I believe you said you don't know how to do that, so in this case, just increase the range a little and give it faster knockback growth, the knockback grows far too slow the way it is, don't make this a killing move by any means, just make the knockback grow a little faster and increase the range a little on both sides

-SideB, give it a little knockback, as it is now it can easily be interrupted when hitting an opponent with it

-Decrease the knockback on the upB, it's too strong it kills heavies at an edge around 120%

-DownB-air, give it some knockback, make it spike but not a hard spike, think Captain Falcon's down-air in terms of knockback and knockback growth

-Backair is much better, BUT there's one or two hitboxes that come out AFTER the kick has passed the area, one of which is the sweetspot, those hitboxes whould be weak or just not exist, THERE IS a sweetspot hit when the kick connects WHICH IS PERFECT, it's just those 2 after the kick passes the area, I think deleting the hitboxes after a certain timeframe would help if that's possible

but i can fix everything up soon.

what about the up taunt?
i know its ridiculous, but its cool.

WAIT MY BAD, down B-air DOES SPIKE!!!, but when you hit a standing enemy on the ground they just flinch a little instead of being knock down very quick then up like other character's spikes do

Also uptaunt is pretty cool :kdance:, any way to incorporate those blades in increasing range and changing the statistics for attacks, actually nevermind that's way too advanced, they're cool just leave it at that :af2:

Could you make them pointed at the ends though to make them look like spikes?

MY BAD AGAIN!! :af2:, the characters DO move up when hitting a standing character on the ground with DownB-Air, they just need to be around 50% for it to start doing that, any way to have that happen JUST A LITTLE SOONER(around 20 or 30%) WITHOUT increasing damage? Maybe something with knockback growth?

no, sorry, i cannot. they're graphic effects, and i can't edit those...

i could do that! however, i will not be able to reverse the effect once he dies. or is there a dying animation? does anyone know how to clear variables when you die? or else i can't do it.

anyway, i'm almost done fixing him.

As in, when he does the frontflip, as his feet start facing forward, change the graphics maybe to like R.O.B.'s backair and make it a sweetspot hit

Actually one more thing:

-DownB on the ground and neutral B on the ground are too similar now, for ground B, could you make it like a quick static shock that shoots all around metal sonic and stuns enemy's like Zero Suit Samus' paralyzer gun? And give this attack the range of about one of Link sword swipes. And give it some cool electric graphics. Now for neutral B in the air, LEAVE THIS THE SAME, it's pretty cool, and paralyzing an opponent in mid-air wouldn't allow for follow ups really, just make the hitboxes come out earlier in the animation

i can see you mentioned ROB's graphics alot. i can't take graphics specified to a character. and for the Down B's range being vertical, i accidentally mixed the x and y offsets, so i fixed it.

The FitSonicMotionEtc.pac has the floating standing animation, but it curls his spikes up so I suggest against it. The FitSonic.pac has dash animations, but you'd have to extract them and apply them to your character yourself.

-Got the MotionPac for the floating dash (u have to press down to brake).

Alright, tried new version and it's very good, still needs a few changes:

I know it's not technically Metal Sonic, but how about making him do a spin attack like this?

Could it work with something like those green lazers you have on his uptaunt?

Then have metal sonic charge up for like half a second with all electricity shooting around him, and then have him shoot forward at a very fast speed in an electric bladed rolling ball of death.

Have it so he goes about the length of Final Destination, and when he hits an enemy, they get trapped in that hellish spinning vortex(kinda like how someone gets trapped in Luigi's DownB move) as he keeps rolling getting hurt as he goes and when Metal Sonic reaches the end of his spin, he lets out a big burst of flaming electricity and sends the enemies flying.

Just a thought, is it possible?

OK...got everything done but the final smash.

final smash works beautifully, except at the beginning Sonic warps in the middle of the stage and doesn't move.
i didn't put in anything out of the ordinary...anyone know what's wrong?

or should i just release him now?

meh. your blades are too long to be non-swords. I like the fact that he used something that was never INTENDED to be used as a blade. But perhaps the 'claws' could be slightly longer so they don't look as wierd when he does his neutral air.

You've probably noticed this already, but:

After withdrawing the claws, if you die, the graphics go away, but the move changes stay.
So there's no way of reverting back to the original play-style.

Not sure if that's just a glitch, or purposely done.

Besides that, I adore the character.
Metal is, and has always been, my favorite "Sonic" character~
(And not any of those cheap knock-offs, Like "Mecha" or "Metal-Overlord")

Stuff was fixed. V1.3 is up!

The Down B now looks more accurate and manly.
The A combo is actually a combo.
The claws stay on even after death, and are successfully removed with the down-taunt.

He has a real A combo,
The Down B has more lag (so you can't repeat it in rapid succession)
the up-smash has more base knockback (so you can't chain it)
superspicy curry auto-kills you instead of freezing the game.

here's the changes:

down-taunt changed.
a-combo is faster.
he's heavier.
air-dodge changed back to normal.
side-taunt: he spins his head 360 degrees.
grab: he launches his hand off after you.
f-throw: his hand flies off while holding you. Then his hand explodes.
you'll need the new MotionPac.

and I just tested this one out, and the Up+B doesnt seem to help sonic much. maybe making it a big higher might help, i'm not sure. but you did a good job on this psa =]

it's not mediafire, it's just that the links are badly named
so yeah, you might want to check on that

Yeah, the links somehow just became fail.
However, I copy/pasted the link's URL into the address bar instead of clicking on it, and it works.

The Up B seems good enough...

yeah, i was going to edit my post today because i tested it more yesterday and it seems to work good enough. and seems to work well as one of his K.O. moves as well, since i find it a bit more difficult to K.O. with his other moves.

his jumps are kinda useless. he shouldn't be as heavy as he is, think about when he actually gets metal. he couldn't jump at all!

Is there a chance that you can just get the stationary float and the floating dash to be in the motion pac by any chance? I have the metal sonic texture but i don't want to use the moveset, just have the float and dash looks.
