SICK would it be possible to put 2 chracter selects on one menu like Mr.L then Luigi is beside him

Currently, no. The file name is the same for both icons, so you'd replace both.

It's just a texture hack, not something crazy.  I've done this before with Mewtwo instead of Lucario.  You can change a lot of stuff, including the Brawl logo, the character icons, and the hand.

I've actually been meaning to do this for a while.  Could someone send me the files required for this (I forget which one it is)?  Also, where does it go on the SD?

STUFF2o, have you edited the title screen?

File replacement code can't do that yet.

Currently it can only do

fighter
system
sounds
and stage

The title goes in menu2

For some reason the menus go in system.

Since when did you need the File Replacement code to edit the title screen? <_<

It can't load it, and it doesn't load everything in Menu.

EDIT: It also loads the info folder, some of the menu2, and info2 folders, the toy folder, and item folder.

Phantom Wings clearly said when File Patch 2.1 was released, that it was designed to load EVERYTHING from the Partition folder, but apparently, it could load most, and not all.

I've made a texture for it, but the SD Loader can't load it, so I have no clue if it works. But, if there's anybody here who burns ISO's that would like to test it, I can send them a download.

I told you in your thread that I offered to test it for you via .iso burned, but you never responded.

D'OH! I never saw that... I'll PM it to you. Can you take screenshots?

SD loader works with it. The path was posted in Dantarion's video a few weeks ago. It's something wierd, like pfmenu/whatever.

I posted a link to the video Dantarion posted, and the working path for ALL menu2 files was posted in the video description. Since wii can't copy/paste, head back over to the help section and look in that thread asking about the title screen and the SD loader. Mu_menumain works with it too.

Hmm... where exactly is this post? I can't find it.

In the Help subforum, on the second page look for a topic titled, "The Title screen, is it hackable with SD loader?"

You made the topic actually.

I was looking on Smashboards.
>.>
It still doesn't work for me.  It just has a silent freeze on the black screen after the Loading screen.

Title: Re: Menu Editing

Well, Dantarion got mu_menumain.pac to work with that, so I assume it might be the texture itself. Test it by putting the original title screen file in there and see if the game treats it normally.

What did you use to edit it?

Does anyone know of a font that looks similar tot he character box text and the bigger character text?

Also, common5.pac goes in system, right?  My edit isn't doing anything. >.>

Why did you change Link's texture format for the icon on the CSS?

Even though CMPR fucks things up, you're not suppose to change it. Anyway, I'll hex it in for you so the quality won't fuck up.

Title: Re: Menu Editing
Post by: Gazoinks on November 07, 2009, 11:03:30 AM
Ah, hm, that must've been it.  Thanks. ^^

Yeah, CMPR screwed up the picture so I imported it as another format and then tried to to change it.  Is there a way of not hexing a CMPR but still preserves the picture quality?

No, none that I know of.

Man, that really stinks.  *Goes off to mope in corner*

So was Untouch's edit not screwed up because the Mr. L illustration doesn't have many colors?

I bet you it's messed up too, but it doesn't look like it is.

EDIT: And even if you got the file format wrong, I believe it it would freeze at the Strap loader, but anyway, try this.

It's still not doing anything.  I have it in pf>system and I have the patcher 3.5, so I have no idea what the problem is.

Strange, I'll test it, and come back with results.

Alright, it works for me somehow. Why is it that the common files aren't working for some people? <_<

Anyway, I took pics.

My common5.pac works fine with the SD loader when I do that sort of stuff to it.

HINT: I used SmashBox (before it was renamed to BrawlBox).

And Shadow, did you test my title screen?

Woops, I forgot to make the tile say Zero. DX

I wonder why it's not working...  I used BrawlBox, I don't know if it'd make a difference with SB.

Yes, and after the loading, it went to a black screen.

SB won't make a difference.

Oh, oh, ooooh.  I wonder if it's because I have a custom CSS?  That might explain it.

No, I use the Brawl+ CSS and my edits worked fine.  Unless you're using PW's CSS GUI, in which case your common5 won't work.

@Shadow
That's what happened to me, too.  At least I know that I put it in the right place now.  Any idea what I did wrong?

No idea. You can ask Moosehunter, he might help you.

No, that was definitely it.  I was loading a selcharacter pac that was made in the CSS loader and that one was unedited.

EDIT: Yep.  Now, instead of doing nothing it freezes. ^^"
