ok im going to make a stage thread and post all my stages im going to import to brawl, comment of what you think of them

Anyway, this was my favorite battle stage in the game, so that's pretty cool

awesome idea for a stage I must say.
Are you including the platforms above the starting positions (in MK64 anyways)? I realize the preview is from 3dsmax, but I don't know if they're simply not visible, or if they're eliminated due to an importing problem or something else.

yeah u cant see them good in the pic because there black but i will have it from side to side where you can get on top of them

This won't be a walk-off, will it? Or, if it is, will the fighting take place at the center at the very least?

Also, there needs to be karts driving around in the background.

i was going to fight from left to right and the middle where the circle is you fall but idk what it will be  but adding the karts would be awesome i may do 2 versions of that one with and one without but i will need help the karts

Nice, great import! I hope it's a walk-off. Did you actually import it from Mario Kart 64? Or perhaps something else?

i got it off of a website and i got it working in brawl its the same size as Final Destination but im thinking about making it bigger because the brawl characters are huge in that stage

the first pic is what the mario kart 64 was like with the camera

and the second pic is how tall the brawl characters are.

and in the third pic is what brawl is with the camera

and as you see the starting points from mario kart are weird so i may get rid of them 

Looks really good! Yeah, the characters look big. Just enlarge the stage until it's normal size. Doesn't matter if it's walk-off, though I do have a suggestion to make it fall-off.

You're right. Collisions in the beginning of creating a stage are quite ridiculous, sometimes a pain in the ass xD

Yeah you should. It would likely make it better. If that's a hole in the center of the stage, then that would make it better than a walk-off.

yeah it may be a while before i finish or start them busy with other stuff or hacks but the mario gondola is almost done im making a separate  stage for it  nothing too fancy.

hey guys the mario gondola is 90% done just need to fix the lighting and other small stuff

well im like 90% done with the gondola and 95% with the skyscraper stage

i changed the skyscraper stage the entrance tunnel was like not working out os i took it out


but other then that i think it looks awesome just need to fix the lighting and the death boundary's

thanks the death boundary's is where the  walk ways are i may keep it like that or make it a little bigger  also how dark was that stage in the original game its been along time

also should i have karts driving in the back ground or what if possable

it'd be very nice if you had karts racing around it =)
but don't push your self too hard with it,
if you want to do it, then do it,
or unless you could do multiple versions
(one with karts, one without)

also, the lightning isn't very dark,
what you got is great =)

if you don't know how to add them you could ask someone to help you with it

Since he's always the one to have bad luck in the Mario series. If you're having karts animated, I thought it would be amusing if Luigi would get hit off the side, and since players respawn in Mario Kart, it wouldn't be strange if it looped.

yeah it does but when i tryed to make it bigger it just messed up the stage but when i play it in brawl the stage looks fine maby if i make it a little bigger the it should be fine

I'd say do a whole buch of areas, like Mewtwo2000 did with SM64 Peach's Castle. It's the best way to please everyone. :)

A small present for you. I've seen that your Skyscraper stage didn't cast shadows, so I've made a custom shadow model for you. I've also fixed some small texture thingy with the grid, and ported it so it works over both STGKART and STGFINAL. Also, both collision files are in the same file, so moving them up/down make you switch between hole and no hole versions. So you can build those 2 versions by just moving those nodes inside.

The shadows look like this:

Maybe you could do one on the bridge going from the chain chomp to the next part of the level. You could even make it as if it's a teeter-totter like in the game.:)

It's pretty much done, the textures need to be fixed a little and then it will be finished.

yeah the model is riged and everthing just some of the textures are weird no matter what i do but yeah its like i would say maby 75%

yeah the kame house is going to be my hardest stage just because it has a lot of stuff in the stage lol but all i have to do is fix the pipe color then its fixd on the Pipe Plaza

Definitely Daisy Cruiser. My favorite Mario character (I solely use her in any sports game, maybe another character) and cruise ships rock. I assume the fight would take place around the pool area? At least, I hope so. I love that spot. I wish I could sit there and chill, but I gotta race to win, yo.

I'd say put it over Pirate ship. :P maybe fight on the front of the ship, so you can still meteor smash off the edge. ;D

Ugh, numerous fixes are needed. I'd suggest remaking the environment. The fog causes an un-necessary blue shade on the ship, but if you tried to remove the fog, the ocean would appear grey. The water effects also remained in place when moving the model down, so I'd suggest importing it over final destination then providing a .rel to port it over Pirate Ship. Also, make sure you place it in a position that doesn't allow the models to get in the way of the camera.

Then there are simple fixes I needed to complete, like transparency.

If you make Daisy Cruiser, you should make it take place by the pool so you can fight or go for a swim if you want to :P

Honestly, the Island one needs improvements because you grab every single ledge on the stage (i.e: every block) and the house one is just wayyyy too dinky.

As for feedback:

Baby Park is nice. Of course there's no real way to make it not a walk-off, but the size of the stage makes up for it. Only thing would be adding some animation with karts, kind of spice it up. It's beautiful nonetheless.

Luigi's Mansion is pretty cool  as well. The short boundaries can be a slight turn off, and the ceiling can be considered a little low, but the stage itself is very fun. Only thing would be to make the boundaries a little wider - the second you're off the main stage, you're dead.

yeah i know the stage is way to small for brawl but baby park the only thing left is the shadows

I wouldn't call it way too small, just the boundaries are closer than usual stages. It's still solid.

Which is totally fine. I've experienced much smaller stages, and this one is just fine. I don't know about you, but having every stage with Final Destination boundaries can be a little boring.

that baby park has  Final Destination boundaries lol but it goes with it and the luigi mansion doesn't  nor but ill change it also can u make a stage icon and names for the baby  park that would be awesome

By FD boundaries I mean the same platform layout and stuff. I like it when it's a walk-off and wide - encourages more center fighting instead of dying at 15% and whatnot.

And sure, I'll make the SSP stuff for it. I'll handle the Mansion one as well.

Can't you?... I use Riivolution and I have the Stage Expansion with all the custom slots working correctly. They are supposed to work with Riivolution too...

I've attempted to optimize this city escape stage. Unfortunately, it doesn't want to work without freezing. There's 1093 objects, so it's extremely difficult. :srs:

I do, however, want to try a few more things before giving up.

Fusee the objects. the object/polygon count is the main reason.
At least with 541.5 objects should work.
Well not .5 just 540 or something similar.
With 100 youll be better.
If texture is the problem of fusing.
Fusee textures in one big 1024x1024 at least should work.

ok if city escape wont work then ill have to scrap the sa2 stages and get sonic generations city escape will be even worse i guess so ill be taking stage request for now just message me  and link me the stage and ill make it when i have time

Hey Leon, I got a question. Is it possible to make a stage like big blue, where you'd have to run or jump on a moving platform to stay alive? I was thinking that there could be a TRUE final sonic vs shadow that they'd actually have to run. The ShadowKong I have can easily outrun the big blue cars without bunny ears, so i'd have to change sonic & shadow's top speed. lol

So could there be a stage like that, but be perfectly straight with no breaks in the track. Maybe even the pieces of track to the far left breaking off.

I'm pretty sure that 3ds games don't have models. I think they just use really high detailed pixel sprites.

Very nice improvement. Only other adjustment to the stage I'd throw out there is scaling. I felt the characters were too big on the stage itself.

yes the backs ground is wayyy better then last time.

yeah its scaled now to a good size.

i may have item boxs and coins in the back ground of the stage just to make it look nicer and maby some people in karts

ok after my skyscraper v2 stage i may continue my city escape and pumpkin hill stage that i was having problems with.

I don't get why anyone would make a stage not over FD since it can be rel ported to anything. Then again perhaps other stages can too. I'm all too new to this stuff.

I'd say karts. But they don't have to be animated. They can just be parked in the background.

Finally A city escape stage(so much better than radical highway). I was working on one, but it was just a saffron city texture hack.

Update on my SkyScraper V2 almost done!

It looks pretty cool, but that lighting...I feel it should be darker, and less blue.

yeah i was going to see if i can mess with it some more to get it darker but im not all that good with editing the lighting lol

I'm actually more interested in that random stage you made with the desk and room and computer in it. How far along is that stage? What are you going to call it? Is it based off your desk/room?
