Title: Black Out Line working Tutorial (UMVC3,TVC, Okami) Post by: Nasca Corp on August 04, 2012, 08:05:32 PM Hi, this is a tutorial to get the outline works on Brawl Models imports
Important : This works fine with low poly models, works with high poly models, but may be cause lag So Lets start: First than all you need your model totally rigged: (http://img688.imageshack.us/img688/5524/dibujohby.png) Now, clone the polygons that you want to give the effect, in this case i dont want the effect over the ness bat (http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/5207/dibujousv.png) (http://img842.imageshack.us/img842/2430/dibujomqv.png) Now asing a black texture for all new polygons: (http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/1287/dibujoyot.png) Press alt + x and aling the cloned polygons with the original polygons: (http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/3273/dibujorzk.png) Now go to modifier (only with the polygons cloned selected) and return to "edit mesh" in the tab: (http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/5118/dibujokzp.png) If this message appers click on YES (http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/1454/dibujoytjb.png) Now we need to make the cloned polygons more bigger than the original polygons, the space between one and other will be the black line: (http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/9356/dibujouda.png) After finish, in the Edit mesh tab, click on the modiffier and click on "Normals" (http://img35.imageshack.us/img35/6443/dibujoyz.png) And click on "Flip Normals" (http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/1324/dibujogrd.png) Now export as a dae, import on brawl box, preview and..... (http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/3264/dibujoyii.png) And that's all Hope this help someone :D! what about the cull mode in brawlbox for the materials? do we have to set it on cull outside for the "black" polygons? Title: Re: Black Out Line working Tutorial (UMVC3,TVC, Okami) Post by: SmashClash on August 05, 2012, 09:14:52 PM Don't the extra set of polygons in black add more to the model's filesize as a whole? I'd think it'd near doubling it.

it doesnt use double polygons to make the outline but the textures do include a thick black outline and the materials call for the textures to rotate with the camera i have yet to try these shaders out but ill report if they work like black jax mentioned...
