(Note that this video is from an early testing version of the code. It is virtually flawless now.)

Still don't understand what this does? Load textures from your SD card instead of burning new disks!

NOTE: Version 3.5.1 currently only works for an NTSC-U copy of Brawl --- that is --- only if you live in the United States, Mexico, Canada, or additional close region. PAL users must use 2.1, which does not work with music.

1) Place the GCT code file on your SD card in a \codes\ folder

[from PhantomWings] There is a popular rumor (should I say theory?) that repetitively reading from the SD card (which is what this code does for music) can harm the SD card. I am unsure of whether this is the truth or not, so just be aware of the possibility.

3) Place SD card in wii (,duh,)

4) Load up Brawl via Gecko OS

5) Get to character select, select characters, wait for Wii to stop making noise before proceeding to next screen.

6) Enjoy!

There's a track list in my guide, and I just added it to the lists section of this topic.

Also, this thread is all updated with the latest changes, including the PAL code. The GCT files haven't been changed, though.

Here's the File Replacement v2.1a NTSC code for anyone not too comfortable with the newest file replacement code.  It uses 34 lines of code, and is practically flawless with character textures and character portraits.

If PAL users want to do custom textures AND custom portraits, you'll have to rely on File Replacement v1.3 PAL for now.  File Replacement v2.1a PAL causes crashes with the custom portraits.  At least, that's what I've heard.  Using all of the codes shown below (which is required in order to work) will add up to 178 lines of code.

It will be 1 month 2 weeks 7 hours 25 minutes and 47 seconds before there will be a pal version of the replacement code that supports music...great.

I downloaded cheat manager, and i need the PAL code. I copy/pasted just the numbers from the PAL code on notepad and saved as a txt file. Then when i opened up with code manager, nothing happened and it wouldn't let me export as a gct.

Use Code Manager to create new codes and then save it as .txt.

Can someone upload the brawl iso from the main page to a different website from media fire or make it into a zip folder so I dunt gotta do the premium membership just to download it X_X

then what should I use and where can I find it XP I downloaded a few textures to try out but I want to make my own as well. I'm starting with characters/basic texture hacking since I'm new at it, but if I don't have the brawl ISO or at least just the stuff for the characters and stages datawise I can't do anything :s
I also wanna know how to use texture hacks that are already made X_X

Ahh sorry lol So let me get this straight.
To USE texture hacks I need the brawl iso on my memory card or just the data about the textures and stuff for the characters and stages (since that's all I'm really interested in atm) and place the pac and pas files (For the spasific character)in the apropriate folder?
and to make textures I just extract the photos of the characters and modify those with brawlbox on the computer?
PS: sorry for such noobish questions, this's my first time trying texture hacks either way.

to change a name you have to edit two of the textures in the same file your CSPs are in, just go through it until you find the names, you will have to edit both name textures to fully replace someone's name. I forgot which misc datas that they were in though.
