Title: Good Guy Giygas's Stage Thread
Post by: Good Guy Giygas on August 29, 2012, 02:22:19 PM
Hey everyone, I decided to create a stage thread since I'm starting to do more stage hacking. Here i'll post my stages, as well as some previews for some upcoming stages. Hopefully you like them, and I'm hoping to get some feedback on how I can improve too. Thanks!  ;D

ALL MY STAGES INCLUDE SSPs AND BRSTMs!   :)

Released stages:

Brawl Platform [Final Destination]

Just a stage I made to kind of get the hang at stage making and Brawlbox, it's not that great but hey, it's my first stage.

Giygas' Lair (Battle Against Giygas) [75m]

This stage is kind of what I pictured the battle against Giygas to look like if Earthbound was...3D I guess.  :P But yea, I always kind of thought of it as being on a cliff with him floating all around you. I also might update this sometime in the future to add more rubble.

The Final Needle (Battle Against the Masked Man) [Big Blue]

This stage is based on the final battle between Lucas and the Masked Man from Mother 3. Again, this is kind of my interpretation of it, but its really fun to fight on :P

Fire Spring (Earthbound) [Pictochat]

The fiery area deep in a cave where you battle the final Sanctuary Boss, Carbon Dog. Again, this is my 3D representation of it, and I think it looks pretty cool :)

Twoson (Earthbound) [Mario Bros.]

Paula's hometown where you meet Apple Kid and Everdred. Features the Polestar School and the Mach Pizza Shop.

Upcoming Stages
Here are few ideas I'm currently working on. I'm planning on making a few more Earthbound/Mother stages (This is one of my favorite series, if you cant already tell :P ) plus a few others as well.
- Summers (Earthbound)
- Podunk's Abandoned Zoo (Mother 1)
- Gold Leaf Galaxy (Super Mario Galaxy)
- Noki Bay (Super Mario Sunshine)
- Battle Factory
- Plus a few more that I honestly cannot remember for the life of me :P

And here's a sneak peak of my upcoming Summers stage (still very unfinished) :

Feedback is appreciated! ;D

Thanks ItalianStallion, I'm glad you like them :D Right now I'm working on Twoson and it's almost finished. I'm really proud of it so far, but I'm having so weird texture problems that I don't know how to fix, so if anyone would be willing to help, it'd be much appreciated.

I'm not really sure but I have textures that go on 2D models and they look fine in brawlbox, but when i test the stage, they're all glitchy or something ingame. If it helps, here's the stage if you want to take a look:

Glad you like it! Oh yea, I havent fixed spawn points yet, so you'll die right off the bat. But yea, it's the Polestar sign and the pizza sign that get messed up ingame.

2D Model you said? Think I know what the problem might be.

Did you attach every bone on that model to the respective animation on that brres?

I dont play mother, but the stages look well made(basically, I'm quoting IS and saying you've got good potential, etc).

Thanks, and you should play the Mother games, they're one of my favorite games series and theyre great!

@ItalianStallion: I think all the all of the bones are attached to the animation..
@LeonExodio: I deleted the pallettes, do i need to delete the colors folder too? Cuz deleting the pallete didnt seem to work :(

Hey!, I just wanted to say that I love your Fire Spring stage!.
But, it would be cool if you make that stage over Norfair or Brinstar, to make lava come out on the ground sometimes.

@LeonExodio: Be my guest, I really hope it can be fixed because I really like the stage so far D:

@GanonZack: I'm glad you like it! I was actually thinking about making a Norfair version at some point once I get better at making stages.

Yo I don't know what was wrong with the models you had, but I got you brand new ones, and I had to re position them fully.

Also, got new textures for the signs, as you can see. Make them look 3D and what not.

New lighting so it fits the Twoson sunset type of feel.

Also, The textures you had were too bright, so new textures for the grass, houses, and took away the dirt roads from Onett that are not supposed to be on Twoson.

And here is a screenshot of how yours looked before for comparison purposes:

Looks good and all man, but there's still much to do.

Have you thought about the Market and other stuff?

I planned on doing and Earthbound stage, most likely Threed, and I will include everything, and every building will be shaped and look how its supposed to.

Dear God...that looks amazing! Can you send me a link to it please? And originally I thought about making the market, but since I'm not really good at making stages yet and can only work with models I already have, I scratched the idea. Instead (it's really dumb but) I put a sign for Burglin Park in the background.

Threed would be so awesome... :srs:

Cool! Glad you like it man.

I just did it out of boredom, once fixing the model of the signs, I was like what the hell I'll edit it a bit, make it look 3D sexy and what not. Then I was like hmm grass is too bright, then I said the lighting..

Think I'm just gonna send it to ya now via PM before I start going even more crazy with the stage lol.
