Title: (FilePatch3.5.3)Update Post by: Don Jon Bravo on October 06, 2012, 08:59:33 PM File Patch Code V3.5.3v2(NTSC-U)(By PW, DW, and MW) Whats New? Now with the ability to double your character slots, CSS, Music, stage slots, and SFX via including an extra RSBE folder thanks to DW. Previous version did not allow for sfx swapping. RSBE is now set to default. Cleaned up the codes and deleted a bunch of unnecessary stuff. You will need both of these codes: File Patch 3.5.1(NTSCU)(By PW) 3.5.3 upgrader(by MW, with credit to DW) Important: 1. Folders can only be swapped with special combination buttons at the 1st controller. Wiimote/Wiimote+nunchuck use "-" + "A" Gamecube controller/Classic Controller use "X" + "Y" Wiimote+Nunchuck Users I recommend using both of your thumbs when activating the code. 2. You need a regular SD card. 2GB is the max size. 3. Its now possible to swap sfx between rosters too. You will need to add the SFX codes as well. Everything about sfx can be found here: http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=61460.0 (http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=61460.0) How does it work: 1. Make a seperate folder called RSB4 and place it inside the "app" folder that goes inside the "private" folder. X:/private/wii/app/RSB4/-Note that inside the "app" folder you will also have your RSBE folder :P just like the RSBE folder is set up. 3. To switch between folders: Hold your special combination buttons for two seconds at anyscreen(before gameplay preferably). You will need to refresh your Rosters(character or stage) manually. 4. I recommend using the same "title screen music" for both folders to avoid possible music De-syncs while in the menu. X02.brstm and X03.brstm are the ids for the tittle screen music Note: Any other codes affect both folders. Activating the codes while in your CSS or SSS will not automatically update your portraits, but will swap the folders. It is possible to play matches of a character against their alternate version, works perfect for costumes. Only issue is that the game will only load one moveset for both of these same characters when doing so. Works on gecko, usb loaders, and dolphin. PM users just add the second code to your existing codes. How will it have 4x the CSS? does the code give 4x the CSP capacity?

Title: Re: almas code with the availability for 24 slots per character Post by: Ultraxwing on October 08, 2012, 04:44:17 PM i would suggest making this Riivolution specific so you won't have file size issues

i may just have to start using a wiimote from now on XD Title: Re: almas code with the availability for 24 slots per character Post by: Don Jon Bravo on October 08, 2012, 04:56:18 PM all righty then yea i recommend using only the wiimote, its actually pretty funi may just have to start using a wiimote from now on XD and more old school Title: Re: almas code with the availability for 24 slots per character Post by: ToadKart on October 08, 2012, 05:25:08 PM I don't think file size would even be an issue really. I have a texture on every possible color slot besides the character's regular color, a lot of music, and the max amount of stages you can have and it's only 673 MB.
Title: Re: almas code with the availability for 24 slots per character Post by: Ultraxwing on October 08, 2012, 10:39:15 PM Riivolution could handle a code like this better if it's poorly written (usually first writes are) and uses more ram. if it uses too much ram it might crash. Riivolution might fix this problem. hell you could make a code and a Riivolution XML to go with it to look for these new files.
like how the added stages and the Riivolution XML knows where to look. this might be a new breakthrough with XML and ASM if you can get the codes to work in Tandem. and it really nips it in the bud that it's going to be a Wiimote only thing. seeing how i don't own a wiimote anymore and i have my wii work on the only Gamecub controller. either way, it's you guys devoloping it. i am just going to support it any way cause this will be epic Title: Re: almas code with the availability for 24 slots per character Post by: Don Jon Bravo on October 08, 2012, 10:49:41 PM ou could make a code and a Riivolution XML to go with it to look for these new files. thats the planlike how the added stages and the Riivolution XML knows where to look. but ill start off with simplicity and move on from there<.< Title: Re: almas code with the availability for 24 slots per character Post by: Chaoszard on October 09, 2012, 12:36:01 AM If im not mistaking, with this codes u can have 4 times the folders: Which means 4 times the characters This is interesting. Does it means that it could "expand" characters slots of textures ? Let's suppose i choose the same character into the 4 slots. Then i decide to have its blue color of 1st folder, red color of 2nd folder, original color of 3rd folder and red color of 4th folder. Is this possible or 1 folder only can be read ? Title: Re: almas code with the availability for 24 slots per character Post by: Don Jon Bravo on October 09, 2012, 10:42:08 AM This is interesting. i think one folder can only be read at a timeDoes it means that it could "expand" characters slots of textures ? Is this possible or 1 folder only can be read ? but yea you can change folders at the tittle screen by a combination of buttons but you can always organize things the way you want for ex. you can have all ur marvel chars in one folder all ur pokemon on other etc. Title: Re: almas code with the availability for 24 slots per character Post by: JELLYpWnzU on October 09, 2012, 03:58:36 PM i think 2gb sd is the limit i use a 4gb usb and it works so i think its 4gb, im so looking forward to this code cuz my brother wants to play as pit but i want to play as goku (over pit) but u think its even possible to do this?lol Title: Re: almas code with the availability for 24 slots per character Post by: ToadKart on October 09, 2012, 05:13:01 PM From my understanding of the code, no. You would need the clone engine(which is still unfinished) for something like that I think. With this code, you would only be able to play against the characters/textures within the same folder.

For example: Lets say you are FitGanon00, you can transform into FitGanon02. the thing about that code is that I would have to set up 5 different combination buttons, (one for every slot) which i dont know if anyone will memorize lol. once i get the patch code working the way i want it too, ill play around with that other code. just make sure you have your folders set up correctly also i would recommend only adding codes you really need at first to test apperently the code takes you first to the RSB4 folder, but you can switch it back to RSBE via the buttons combinations Title: Re: Final: File Patch Code V 3.5.3(NTSC-U)by Mr.MW w/ credit to DW and PW Post by: SonicBrawler on October 14, 2012, 02:07:40 PM New File Patch Code (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zI4eWaeXduI#ws)

Renaming folders (rsbe to RSBE and rsb4 to RSB4), unplugging other GC controllers, trying button combination on other slots and other controllers, using file patch code alone, also tried the file patch code which uses Wiimote...
Same result, only RSB4 is read and no folder swapping. So : 1-Folders are named correctly (RSBE and RSB4) 2-I have 4 Original Gamecube controllers and tried each one 3-I only used your file patch code without any other codes What else ? try this: rename your RSBE folder to RSB4 and if the file patch code does not read your hack file than that means there is something wrong with your RSBE folder, fix it. make sure your folders inside RSBE and RSB4 set up correctly. also: its not going to tell you ur folders have swapped, it just that when u go to ur CSS, if you have installed a different one, than you are going to see a different one by different css i dont necessarily mean different layout, it can be the same css layout with different CSP's anyways i tried the code myself and it worked, if you want me to help you anymore i need a text file with your folders setup and i need to see both your CSS files Title: Re: Final: File Patch Code V 3.5.3(NTSC-U)by Mr.MW w/ credit to DW and PW Post by: Chaoszard on October 19, 2012, 02:12:29 PM That's simple.
In RSBE folder, i have all hacks i gathered from the beginning of brawl hacking. In RSB4 folder, i kept musics and stages only. Mr.MW, it still does not work. I have done something simple : i removed ALL folders into RSBE > pf and RSB4 > pf and i just left for both pf > system. Into system there was Common3 for RSB4, and Common5 for RSBE. In game it shows a normal CSS but with items that i changed so it is the proof that RSB4 was being read at this moment. When i made the button combination (x + y for 2 seconds and even more) it should have changed to my modified CSS but with normal items. But it didn't. Conclusion : File patch code is working, yes, but it only reads RSB4 and folder swapping does not work. I don't know why the hell it works for you. It may be useful to know your "configuration". Wii > PAL ? NTCS-US ? Loader > Riivolution ? Gecko OS ? USB loader ? Its a small trick i learned 1. go to CSS and choose a character, make sure it has been clicked on and chosen - the game will automatically load the character from whatever folder u are using 2. press the combination buttons while in the CSS and choose your other character - the character you choose next will be from the second folder since the game will load the other folder when u press the button combination -only downfall to this is that ur CSS from the other folder will not automatically load in the CSS selection area so you have to memorize in which slot the character you desire from the second folder is located -also stages and music from the second folder will appear after you pressed the button combinations Title: Re: Final: File Patch Code V 3.5.3(NTSC-U)by Mr.MW w/ credit to DW and PW Post by: ToadKart on October 27, 2012, 02:49:46 PM Woah, that's pretty neat. Mr.MW, I've been using this code for a while now to determine that this code doesn't seem to work with Pokemon Trainer or the individual Pokemon. Such as selecting Squirtle, going to the SSS, pressing 1+c, returning to the CSS and selecting Wartortle, it will load the costume in the other folder instead. Would this work without the individual pokemon code? Mewtwo over Rob vs Lucario (Already Lucario) would work, if I read the comments right, but in the same setup, would having Mewtwo over Rob versus Rob have any issues? I would assume so, because Mewtwo had taken over one folder of Rob, while there is still another. Both folders would likely fight over the graphics and effects, right? Is there any way to allow these functions to exist in Riivolution? I recall that Beyond's codehandler.bin and Brawl.xml files allow Riivolution to run even if the FPC is active, but I do not know if any of the code could be read. Does Riivolution discriminate against any code that is labeled as code for FPC (meaning if any code exists under File Patch Code X.X.X in a GCT or txt file, it isn't read at all), or could the code you added that isn't directly related to FPC be used at all, whether placed within the FPC 3.5.3 code or separated into its own code? Title: Re: (FilePatch3.5.3) Post by: Choppasmith on June 07, 2013, 01:12:41 AM try this this fixes rsbe as default Yep, that did it! 4 cBliss Marios don't freeze at the end of the match anymore! This. There is actually a starter pack someone put in the vault that fills all of the blank cBliss spaces so it won't freeze. Already applied it. Though with this working now I can start seeing just how much I can fit on my 2GB card. I'm still getting random End Match freezes from certain 4 Character combinations, but I'm pretty sure that's the cBliss code and not your code. and is a matter of filling the folder on the SD Card with more files from the ISO. EDIT: UGH! Random CSS Freeze. I think I'm just going to switch to 3.5.1 for now. While rare and certainly not unplayable, I think the two codes just get fussy when all 4 players are involved. The whole reason I originally gave this a look was a chance for extra costumes and I think cBliss covers it quite well. It was actually difficult to find costumes I liked to fill out cBliss, doing it again for all characters just isn't worth the hassle for me. Plus the lack of space to hold two full "sets" on a 2GB SD card. Don't get me wrong though MW, you're doing some AWESOME work! Nice work :O I've actually been using this for a long time xD. I can say that it works flawlessly with cBliss and the expansion stages, only downside is the limitations on files it can hold (not much room when limited to gecko). Unfortunately cBliss needs more files then usual so it takes up quite a bit more space. I had to make room by adding a majority of my files to ISO. Mostly a note to people having some issues getting it to work. Do you think it would be possible to modify your Transformer's Code to only affect a single character, and make the changing activate with Down Special (Down + B), rather than with Taunting? It would also be a bonus, if the changing could occur during/after an Animation, rather than on the first Frame. I'm asking this, because I'm planning on doing a very complex PSA in the near future. I couldn't get Triple Rasta to work, but your FPC worked for me. now that u mentioned it, I have made some good findings that need testingwhat i really need is the CSS to swap automatically instead of having to go back and forth, than brawl history will be made imaging swapping from roster to roster or from stage roster to stage roster 0.o im also not done testing the sfx swapping like i said character sounds swap successfully, but the menu sounds and character sounds are always loaded from the rsbe folder its possible that because i didnt install the 7.bnk in the rsb4 folder, its just loading stuff from the rsbe folder which is weird because for any other files if the code does not find something, it just loads stuff from the iso Title: Re: (FilePatch3.5.3) Post by: Carnage on August 10, 2013, 06:15:07 PM i want that abode xD seeing 2 rspb files and choose them on the css would be epic imo since using kirby to switch around in tripe rasta is kinda of a burden

it works but because of the problems with the portraits its kinda useless... Title: Re: (FilePatch3.5.3) Post by: Don Jon Bravo on August 15, 2013, 11:30:06 PM i already teste the 7 bnk.
same problem the game loads that file from when the game starts and never calls for it again, making swapping impossible as opposed to character sounds that load each time u choose one... Just have one question can I use different gct files on this? Like in one folder I have brawl minus and the other is vbrawl, but when I play the vbrawl it has minus codes. Would I just rename the other gct to RSB401.gct? Would I just rename the other gct to RSB401.gct? it could work using the double gct method, i would have to edit it though this could give u a whole different brawl, even new css layouts but i dont think its too benificial as u probably will get glitches when fighting players from different rosters; unless ur willing to stay one roster... by the way i have figured out how to add the forbidden 3 to your character roster (mewtwo, dr. mario, roy) Title: Re: (FilePatch3.5.3) Post by: Jade_Rock on August 25, 2013, 05:39:33 PM So it probably won't work I'll just use brawl- codes.Anyway nice work on this code. :)
Wait so your saying I could add those 3 without replacements? If so how? Title: Re: (FilePatch3.5.3) Post by: Don Jon Bravo on August 25, 2013, 07:09:46 PM basically it adds 3 more characters to the roster, but its borrowing them from another roster.

Title: Re: (FilePatch3.5.3) Post by: DSX8 on August 26, 2013, 03:17:56 AM Mr. MW actually told me about his idea over skype a few days ago.. but im not sure if it will even work.. anyways, what his idea was is to use the independent pokemon loader, and change it up to where it can load 3 new folders (i think), and it'll load (as he says), Roy, Mewtwo, and Dr. Mario instead of Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard since u can just use the pokemon trainer for those. if he's able to get that to work, then who knows about the sheik and ZSS css slots to replace the other missing chars ._.

i actually did a test where i added more csps for ex menselecb620.brres menselecb621.brres etc. and the game didnt freeze. now i just need to find the code to link em to a "clone" player could take a while but for the 3 extra characters its just a matter of testing n stuff Title: Re: (FilePatch3.5.3) Post by: Shun_One on August 26, 2013, 08:47:08 PM currently im looking into adding more csps to the sc_selcharacter Theoretically (I haven't tested this), you should be able to add as many portraits as you have space for. Title: Re: (FilePatch3.5.3)Update Post by: Sirkura on September 11, 2013, 12:36:59 AM I assume one does not need to add the RSBE code to their code-set as well? So if the RSB4 folder had a WHOLE DIFFERENT set of hacks, would it load those hacks after you swapped the folders with the new File Patch Code? you can swap freely between the files at will, just don't choose the same character in the rsb4 folder or it might freeze. the GCT is loaded befoer the game even starts so you can't change it by swapping, (ex brawl -/+). the game loads the common3 and strap at the start of the game, make sure those r set to the default loader (rsbe/rsb4 depending on which code you use). character data is stored as soon as you select that character, wich allows you to select one and then switch folders and select another character. stages are the same way they load once you click them. music is streamed live tho, so if you have music it can be loud and buggy when you switch. hope that helps clear up some of the questions. ^^; oh another thing just a few bugs i noticed from folder switching if anyone was curious. 1) music messes up when u switch if the songs r different. lasts till it changes songs. 2)transformation characters can be odd if you use one character (ex. zelda) and swap and turn into sheik it can load a different costume/psa some times. (depends on the size, some freeze.) 3) transforming stages work very similar to the characters switching during a map can cause collision errors. Never went that far lol. As for choosing the same player from two folders, if they are only normal PSA's, only one moveset-PSA will pop out for both characters unfortunately... You do know that part of that code only affects music, hmm maybe i should look into having music swap "live"with no "de-syncs". Title: Re: (FilePatch3.5.3)Update Post by: Sirkura on September 12, 2013, 03:49:31 AM you can avoid all these issues by simply not activating the code "live" haha i generally switch at will from the CSS and SSS. in the match i try not to switch if i can help it. most the bugs involved with that can't really be fixed with the way the file system is set up. i mostly found them while i was experimenting. its actually very similar to the brawl +/vbrawl code. it did the same thing but with different folder names. it was no where near a stable and it crashed alot tho. the charcter glitch i mentioned happened by accident when i chose zelda and swapped to fight someone on the other roster. i forgot to change back so zelda went from morrigan to shiek to nami ._. was kinda funny. confused my friends a bit xD-its meant to be done at the title screens that is why the button combinations I assigned are never used in real gameplay but anyways, about the stages: ha ha, that is a new one for me. Cbliss is deffinately compatable but a lot more work and a pain to set up. i currently use it actually. you will need all the files (results, CSS, character pac/pcs, etc) in both folders. i takes up a lot of space on your SD card how ever. i use a usb loader so i was able to permanantly add the files to save the amount of space on the card.Title: Re: (FilePatch3.5.3)Update Post by: Yukio on September 12, 2013, 07:39:21 PM I also use a usb loader and I have all my cbliss files in the iso so do I need to use both folders or just the RSB4 with the RSBE folder empty?

there are two sexy pillar css i want to try, also dsx8's tvc CSS Also i can easily add access for more folders but it requires more lines of code and more button combinations. alternatively, i was able to get 3 folders using the same button combinations, but there is one issue. whenever u swap, folders go in this order: 1>2>1>3>1>2>1>3>1 etc. i want it to swap in this order: 1>2>3>1>2>3 adding a 4th folder just screws up the order so should i just leave it as is for the 3 folders, or is 2 folders enough guys? :vyse: Title: Re: (FilePatch3.5.3)Update Post by: Sirkura on September 18, 2013, 10:24:38 PM awesome honestly 2 folders is a lot. i have so many custome stages and music and characters they don't fit on my SD card anymore i migrated the music and expansion stages to the iso. however a third folder would be nice to keep maybe for vbrawl characters. as for the button combinations maybe use it so that you can swap them via x+dpad(left/right/up) at least for game cube controllers. i don't think those buttons are even used for the main menus.there are two sexy pillar css i want to try, also dsx8's tvc CSS Also i can easily add access for more folders but it requires more lines of code and more button combinations. alternatively, i was able to get 3 folders using the same button combinations, but there is one issue. whenever u swap, folders go in this order: 1>2>1>3>1>2>1>3>1 etc. i want it to swap in this order: 1>2>3>1>2>3 adding a 4th folder just screws up the order so should i just leave it as is for the 3 folders, or is 2 folders enough guys? :vyse: Title: Re: (FilePatch3.5.3)Update Post by: ToadKart on September 18, 2013, 11:19:28 PM I'd go with 3 or 4 folders if at all possible. Filesize would indeed be a problem, but there's some ways around that like adding to the iso. Also, since Brawl hacking has advanced quite a bit in the past year, maybe new ways to deal with filesize might be found as well.

does it handle Config files for both folders properly? also that one is just for the wiimote/wiimote+nunchuck ill check it out and post one for the rest of the controllers Title: Re: (FilePatch3.5.3)Update Post by: Jade_Rock on January 14, 2014, 04:37:04 PM I should try this later since the old code didn't work with BrawlEx.
Thanks for this. Maybe I will borrow a laptop from my cousin and try to make it load Exbrawl Config files (haven tested yet), I am also trying to make a full pack of a CBLISS Like Exbrawl -_- ( I already made It, but havent tested, because my awful problem -_-,) I hope you guys test this as well D: Title: Re: (FilePatch3.5.3)Update Post by: Don Jon Bravo on January 14, 2014, 05:27:19 PM its strange the one in the op did not work for you
technically you should just insert the second section of codes to 3.5.1b Title: Re: (FilePatch3.5.3)Update Post by: Jade_Rock on January 14, 2014, 05:32:39 PM So with that I replace 3.5.1b with 3.5.3b or do I have them both on the same gct?

EDIT But.. technically it should work, because as far as I know, config files load only once, when the game starts.. or they load more times than that? Post Merge: January 16, 2014, 03:24:18 PM Code: File Patch Code v3.5.1 (modified to load from project m folder) just if anyone is interested u should be able to replace the PM code above with the one thats in the OP. can you make it load in another folder instead? like a .. brawlex folder? Title: Re: (FilePatch3.5.3)Update Post by: superben2008 on January 21, 2014, 04:54:19 PM i can confirm that the code in the OP is working with the SDHC expansion and cbliss using FPC 3.5.1 (i did not test 3.5.1b) thanks. now i can have double the stages.
EDIT: it seems to conflict with music during battle. i activate the code at the css. it will play the intended song. then switch to another one. my sd is defragmented. so i dont know what the problem is. On that note, I saw a "3.5.3b" code floating around somewhere, you should check it out. |
