MOVE IF NEEDED!!! I DON'T REALLY KNOW WHERE TO PUT THIS!!!


I'm wondering what kinds of hacks will actually work in SSE cuz I tried using Shadow over Donkey Kong & it froze & I tried the Hero of Time PSA for Link & it worked fine. I even had model hacks in too. I'm gonna try Dark Link over Link & see if it works soon.

My overall question is: What character hacks will work in SSE? Should anything work? If so then why won't Shadow over DK work? Should PSAs not work? If so then why did the Hero of Time PSA work? I need to know cuz it would be awesome to use Shadow or something in SSE.

My Shadow over DK works. Although, it's maybe a v3/v4? I think there was a v9 last time I checked.

If anything, .rel ports have always frozen in SSE for me. It's more or less why I'm not that fond of them, lol.

ALSO NOTE, that if you're only using the .pcs, tihngs are going to break. you need both for SSE stuff.

Lastly, this should probably be in the general help forum.

I tried to put 4 hacked characters like F/SN Saber, Lightning, Shadow and SMBZ Mario, it frozes.
Then I used them one by one (I mean with other no hacked characters), except Lightning and Saber, it worked

Yea... It depends...

Sometimes, SSE freeze even without hacked characters, maybe because hacked musics...

Anyway, I tried ShadowKong V4 only, and it worked. But when I tried it with Mewtwo, it didn't work.

hm. So anything can freeze it? Man. That makes it hard to hack SSE doesn't it? I wish I could just search for hacks that will work anywhere (except online) so then I can just get them & not worry.

Yea *cough* I think the way to make it work is to NOT use a lot of hacks... Something like, hum... 2 or 3 hacks max, I'll try this and with the hacks I have, I'll make a list.

I can already tell you that :

Shadow over Sonic, Prominence Ike, Prince Roy, Brawl Roy, CloudKong and SMBZ Mario works great.

I tested them only one by one, didn't test them together

Well Imve done Dark Link over Link, Demise, Fighter Kirby & Wisp over jiggly & it worked fine. Tho Jiggly was an opponent & I was trying to beat him. Failed with my best character too :(
But yeah. I'm gonna guess that there is a pattern. Each of the PSAs you mentioned that works are all on the original character right? Except CloudKong that is.

Yup, and I think Kusanagis Aesthetic Falcon works too (didn't tested it though) But I tried once ShadowKong V3 and it worked, so... I don't really know.
The only thing is they just work when you use 2 or 3 hacks only (I tested 4, and my wii started to sing)

hm... I used 4 PSAs in SSE & it worked fine. Weird.

Me too... I used DarkLink over Link, Shadow over sonic, Like over Ike and I can't remember the last one on the plain and it worked... but when I try them on the ruins... it froze... I don't understand SSE hacking :/

nether do I. Maybe it's the total file size of the team members & stage? If thats the case then we (meaning everyone) just needs to figure out the max file size & it will work! But I'm guessing it won't be that easy.

I also think that too, but I noticed the musics... you know, uniques musics in SSE are also taking a lot of place. Maybe more than the characters themselves.

Do you have hacked musics on your SSE? because I had, and only a few of them work (plain, bombs factory, the lake and research lab) *cough* with all 4 characters

Then I guess it's the whole Stage, Characters, & Music needs to fit in a limit. What's the biggest amount of memory you can come across that works?

I think that only a very few have music. But only in some parts. Likke the 2nd part in the 1st level & stuff like that.

yea... but the SSE froze, for me, at the beginning or when I die and I take another character (but that's rarely happened)
As I said, I'll make a list of the characters who works with SSE, but not now *goes to play LOL*

thats why you have the shadow vs sonic psa fix it comes with th dk and my dedede psa

Really? Huh... Never noticed or bothered with it. Is there a Shadow on a character like Meta Knight that has it's own victory theme? Kirby & DeDeDe have the same while Meta has a rock like version.

The only thing I disliked with shadow over DK is the start slow running and the N-Air, other than that, I like it but I'm using CloudKong so... he is already replaced

I prefer Cloud over DK than Shadow over DK, but in general, Shadow over Sonic is the best! :af2: :af2:

Olimar, except the Final Smash, the Chaos Spear and burst (I don't even know why it's happening)

And the best port for Shadow, in my opinion, that's the DK one. No .rel, no codes, almost no

glitches and a hard PSA... That's a well done work!

Sorry for double posting, but I think I might start to test a great numbers of hacks in 3 hours

(it will be 8:50 PM at home and my family will watch a stupid TV show...) so... if you have any hacks that you want me to test, lemme know it.^^

If you make him over wario that would be the best shadow! Just... imagine that : 12 costumes+transformation into super/hyper or whatever you want Shadow!
Yup, and as wario is really useless... but isn't that hard to hack wario? I never see a PSA over him

I mean like Blaze's victory theme sounds good with Sonic as well. Link's original victory theme sounds good with Zelda & Sheik. Anyone for Diddy that sounds good with Shadow's victory theme? I'm thinking Dark Sonic or Miliphies but aern't they over other characters & not Diddy?

I LOVE IT! is this a port like ShadowKong or a .rel port? Cuz I love the way it turns out and I can't use .rel

Well... I tested Lightning over Lucas........ my wii froze. I don't know why, but I think the ruins has the tiniest filesize, cuz when I test a PSA there, it rarely works.
Maybe we should do something called "the ruins' SSE test", which means if a character works there... it will work obviously in the all the SSE... at least I hope ;D ;D

hm... Yes. Good point. This is the stage where you can fight Wolf after beating Tabuu right? If so I know the exact one.

How about The Battlefield Fortress? I think its the biggest stage besides getting through the Great Maze. It should have the largest single File Size. I might be wrong however.

Yes, the Ruins is the place where you fight wolf after beating the SSE...

I can't remember what is Battlefield Fortress? isn't that when you free Dk after he was transformed into a trophy?

No. The Battlefield Fortress is where your Marth for the 1st time & you can find & be Meta Knight on the 2nd cutsceen & Ike near the end. It's a long one. Has about 15 doors without getting everything. Takes me about 10mins without any challenge.

So... are goku over pit and cf work with others hacks or alone? Cuz I'll add it. Knuckles over Ness (as I used it) also works in SSE, Midna over Ness too (I hate Ness xD) and huh....

I completly forgot that one... yea, it was quite long, I always did this one with Marth, cuz Ike was too slow and that stage is huge

Well... since I can't test any .rel hacks (don't ask why, I dunno...), hope the shadow over some and others characters will work

I tested Cloud Dissidia over Ike and it works! I'll add it to the list^^
Don't forget : if you want me to test something or see if a SSE hack works, post here or PM me^^

I got the same version except I'm PAL so more difficult to hack it have non muted characters but I'll re-test it if you want... it's strange it froze for you though

Not really sure the exact version tho. I believe it was V4 tho. True moveset. Also The Hero Of Time PSA for Link worked for me but not anymore. Wierd.

Well... HOT Link is weird cuz sometimes it froze even in battle mode, did you put custom models with it?

.rel ports commonly crash without proper porting.
