Post by: Sir Kirby the 4th on March 10, 2013, 12:34:39 PM
ok, i tried googleing it, but the only thing i found was something about using homebrew and an SD card. i want to know if there is another way, without breaking or damaging my game in any way possible.

u mean to use with dolphin?

if so, you can use a USb loader to rip the game, and then use WBFS manager or wii backup manager to get the iso on ur PC

Since you already have a copy of SSBB on your Wii, it's not illegal to download a torrent of SSBB and use the .iso found in the torrent!

Uh, it kinda is. It is not illegal, however, to upload your copy of SSBB as backup.

Besides, if it's a torrent, it's usually illegal.

It's illegal to download if you don't own a hard copy of the game.
But [censored] the police.

my solution was:

-step 1: use a USB loader (on ur wii, nothing to do with pc) that supports iso ripping (USB loader GX for example) to get ur iso on a hard drive/pendrive/whatever USB thing.
-step 2: get wii backup manager on ur pc.
-step 3: put the USB you used in your PC
-step 4: transfer the ISO from the USB to your PC
-step 5: ???
step 6: profit

If you have a legal copy of Brawl, you can use a USB Loader application, such as WiiFlow, to install the ISO onto a USB hard drive.  You can then use the Wii Backup Manager to convert the installed ISO into a .iso file, which WIIScrubber and Dolphin can read.

Google up the programs.

7 GB, my biggest SD card is 2 GB.
You need a USB stick/HDD to store the ISO.

usb stick. oh! yah, i has one.
so, i get one of the usb things found on the resource section of the vault, download and install this:http://bootmii.org/download/ (http://bootmii.org/download/), put it where they are supposed to go, and do the stuff i need to do to get my game to the stick. correct?

The thing to keep note about is that when you install ISOs onto your USB device, they will be saved as .wbfs files, and compressed.

For the Brawl ISO, however, the ISO uses 6.93 GB when compressed, so it'll be split into two files for the purpose of being usable on the FAT and FAT32 storage devices.  In that scenario, you'll need both of those files in order to convert the Brawl ISO into a .iso file.

but the thing i want to know is if i got all of the steps right mentioned above.

i'll try to make it even clearer:

- plug a USB storage device in your wii (low slot)
- download ultimate usb loader gx
- put the downloaded app in a SD card, in a folder called "apps".
- run your wii.
- get in homebrew channel and run ultimate USB loader gx.
- there is a possibility the app asks you to format your drive, if it's the case and you have nothing important on it, do it.
- when it finished loading, click on a + icon there is. (you must have your game placed in the wii)
- wait patiently untill it finishes "installing" the game.
- once finished, shut down your wii, you dont need it anymore.
- plug the USB storage device in your PC.
- download wii backup manager and run it.
- click on the "drive 1" tab.
- set it to the letter your USB is using.
- now you will see a list of games (probably only ssbb).
- select ssbb with the mark thingy on it's left.
- click on transfer and search for a .iso related option.
- wait patiently until it's done.
- if you got no errors, you should have your ssbb iso on your PC now.

Getting a torrent is a lot faster and easier, but only do that if you have a legal hard copy of SSBB, or else it will be illegal.

thanks for your help joke king. but what are the major risks, and what is the most likely risk?

none at all... as i said, the biggest thing that can happen is that the loader asks you to format ur usb drive, i did this with all my solid copies of wii games.

oh, so lose all of your memory? hm...
i most likely know, but i just want to know for sure. do you mean that it asks me if i want to format the wii, or the usb stick?
