Title: Naruto EX3 Custom Animations Recruit (UPDATE: MOTION PAC! 7/7)

ds22, others and I have started naruto from EX3
the bones are all named differently and he will need custom animations

we're looking to get close to EX3 as much as possible but if u have suggestions u can just talk abt it in the thread

how about a better description of what it is exactly that you are doing???

I know it's naruto but what kind of attacks are you attempting to create?

Some people may not be familiar with Naruto EX3, like myself, and will need a bit more of an explanation. I am a "retired" fan of naruto and are not up-to-speed with all the episodes and games... The movesets that are already out there are pretty good (the CON one is the best tho :) ), I cant wait to see how this one turns out!

well we're aiming for the closest to EX3 as possible
just go look for some youtube videos on gameplay videos and you should get and idea
i agree the CON is the best and we tried getting the creators to come help us
but both are busy at the moment with other projects so they'll come to us when they're done

I cant do psa at all. .Fade posted a little help thing for doing an ike's psa.

I just have to look at it. i'll know how long the animation is and the exact body movemet head to toe. I remade megaman volnutts wait from TvC really easily.

Anything I do i'll replicate from the game.

Oh I have english papers so try to be a little patient with me for a little bit. Cant do a lot.

oh just in case you guys didn't know ike's fitmotionetc.pac hits its limit around 3300 kb. 3400 is too much. learned that making my naruto.

EDIT - fail =_=....after working on the jump brawl box refused to save and closed it...

Gotcha. I'm almost done with it, although it looks a LOT like Snake's dash attack roll thing. Whatever, that's what the attack looks like in EX3.

I tested out the animations and the AttackDash went a bit to far in distant.

really? it doesn't for me...

anyway MaRRok sent me the only animation clone technique and it looks good in brawlbox
im not sure abt in brawl though i havn't tried it

EDIT: i think my common5.pac causes it to freeze im going to get rid of it

the DBZ stage is known to freeze with alot of stuff
It's also known to mess up the CPU.
Mostly because the stage is the first stage working non-Brawl stage in existence.

Who knows. There was a lot of tweaks on his part and the model wouldn't cooperate with somethings i did at first. Ike is a huge jerk to do a detailed psa for. I hope whoever's doing the psa can learn about ike's annoyances.

i may be able to give some psa advice. I know CON too well inside and out.

made to be what we're doing after all. i can make a moveset suggestion based on what our original was going to be before changes.

yea. frame speed modifier works magic. current run animation lasts 16 frames.

thats about 4 animations worth per second

set frame speed to .5 and his run becomes 32 frames instead of 16.

it still counts as 16 frames so it'll look the same just slower

you know how to adjust the frame speed right? set it to .7 to start and test that

The Run animation looks good, but doesn't move.
EDIT: I got a wicked idea.
When Kryal releases the model importer, we could export the Naruto model, give him Ike's bones and import him back in.
That way, we could "steel" Brawl animations.

I forgot to move his N bone.

I set it all to 0 so he didn't run off screen when I was making it. Can you set the final frame of it to 45 on the Z translation.

Also I have a CON Naruto with no sword glows and no flaming swords on the clones. It wasn't update on the page I don't think. If we're gonna do clones with articles the psa I have can help.

I'm gonna try to figure out walking up a wall too.

BTW ds22 if you weren't completely aware of it yet. Ike uses a lot of hard coding that needs to be avoided to get good results.

Tried and it had the same problem your Run had, only a bit slower (getting to a distance).

It looks good, but it still doesn't fix the "loop" problem we had before with Piggybank67's Run.
We should probably do some other animations before we fix Run.
And when the BrawlBox Model importer gets released, we can use the animations of for example, CoN Naruto or Naruto (V0.6.6b).
Should also fix the Run problem, the grab glitch and the teleport glitch.

Double post alert.
I do believe I found a fix for the Run animation problem (still no fix for the grab glitch).
He runs now properly and even fixes some other animations.
However, it disgruntles his left foot period (only a little bit of a eye sore, nothing more).
I also had to resign some bone indexes to get it working (resigning them back to there original places).

Use all the files to test it yourself as for this model is slightly modified.

I can give it a try, but I suspect that it will only lead to the same problem we had before.
So don't get your hopes up.
EDIT: The tails didn't work, but guess what, his hipbag did!
His left foot is still flappy though and his hipbag moves when you move (I tried texturing the bag out, but that failed and Polygon remove it isn't useful as for it would also delete a part of his right leg), but it is at least better than a disgruntled foot (not all the time at least)

Maybe because there specials won't work?
I would have to port all the PSA stuff over, which is a lot of work compared to just using Ike and wait for the clone engine.

Double post alert.
I may have found a way to grab (including Ganondorf's Side B and Snake grabbings) Naruto WITHOUT him glitching up.
On most of the stages I tried, whenever I grab Naruto, he will go slightly down (in OizenX's Valley of the End stage he went slightly towards the screen) and acts like a normal Character who's being grabbed.
Final Destination is picky sometimes though, but I don't know why.

Is Sasuke next?

because spring break is nearing and our teachers decided to give us like 4723184902378 tests which i have to study for
so ill see if i can get work in this weekend

I have a Sasuke model, which is resized, lying around.

Because I gave him to nerfispwnage243 on Smashboards.
Don't know if he's working on him though.

i don't think he is well the progress is none...
because spring break is nearing and our teachers decided to give us like 4723184902378 tests which i have to study for
so ill see if i can get work in this weekend
I didn't say we would work on him.

Instead of making a list, I can say all animation beside the specials and the animations which are already done.
And I can confirm, it flaws at the first match you grab Naruto.
All matches after that one will work flawless.

It glitches in the first match you grab Naruto.
It can also be that Naruto goes extremely high or off the screen and dies instantly when grabbed.
But only in the first match you grab Naruto, not the matches which follow.
EDIT: About the animations, he also needs the damage animations.
Also, he dies instantly when grabbed in training.
And I consider this a ghetto fix, because it has a few serious problems (like freezings when playing Ichigo and only working separate from eachother).

I added a new bone and renamed it to ThrowN and it fixed most of the problems I told about (and which were shown in the vid).
(It's still a bit weird acting sometimes though, really can't wait for the model rebuilder).

Ledge grabbing is something I still need to figure out in BrawlBox, as for it uses a grabbing bone which I need to locate.

There may be a way to give him a proper rasengan. If you look at CoN Naruto he has Lucas' PSI Magnet. It replaces Ike's eruption so it works for the rasengan but flames appear. They're hard coded in his graphics. (Which is why he just has wind for his rasengan)

I'm gonna attempt to hex his external graphics away and get rid of the lightning. I'll PM you it to test it.

Down-B suggestion.
Exploding Tag - Drops a 'sticker" that explodes on contact or after a set period of time.

I thought of something.
Since CoN Revolution and GNT EX3 are similar when it comes in battle, that the PSA should use specials similar to the ones of Naruto CoN.
Just a suggestion.

Actually when I was thinking of the CoN moveset I based it entirely on the moveset he has in GNT EX3. That's why they're similar. Some changes in the aerials that weren't done on CoN would be good for GNT Naruto though.

Anyway, yes, some moves can be alternated.
As a matter of fact, I edited the Naruto CoN PSA you send me to (almost) fully work with the Naruto model.
Only the Kyuubi Final combo and D-Tilt won't seem to land hits.
And of course the effects and Article models need work.

About the up-b being a clone footstool, the special falls and landing won't be needed. I have a better version of BrawlBox now so I can beast on animations today. Also I think GNT EX3 can have 5 or 6 different clones. When I finish animating I'll make it and send ds22 something to test with more clones.

Well, in both these threads (http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=271427&page=8) (http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=263127&page=254) they found out that by performing a memory dump of the game (Tales of Symphonia 2) in battle, they could get animation which were previously not found (decompressed).
This could be useful for getting animations for Naruto out of his own game.

Just finished looking into the in battle dump Thanyou send me and guess what:
NO CHARACTER CHR0'S!!1 >:(
Not even one!
There either not existing or encrypted (as I did find CHR0 with rubbish text yet still noticeable parts of text in it).
What I did find though is a Bomb Tag (with Kunai attached).

I managed to fix that weird side effect the grab glitch fix was causing.

However, his left foot (L_toe) was severed because of it and I couldn't do it any other way.
It was either fixing the glitch 100% or saving his left foot, and I chose the first.
The model importer is needed to save his foot AND fixing the glitch (as well as replacing the boneset with that of a Brawl character).
EDIT: tried to fix his left foot a bit, not very well but at least a bit nicer that before:

You could either do the Side-Taunt or the Down-Taunt (for the Down-Taunt you'll need to edit the name in his PSA to AppealLw).

i just got done playing with the char and I'm impressed with how he's working. Amazing stuff. Honestly, I see some stuff that needs work and what not but I do wonder... if I'm pointed into the right direction, I wouldn't mind attempting to give a hand at what ever I could learn and get working ^_^

sorry about the double post but i wanted to bump and say that we don't have a lot of the T-Stancing done, so naruto looks really odd when he fights
i think that we should focus on getting his hurt animations done
cuz that's were most of T-Stancing remains
another major area is his airials we need to get those done
and naruto will start to look like a real character with some fluid movement

im thinking about working on the damage ones

Fixed a glitch that when you escaped backwards or dodged on some stages with Naruto, he would fly of the screen and die.

hey! I just thought of a move. I dono if it was in Clash 3, but I know they took it outa every other Clash. now where's the link from the GC gif I made... Oh Here it is! Well, assistance in making animations is very well needed.
But I don't think the Sexy no Jutsu can be used (mainly because we don't have a model for it and File Size Limit/Article limitations).

I created that from naruto: Clash of Nina 2 on the gamecube using a Homebrew Hook. It let me pause the game, advance it frame by frame (though Clash 2 was picky and I missed some frames) and dump raw screen shots from the GC to the pc.

I kinda figured that would of been the case about The transformation. Woulda made a great counter (it acted much like Lucario's Double Team)

I'd love to help out with animating som'in but I'm still in the blue about BrawlBox and what I was supposed to extractfrom the iso (much less how).

Do you, by any change, have Naruto Clash on Ninja Revolution 2 for the Wii?
I just saw a vid from CoN Rev2 in which Naruto used the Sexy no Jutsu (please don't ask me against who) and that could possible be it.

If you get the hang of it, BrawlBox isn't that difficult to use.

I used to have Rev 2 but I don't remember Sexy... His usual input for sexy was Back..uhm.. A I think.. forgot the attack buttons. Anyways. Back A on Rev does Shadow clone jutsu. I know from Clash of Ninja 4 (jap) and up they removed Sexy. I'll have to double check that again sometime when I get around to adding games to my wfbs drive.

If you want to make animations, you could download the package from the previous page and go into the FitIkeMotion.pac file to create some animations.
Just be sure to edit the ones which aren't being worked on or finished.

it's all good sweety. But either way... I was thinking about doing the Back dodge where he does a back hand spring, but With the number system, I think that might be a bit far fetched to me now. If it was a Click/Drag system I prob would attempt it. I guess I could be a "clean up" girl if you guys don't mind.

EscapeF is the forward dodge, EscapeB is the backward dodge, EscapeN is the normal dodge (sidestep) and EscapeAir is the air dodge.

I found the escapeb and watched the bones... what's with the hipN and le? Also I think it was the ThrowN seams to get "dropped" to the floor. Prob when I know what those are doing I may get to work on bending the poor guy in ½.. erm... I ment, making him do a back hand spring.. yeah.. that's it..

Update/Edit: I haven't touched the animation yet since I'm still wondering what those 3 bones are doing. When I know why they are animating as they are I'll start my fai-- I mean, start my attempt at making the back flip.

Edit: Since I've gotten "Sick" at work, I'm gonna go ahead and work on a little of the animation. I'll attempt the pivits today and maybe work on other things that needs more details monday or som'in.

well I got him to bend his legs. Took me long enough but My problem is from frame 1 to 15 (which is my leg bend) he rotates and starts to bend his legs but he doesn't bring his legs forward... will I have to manually bring them forward?

Edit 2: There we go. back up to speed. he's still not bringing the knees forward..

Edit 3: I got it in game (though dodging will sometimes insta-kill him lol) and I may need to figure out now to stop him from sliding back when he crouches (or later when he lands on his hands)

interesting Update: Your Foot problem. I've found out that Brawl isn't 100% always reading the L_toe bone. I duplicated it in BrawlBox and the values are all 0. I wonder why it's doing that...

His L_toe bone is his TransN bone, without that he can't move.
As for dodging, Replace the Guard animation in BrawlBox with the one of CoN Naruto (it is T-pose, but it is unnoticeable ingame).
If that doesn't work, please send me then your EscapeB so that I can look at what the error is.

I've been able to get my animation cleaned up. Figured out what went wrong and everything. I'm currently on frame 40 outa the default 50 that came with the file. Am I aloud to surpass that, since I'm ½ way through the dodge?

Update: I'm 99% done. Having trouble figuring out how to get him to move in game when I use dodge.

really sorry guys im jsut really busy this summer
i have a job and SAT class (if u don't know what that is it's a standardized test U.S. kids have to take)
i'll work on a couple animations soon!

EDIT: added the new motion pac with fallspecial and fallspecialB
wat are the animations when ur running and u do an attack?

yeah i know but like when ur running and u attack which are like the regular attacks idk the specific names for them but when i play i use those alot so it looks really stupid when he's in a T stance
if u could give me like a list of those i could try to work on some..

*chin scratch* as far as i know of the only Dash attack I know of that'd T atm would be a sliding smash. He already has that rolling tackle attack that was added about what, page 3 of the post? The other thing I could think of was just adding his attack for that slot. A "walk' (well kinda tilt) would pull out a T i do believe...

Done means it's working. Working means someone's already working on building the animation. Blanks I'm sure are the one's that not got an animation artist assigned to it.

I have some animation ideas for ThrowB, ThrowF, and ThrowLw... but I have a problem. I made the CatchWait and everytime i grab someone it looks like they are giving naruto Head (though the Sakura skin over pit oddly fit that picture nicely..). I've tried moving the ThrowN around but I get the same result. Any help would be great ^_^

sorry about the Double. Is there any way to stop him from blinking Black? It's driving me nuts with my ingame tests.

On a good note though I got EscapeN and CatchWait done. i was going to do the throws but I dono how the grabbed chars will react... would make the arm length hard to judge.

Atm I have CatchWait (http://www.mediafire.com/?ve4599131ok0yvv), EscapeB (http://www.mediafire.com/?eexzqcfys7fyejb), and EscapeN (http://www.mediafire.com/?afiykhdccmc7scr). Catch Wait was easy enough to do. You guys already know about my EscapeB. EscapeN Was within the already default frames so I did a swift work with it. Also attempted using the mouth bones which came out really good. It's hard to see though with the black flashing of the model.

I would work on the throws but with CatchWait making the chars giving head, I'm worried about trying to make the animation to properly animate the foe being thrown.

hey guys im really sorry about ditching this project
but i've really kinda moved on from it I'll still help you guys out but i don't really think that I'll be contributing a lot until maybe a lot later in the year? or maybe next year? idk when but i'll def be working on this project as soon as my Starcraft 2 high is over and there is a slow point in school.  I'm actually working on a weekly manga too with a couple of my friends I'm actually thinking about a lot of projects I'm going to be working on.  I might even try to revive my youtube channel from the grave and make it into something regarding my manga.  Well I hope you guys are still working hard i really hope that we can eventually finish this project, or more games come out that we can use the animations because our team is small and we have few workers.  I  guess the best choice would be to recruit people willing to work at least once a week.  Thanks for sticking with this project so far guys I  hope we'll eventually finish..

I actually stopped working on the Naruto import myself a few weeks ago (hence why I requested the Naruto vertex).

i just looked back at brawl hacks like 2 days ago and im so suprised how good the mewtwo is
i mean i guess vertex hacks are the new thing instead of imports right? less work

Vertexes are indeed easier (especially with DasDonkeyBox 2.0).
And you should download Cloud Kong.

If I'm right about what your saying, then no, it isn't that easy.

Is this still gonna be the same PSA for Naruto using CoN or are you gonna start a different PSA for an EX3 Naruto?
This uses CoN Naruto, but the import is currently stalled anyway.

But is the import still going to be continued since if it's using the CoN PSA and an Ike vertex? If not this is no different then just using the PSA from the thread and using the vertex from fireking.

Just checking because if the import isn't being done, and neither is a new PSA, this thread will have lost it's purpose and should be locked since nothing new is being made and the vertex and PSA have their own threads after all.

when i started it i imagined we would have a GIANT team but that didn't happen
