Title: Triple Rasta Post by: Don Jon Bravo on June 06, 2013, 02:00:49 AM (http://cdn.memegenerator.net/instances/400x/38468818.jpg) Yes Sir, Uh huh. Its a code I have been working for a while and is finally stable for an initial release. Thanks to Deathwolf take on the file patch code, I was able to edit his code, port it to NTSC-U, and eliminate the need of button activators. So big credits to Deathwolf... So what is this triple rasta I speak off, you may ask your self Well, its a code that allows you to have 3 RSBE folders, and able to navigate through them in game. With 3 RSBE folders, you can have 3 sets of stages, 3 sets of movesets, 3 sets of music files, and 3 sets of characters (that would give you a total of 18 costumes per character...) *holds breath* How does it work? Simple. It uses what I like to call, an "icon activator" In this initial version of the code, we will be using a clone Kirby. You will need to have a custom CSS, with a clone kirby because we need his clone bone id(bone 46), as part of the icon activator. So what would happen is that everytime you pick the "clone kirby", it will call upon our code so you can switch into your new roster and bring upon all hacks from your new folder you can even do this back and forth. If you want to take it to the extreme, you can even play between PSA's of characters of different rosters. Here is a video of how it works: [ssbb hacks] Intro to Triple Rasta (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDBuxai7NSI#) Ill include my codes(in gct format), and a setup for the folders for your convenience here (http://d.gethopper.com/govfbeVU1ZtxpdDVract6ZXnTQb7/setup.zip) What is included and all you need: Lets start with the codes 1. file patch code 3.5.1 2. triple rasta via kirby activator 3. custom css 4. css fix for giga and company V2 5. character id fix 2.1 6. CSS fixes for Samus/ZSS and Zelda/Sheik V2.1(optional) 7. Css fix(optional-depending on the way you want to set up your CSS icons) For your convenience: 7. can start match with only one player 8. pick any color you want Next is your folders You will need the regular setup but with 2 extra RSB folders(RSB2, RSB3)"private/wii/app/" And that is it, that is all you need. :kdance: Some notes and listed plans. -at the moment only player 1 can activate the code when picking the clone kirby, i do plan on adding availability for other players to do so too. Player 1 can have any type of controller(wiimote, gamecube controller, classic controller, etc.)-if you want different rosters in training mode, you have to activate the code while inside brawl character selection screen, and then go to training mode to see the new rosters. Will work on code for this. -if you fight two of the same characters but from different folders, the texture costumes will show up in game but both characters will share the same moveset. The moveset that appears in game is sometimes random but will belong to one of the two characters. It will take some heavy rel editing to get this to work. -I would also like to work in making the code so that you never have to leave the character selection screen to see your new roster some rules -in order to swap between character selection screens with no problems, you have to reset your icon activator by simply pointing at any other character other than kirby before choosing kirby - when you are in your second character selection screen, the only way to continue swapping folders is by choosing kirby at least twice. will work on that to upgrade the code -your menu music needs to be the same for all 3 folders, if not: nothing harmful will happen but you may get some music desync while you are in the menu screen. ids for menu music are X02.brstm and X03.brstm kirby falcon punch remix download here (http://d.gethopper.com/k3LRqnBadxTNNQGXHBho0MPg251r/kirbyfalcosong.brstm) -when you choose a character from one folder, and switch to another roster, the character's portrait will change, but since the character was previously chosen, the game has already loaded the correct character. And that is pretty much it Also forgot to say, this code also works with alloys. If you do choose to add alloys, kirby will be the green alloy when you choose to play with him. You will need to add all the necessary alloy codes. If you dont choose to add alloys, you will simply play as a random kirby hack you may have in any of your rosters. Any questions or concerns feel free to ask Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: shadowXtreme on June 06, 2013, 07:51:10 AM this sounds.. beautiful .. T_T
Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Akeno/Archer on June 06, 2013, 08:04:57 AM this sounds.. beautiful .. T_T I agreeQuestions : Does it mean you can have 3 costumes for Game and Watch? Like for example Naruto over GW + Roy over GW + Shadow over GW? with their respective .rel files? You have to name the folders RSB(X)2 and 3, I want to play my 1st character in the 1st roster against another character in the 2nd roster, then I choose my stage (imagine the stage is the same for both rosters...), I've 2 musics called X05, which one will play? the 1st one or the 2nd one? Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: SonicBrawler on June 06, 2013, 09:24:18 AM sweet
Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: ToadKart on June 06, 2013, 11:58:58 AM Will I need to get rid of the RSB4 folder from your previous FPC to get this to work?
Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: DoctorFlux(Mariodk) on June 06, 2013, 01:00:46 PM now we just needing to have sound effects works with this xD
for first time ever since 10 slots on textures+this i got my 2gb SD card full Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: shadowXtreme on June 06, 2013, 03:21:29 PM No freezes on yoshis, marios, or diddys,.. this code is pure gold..
Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: SonicBrawler on June 06, 2013, 03:25:45 PM you have given me a reason to play brawl again
once SFX work better than on the FP 4.0 beta, then i will fully get back into it Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: secretchaos1 on June 06, 2013, 03:49:46 PM I'm not all that interested in this for characters since I feel 10 costumes per slot is more than enough for me as it is, however I'd be more interested to see how this benefits stage selection expansion, since you claim it can give us 3 times the stages.
Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Don Jon Bravo on June 06, 2013, 05:31:07 PM I agree 1.yes you can, but i would imagine you would be better off sticking to the folder where the corresponding rel file is located before entering a match, unless the game saves the rel data together with the character data as soon as you pick the character(may be possible)Questions : Does it mean you can have 3 costumes for Game and Watch? Like for example Naruto over GW + Roy over GW + Shadow over GW? with their respective .rel files? You have to name the folders RSB(X)2 and 3, I want to play my 1st character in the 1st roster against another character in the 2nd roster, then I choose my stage (imagine the stage is the same for both rosters...), I've 2 musics called X05, which one will play? the 1st one or the 2nd one? 2. the second one will play because the 2nd folder would be activated lastly Will I need to get rid of the RSB4 folder from your previous FPC to get this to work? nope avi. just rename it to RSBE or RSB2 or RSB3 now we just needing to have sound effects works with this xD XDfor first time ever since 10 slots on textures+this i got my 2gb SD card full I'd be more interested to see how this benefits stage selection expansion, since you claim it can give us 3 times the stages. It works with the stage expansion code, which means you can have 3 expansion sets of stages...Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: ToadKart on June 06, 2013, 07:14:07 PM nope avi. just rename it to RSBE or RSB2 or RSB3 Sorry, what I meant was could I keep RSB4 in addition to RSB2 and RSB3, thus having 4 sets of folders? Basically my plan would be to just have one folder's worth of character textures, but have 4 sets of stages. Default folder would be every SSB/Melee/Brawl stage, second would be Mario/Mario spin-off stages, third would be every other Nintendo series stages, and fourth would be 3rd party stages. I realize this might exceed 2gb so there probably wouldn't be much point in having 4 folders anyway(though my stages folder isn't even as big as the character and music folders), but it would be pretty cool if possible. Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Don Jon Bravo on June 06, 2013, 07:18:20 PM its possible,
i can even add more folders(infite) but the toggable options are very picky so this is the best way i can get it to work at the moment Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: ToadKart on June 06, 2013, 07:42:51 PM Ok, thank you. Between having to setup 3 folders of stages with this and having to go through the entirety of the vault again for cBliss, I will be pretty busy lol.
Great time to be a SSB fan with these codes and SSB4 news less than a week away. :af2: Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Kaaoeyi on June 06, 2013, 08:16:45 PM I'm guessing you have to remove FPC 3.5.3 from your gct and re-add 3.5.1, along with Triple Rasta?

Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: shadowXtreme on June 07, 2013, 04:42:13 PM Mr. MW I have a small request, can you make this code to use two folders instead of three?
For example (RSBE and RSB2 only),.. ?, thanks and sorry If this bothers you D: Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Don Jon Bravo on June 07, 2013, 06:11:59 PM this looks amazing xD i will try this out, guess i can keep the first rsbe with all the default brawl chars and the other 2 with hacks i want :P just have a doubt does the stage expansion ssbm/64 works with this method? since it uses 2 gcts one on the outside and one on the inside of the rsbes i know it works with the stage expansion codebut idk about the ssbm/64 thingy but your pal arent u? this code has been tested only on ntscu atm :/ Mr. MW I have a small request, can you make this code to use two folders instead of three? yes. ill be making two codes as an update to filepatch 3.5.3 this weekendFor example (RSBE and RSB2 only),.. ?, thanks and sorry If this bothers you D: one with icon activator one with button activator Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Carnage on June 07, 2013, 06:50:27 PM i have a pal disc but now i can run usb gx and i run an ntsc brawl iso xD i tested this and it works great xD and yeah the person that did the ssbm/ 64 expansion thing used a diferent method so i dont really know how to integrate it here, but his 2 gct methods could maybe be usefull to you since each rsbe would have its own codes this would be nice for sound hacks of rel ports and such so we dont repace the soundbank of all 3 rsbes

MrUnusual has been able to get the character expansion system(with alloys) to work with the N64/Melee expansion, so maybe there would be a way to get the multiple GCT's to work with those as well. http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=32412 (http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=32412) Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: superben2008 on June 13, 2013, 01:03:46 AM can we get it to work on riivolution? without using the file patch code? i want to use this to get 3 times the stages.

Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Don Jon Bravo on June 14, 2013, 08:39:47 PM riivo would take a different approach
i would have to look into how mr.bean got Mario Kart able to load 150 custom race tracks with riivo not saying that i will any time soon Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Sanitys_Theif on June 18, 2013, 06:12:36 PM riivo would take a different approach i would have to look into how mr.bean got Mario Kart able to load 150 custom race tracks with riivo not saying that i will any time soon That would be great, with Riivo there's so much space to use, I run through 2GB without even getting custom music for every stage :/ I would think the approach would be similar to how people got the extra stages to work right? Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Don Jon Bravo on June 18, 2013, 06:18:37 PM i was looking at it today
first i need to make a menu patch no idea how *scratches head* Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: ToadKart on June 19, 2013, 11:53:36 PM Hmm, I can't get this to work. I added the longer FPC and the Triple Rasta code to my gct(I already had all the other codes and the alloys on my CSS), and I put one stage in the RSB2 folder, but when I pick the Kirby alloy icon it's still the original stage.
I thought maybe I needed your custom CSS code(even though I already had my own and customized the icon positions), but all that did was mess up my CSS and I still couldn't get the alternate stage to load. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Don Jon Bravo on June 20, 2013, 04:26:29 PM Hmm, I can't get this to work. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. you need to first make sure you are in the rsb2 folder you can do this by relying on the csps look at ur csps from ur rsb2 folder sc_selcharacter if they are showing up in game it means u are in your rsb2 folder only than will the stage from rsb2 folder appear. make sure your folders are named correctly also make sure 46 is somewhere in your CSS code that is the bone id for kirby clone Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: ToadKart on June 20, 2013, 04:44:02 PM Do the other folders need everything in them or will they just load whats in the RSBE folder if there's nothing there? It won't even load different CSP's after clicking on the second Kirby icon, going to the SSS and then going back to the CSS.
These are all the necessary codes right? 1. file patch code 3.5.1 2. triple rasta via kirby activator 3. custom css 4. css fix for giga and company V2 5. character id fix 2.1 I already have these 2 as well: 6. CSS fixes for Samus/ZSS and Zelda/Sheik V2.1(optional) 7. Css fix(optional-depending on the way you want to set up your CSS icons) I have them all, though I have my own custom css code that I posted in my last post. Not sure if that's what's causing the problem or not. When I tried using your custom css code, my icons were all over the place(probably due to me using the CSS organizer on my custom CSS) and it still didn't work. Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Carnage on June 21, 2013, 12:55:57 AM remenber you have to choose kirby twice and you must go back and forth on the SSS so the css updates
Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: ToadKart on June 21, 2013, 01:11:41 AM Yeah, I did. I tried some different combinations like clicking on it once and going to the SSS, clicking on it twice and going to the SSS, clicking it once then picking a different character, etc.
Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Don Jon Bravo on June 21, 2013, 08:04:55 PM are u doing it fromt the first controller?
Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: ToadKart on June 21, 2013, 09:36:01 PM Yep, a Wii controller. No Gamecube controllers are plugged in.
Edit: If it helps, here is my entire codeset. Maybe I have too many codes or there are some incompatible codes? Ugh, I really don't know why this won't work for me.
Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Don Jon Bravo on June 25, 2013, 07:32:20 PM why dont you try using the pack i posted on the op?
a regular css with different icons just to test and we can go from there Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: ToadKart on June 25, 2013, 10:42:47 PM I tired just using your GCT file, but it messed up my CSS icons(some were off screen and overlapping each other) and it froze at the SSS. I'm using the stage expansion code, and I don't think that was in the GCT posted in the OP because the SSS didn't have very many stages which caused it to freeze.
Do you have a text version of all your codes or could upload all of the folders and hacks that were in the video as a pack? I could probably get it to work from there, but besides starting with a clean slate and using the GCT in the OP, I can't get it to work with my current setup. Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Revan on September 01, 2013, 10:58:48 AM Hey I hope i'm not necroposting with this, but i'm just curious if any progress is being made toward making this godsend compatible with Riivo. I remember someone bringing this up before because of the obvious filesize issues, and I was hoping to maybe rekindle a desire to get it working on Riivo.
My own SD is about 1.7 gigs, and thats with the stage expansion, cBliss, and a fair amount of PSAs, but no more than 10. I was considering moving back to Gecko just to be able to use Triple Rasta, especially now that they figured out sfx hacks for it. That is, until I saw the size of my SD, and that really got me thinking about how it seems that Riivo is almost necessary to use Triple Rasta to its fullest extent, at least with cBliss and that Stage Expansion in the picture. I'm really not sure how big my SD would be without those, but the SE, Cbliss, and Triple Rasta are about the most groundbreaking things to be developed for brawl modding, at least in my opinion. Mr. MW, I dont really know what it would take to get it working on Riivo at this point, Im not much a programmer at all so I've just got my opinion, but It would be the best thing ever if you could pick up getting this working on Riivo again. There are so many PSAs out there and only so much room, with the physical roster size and gecko's filesize working against us hackers, you would be helping out the lot. Thanks for your time MW, I really do love your work. Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Don Jon Bravo on September 01, 2013, 01:42:41 PM the only problem that has not let me go foward on riivo is that this code is heavily based on the file patch code.
it affects the file patch code which then affects the name of the folder of where the hacks are stored. as the file patch code is an "on the fly" system, hacks can be exchanged simultaneously. as opposed to riivo, it is possible that riivo does not allow for this "on the fly" system. meanig it only loads hacks once. also, the directories for your hacks are hard coded into riivo, so instead of affecting folders from the file patch code you would have to affect folders from within riivo; i would have to find a code that messes with riivos internal memory. being that the file patch code now suports sfx, and that i already figured how to apply sfx to any roster, i see little future in riivo progress. the only way i would check riivo out, is if i find a way to do what mr.bean200mvr did with mkwii(he added about 125 custom stages) but giving it a quick glance i dont remember seeing any codes, just a buch of xmls and folders. at the moment im working on adding css icons from two folders into one screen, giving the advantage of not having to refresh ur css in order to see ur new hackset... Wow... 3 packs of sc_selcharacter on 1 screen... Is that even possible?!it affects the file patch code which then affects the name of the folder of where the hacks are stored. as the file patch code is an "on the fly" system, hacks can be exchanged simultaneously. as opposed to riivo, it is possible that riivo does not allow for this "on the fly" system. meanig it only loads hacks once. also, the directories for your hacks are hard coded into riivo, so instead of affecting folders from the file patch code you would have to affect folders from within riivo; i would have to find a code that messes with riivos internal memory. being that the file patch code now suports sfx, and that i already figured how to apply sfx to any roster, i see little future in riivo progress. the only way i would check riivo out, is if i find a way to do what mr.bean200mvr did with mkwii(he added about 125 custom stages) but giving it a quick glance i dont remember seeing any codes, just a buch of xmls and folders. at the moment im working on adding css icons from two folders into one screen, giving the advantage of not having to refresh ur css in order to see ur new hackset... I mean... Screen would have to be huge, or icons would be very small... Is it possible with a... "cBliss-ish" way? Having them in the CSPs... Or Like... Being able to switch CSS with a button or something like this? I see thats too bad. I'll stay tuned to this Topic to see if any development is made for Riivo. But having all the css icons on one screen sounds insanely cool, though once again to fill every slot with different PSAs still sounds pretty improbable with a 2 gig limit. Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Don Jon Bravo on September 04, 2013, 01:34:14 AM The thing with this code is that you dont need to fill every slotl; the game will just load default iso costumes/psa's if it does not detect any hacks installed at certain folder
Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Revan on September 04, 2013, 12:59:09 PM I was guessing as much, but if every extra icon is on the same css you'll have several instances where there are, for exaple three Toon Link icons, or two Donkey Kong icons, all on the same screen without purpose. Maybe if it was possible to only use a few extra Icons from say, the second roster to use the limited PSAs that are allowed, avoiding a cluttered CSS.
Title: Re: Triple Rasta Post by: Don Jon Bravo on September 04, 2013, 03:44:30 PM well actually its possible at the moment to add 3 extra psa's.
even a total of 18 more PSA's from a second folder But: i dont know if to per-sue it, as the amount of seperate csp's and css icons are limited. its based on this system which replaces zss, but in this case we use 3 extra icons... http://youtu.be/slbswEXhbmM (http://youtu.be/slbswEXhbmM) |
