Title: SSBB Model Help *Not about Model Importing* Post by: Garry Moore™ on June 15, 2013, 04:51:29 PM Hi. I'm beginning to make 3D models. What polygon budget do I need to stay under for a character?
Title: Re: SSBB Model Help *Not about Model Importing* Post by: Garry Moore™ on June 21, 2013, 09:42:38 PM Is there anyone that can help me out? I just need an estimated number of polygons that I need to stay under before I begin to skin my model (my model is almost to that point now).
Title: Re: SSBB Model Help *Not about Model Importing* Post by: Renova on June 21, 2013, 10:42:39 PM I'm pretty sure it's 6k.

EDIT: If that is an accurate estimate, then I'm doing well. I'm at a bit over 2000 polygons right now with only one or two things to add. Gives me room to perhaps connect some edges and smooth it out. Thanks again! Title: Re: SSBB Model Help *Not about Model Importing* Post by: Renova on June 22, 2013, 11:43:35 AM Refer to this thread:

Title: Re: SSBB Model Help *Not about Model Importing* Post by: GentlemanPotato on June 22, 2013, 12:41:14 PM Depends on the character you're gonna put it over. If you open a character's file in BrawlBox then look at their model your can see how many polygons it has. Try to remain under that amount. Its usually about 10-12K.

Nah, I won't push it. I probably would try it normally, but I can't even play Brawl right now on my Wii because someone is borrowing it at the moment, and I won't rely on an emulator for a lag test. Thanks for that link Renova. That really helped in a number of ways. Title: Re: SSBB Model Help *Not about Model Importing* Post by: Renova on June 22, 2013, 08:27:18 PM No prob.
