You've probably noticed by now that the KCMM Blog (http://kc-mm.com/) is pretty lifeless. It gets an update once every 2 months at best. Its not any of our team member's fault, we were rather foolish to stick to the old hacking team formula anyway. I remember when people would form new hacking teams every two seconds in an attempt to copy Syntax Error or some other one of the bigger teams. As brawl hacking went on, this team formula became incredibly obsolete.

So what are we planning to do about it? Instead of recruit more members to the team and repeating this again in half a year, we've decided to work out a new system. We've decided to ditch the entire team formula entirely.


We're looking for people who spend a lot of time on Brawl Vault (http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php) to find new and decent hacks and to make articles about them on the KCMM blog. Hopefully this will get things moving again.  and hey its free publicity for hackers, thats always good right?



What is expected of these "Blog Curators"

-Find decent hacks on Brawl vault and type up a brief article about it to feature it on our blog
--Do that maybe once a week, possibly more, but it be best not to flood the blog.

These blog posts are meant to promote quality, originality and know-how. They are not meant to shame less talented hackers. Forum rules still apply on the blog.


The requirements for this position are:
-Fluently speak English
-Know how to navigate Brawl Vault.
-Spend a reasonable time on the Vault to best hand pick the hack you want to showcase.
-Have a good taste in hacks
-Actual Hacking skills are not required, thought it doesn't hurt to know what you're talking about.


Its a pretty simple job, but what are the benefits?
A Custom User group, with a new name color, stars, the works.
Ability to set a custom title by yourself
A Blog account capable of posting on the KCMM Blog
Miacis will love you

This is pretty similar to the features we used to do, but instead the blog will be made up of nothing but features.Basically its a project to use our blog to give some recognition to lesser known hackers.

I spend an unhealthy amount of time on the forums and vault daily, admittedly. I'd totally be willing to do it, count me in!

I wouldn't mind doing this, i check BV daily for hacks to approve and such.

This is a great idea, hope you guys get things moving soon.

Actually I mulled it over and I'd like to volunteer to write up some hack features. Between making CSPs and modding the Vault, I see plenty of hacks. Plus I do enjoy writing.

I spend far more time lurking around the vault (nearly daily) for awesome hacks and repairing broken ones then actually posting, so I volunteer my hands to the cause. Treat them well.

Im on here more than I think i should. And I obviously know my way around the vault. I would enjoy doing this.

I check this site for new hacks multiple times a day, and I find lots of cool, older hacks after digging through the vault for a couple of hours. Count me in if there is still an open seat!

As someone who spends way too much time here, it sounds like an awesome idea. I'm always marveling at the works of hackers on the vault and would love to read what other people think of the hacks too. I already follow many hackers' personal blogs like Tock's Project M Unlocked tumblr, an entire blog dedicated to everyone's hacks would be ideal for me.

Glad to see all the support this ideas getting. Would be nice if we could get some traffic going to the blog again.

I'm counting at least 10 so far. That should be good to get the ball rolling, right?

Yeah, but not everyone is being made into one. We'll probably start of with 3-5. :P

I would love to. I go on brawl vault almost everyday so I guess it dosent hurt to try.

Even though I can't make mods anymore currently, I still browse the vault and I'd love to do this.

a lot of people are offering volunteer i see, i'd like to offer myself as well, i too spend too much time on the vault and forums, so while im at it, i could as well make something out of it...

Unfortunately for you two, we had already established our list of candidates before the latest two posts. Be sure however that everyone who has volunteered (here or by PM) will have another chance if we ever need more people for the job.

As you'll notice, we tried to pick a rather diversified team instead of going exclusively for big posters and renowned hackers. We also use a slightly fancier group name, although it's still very much up to change.

Well, since we have our Blog Curators chosen. I'm going to lock for the time being.

Well, we've lost 2 of our curators. Both SJS and Segtendo are no longer part of it.

If you're still looking, I'd love to volunteer for this. I browse Brawl Vault every day routinely, looking for new hacks. XD Is there a certain app I have to fill out ((didn't see one on the first page)), or is my word of interest enough?

Count my butt in, it should be fun doing a little promotion for the hidden stars of the vault.

As for me. I'd be more than willing to write for the KC:MM blog, especially for those unseen mods that are so well-done, yet so not-so-many downloads that deserve them. Also writing is an art form for me.

Well, if the spot isn't already filled, I would like to apply for being a Blog Curator.

I'm on the forums and the Vault almost everyday and i always keep a look out on whats new and intresting.
I may not look like it, but when I'm given a task to do, I'll do it with as much charisma and positive additude as I possibly can.
Finding hacks that deserve reconigtion is what i want to help out with the Vault.
I really would put a lot of effort in to discovering mods and hacks that can be deemed as a prime feature for the Vault and display to people the hacks that are really unique and amazing that some might or maybe never even heard of.
I would do a ton of effort into doing so. Anything for the Vault.
I know you some people might see that yellow marker below my name and think that I'm a nuisence
to the forums, but i want to show the forums i can do better than this. I want to show how much i can improve. I want to help and would do anything to show it.
So basiclally, I'm very intrested in this.

If I don't become a moderator, I'd LOVE to do this, I spend A LOT of time on this site, looking at really cool hacks that I'd only wish people could blog about. People REALLY deserve some recognition for their awesome hacks. When I get home from school (or rehearsal for my musical) I spend most of my time on this site and trying out new hacks. :D

Allow me to reiterate the important stuff applicants need to know:

Because green stars are awesome Because I spend a lot of my free time here, it would be nice to give back to the forums, and to let people know the hacks I believe should get more attention (or not) but are very good nonetheless.

Good rigs, fabulous textures, and smooth animations.

Hacks that I'd enjoy, and just new creations that came out recently.

I'd say you have done an amazing job, and if they still hacked keep up the good work, but just that they should come back sometime because they stopped.

Using the blog to promote stuff sounds awesome so the things that aren't retarded Sonic OCs that are really kewl can be exposed to a greater number of people.

School, Xbox, Airsoft, playing Brawl with little sister(Like a testing bed). And occasionally eating or sleeping.

Model imports or PSAs in particular, though I give every mod that gets uploaded here a look unless its an item or music (Those are like the simplest things, I just use the ones I made for myself)
5. What do you usually browse the Vault for?
PSAs or imports for the characters I play with the most(Ike and Wario) or any interesting ports. Or if the name of it is a familiar character and its only a texture I still DL it
6. Do you have pets, if so, what's their name?
2 Cats, Goldy and Pickles(Don't question it)
7. If you met your favorite hacker, what would you say to them?
Is it wrong if don't have a favorite hacker?

We decided we're ending applications tomorrow (May 1st)

as we already a have 18 people to consider, and will probably up the amount we take in from 3 to 5-6.

1.Well, I want this position to make people who aren't that popular, but do good work, some attention.

2. Nope. This will be the first time if I get the position.

3. I usually read a book, or draw.

4. Mainly Fire Emblem, LoZ, Mario, and Pokemon anything. But I do notice every new hack that gets posted

5. All sorts of stuff.  I mainly search for recolors and imports, but when I find an amazing PSA, I usually search for more. Never been much of a stage or music gal.

I've always wanted to help others with thier hacks succeed in popularity. I want to show them that they can be as well noticed like the other hacker's with their works. I want them to feel the sensation of achieving something.

Yes i have. I have made numerous blogs from many site's.

3. When you aren’t lurking the Vault, how do you spend your time?
I spend most of my time off the forum's getting my major in debate in college , but since i dont have a life, i usually go to the forums and see how i can improve in my skills in handling criticism where it's needed.

4. When you browse the Vault, what kid of Mods catch your attention?
Usually mods that show workmanship and determination.
This can go for textures aswell (like an original design) i see this mostly when i look in the description or when i talk to the person who made the hack in a PM conversation.

5. What do you usually browse the Vault for?
Lots of things. Textures, Imports,PSA, anything. But i mostly look for textures and custom models.

6. Do you have pets, if so, what's their name?
First pet is named Nibbles, she's a old dog. The second one is another dog named Berry. The third one is yet another dog named Benji. Lastly i have two turtles and Mike and George.

Word's wouldn't describe how excited i would be to meet him. But on a serious note i would say "omg i love your hacks!"

8. How are you feeling today?
I feel pretty good. I just want to feel better to gain the trust of the Brawl Vault team and show how much i can help with the site.

I want this position, because I want to put my grammar skills to good use, along with recognizing hackers with little or no attention, but whom, of which, have decent hacks. Also, my friend, Akeno Ryuko, another Blog Curator, recommended it to me.

2. Have you written for a blog before?

Yes, I have written for a couple of blogs, actually. I mainly wrote for blogs about gaming.

3. When you aren’t lurking the Vault, how do you spend your time?

Whenever I am not roaming around the Vault, I am playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl. (I play that game non-stop)

4. When you browse the Vault, what kind of Mods catch your attention?

Out of the entirety of the Vault, I would have to say that Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Halo hacks really catch my eye.

5. What do you usually browse the Vault for?

I usually roam around the Vault, searching for good Model hacks, PSA hacks, and sometimes even Texture hacks and Music hacks.

6. Do you have pets, if so, what's their name?

I have 2 dogs: Lucy, a female Great Dane, and Max, a male Harlequin.

7. If you met your favorite hacker, what would you say to them?

I would probably say that they are my all-time idol when it comes to PSA and Model hacking.

I am feeling very ecstatic, today.
