Hello there, I'm french so forgive me in advance if my english is bad. So let's talk about this topic, I created it for one reason I uploaded two times my CSPs with brawl colors on Smash 4 portraits but were deleted I didn't know that wasn't allowed so I'll share them here. Only brawl characters will be done so no Rosalina, Megaman, etc for the moment because I don't know their other skins. I'm not a pro so there're probably imperfections sorry about that. Hope you'll like it. If anyone wants to contribute DON'T HESITATE help is always welcome.

Good stuff.

Yo this is pretty real. The background is a little too chaotic for me, but the portrait work is nothing short of amazing. I'd love to see this finished.

You may want to fix certain parts. Mainly things like Bowser's bracelets for his brown and black colors, they're dark in comparison to the in game model.
Also you may want to resize so people wont have to do it themselves

But oh baby I cannot wait to see this done. Though Im sure certain brawl characters wont be in Smash 4 so there not be a CSP for everyone :(

Thanks for the comment for the bracelets I was based on the default csps and I didn't notice changes on these.
Otherwise yeah it's the bad thing for sure all brawl characters won't be in Smash 4 so it will be an incomplete pack :(. The wii size version is now available ^^.
And don't hesitate to do yours I'm pretty sure they will be much better than mine you're certainly more talented than me.

These look awesome, man! Y'know, you should try to make some via BrawlBox and render them with Photoshop... And just call them Sm4sh style. I'm sure with the talent you have, you can achieve it ;)

UPDATE: Marth, Samus, Toon Link added.

There's SO MUCH imperfections on theses portraits so I decide to redo all the stuff at zero I keep these portraits between the new ones are coming I'll improve the size and quality it will take more time but I think the result will be better hope you'll enjoy ^^ I update the portraits as soon as possible I'll provide the ssb4 characters (Mega Man for example) too but only the original skin no recolors or maybe for requests in the future I promise :p.

He's/She's  just recoloring character portraits from the SSB4 Official website, that's where the HD is coming from

UPDATE: Bowser, Donkey Kong, Fox, Link, Luigi and Kirby are improved in Ultra HD.
Original Mega Man, Rosaline & Luma, Villager and Wii Fit Trainer added in Ultra HD.

It's not totally true because I have to render it and like you can see with Kirby or Bowser for example the resolution is much higher than on SSB4 Official website and I'm a man :p.

It's okay. The bevel really makes it stick out, it's what I noticed right away. The texture could be better, it doesn't really look 3D the way it is now, since it lacks perspective. Check the other characters like link and Mario for examples on how to do that sort of texture. Finally, the drop shadow looks really off, especially since it looks like it was just thrown on top of the image. I'd suggest painting the shadows on yourself, it'll give a much better look.

Curious how you're going to do the other hats, though.

Thanks for the advices I really appreciate I'm really novice on it, it is my first try I'm experimenting many things. I knew it doesn't look 3D (it's very basic like you can see especially with your graphist level :p) I just wanted to be sure thanks for confirm it. Much better than before, though the fold seems unnecessary. The one ingame is much more tight to Pikachu's head, whereas this one is pretty loose.

Thanks ^^. I understand what you're saying but the pikachu's head size on brawl portrait isn't the same there's much more space on his forehead so it is difficult to do exactly same. For the fold I think it looks more realistic than without. If you can try to make one it would be amazing.

Alright, I can sorta understand that. Maybe if you shape it more so it's going down on the back of his head rather than like it's just sitting on his forehead loosely?

Though, I'm still not sure about the fold. The way it's tight to Pikachu's head in Brawl makes it look like it won't really move around much while Pikachu's moving, but with the fold it looks like it's ready to fall over Pikachu's eyes any minute. Might just be me, though.

Red: Seems to have the same problems as the old green one. A softer shadow, better lighting, and more realistic texture might fix it (the current texture kinda looks like leather, a more cloth-like one might it better?)

Yeah I'll think about it later, for the moment I give up pikachu and continue the other characters thanks for taking care about my work ^^.

But don't worry I understand your point of view, I wanted this looks like the brawl one but with a "modern" touch more SSB4 graphic-design style, in my ming I thought about a knot behind his head if you see what I mean.

For the red one I'll improve it for sure, I agree for the cloth texture thanks.

New HUD much closer to Smash 4 created by me and Yami 2b. Will surely be improved in future.

Changes made:

Two questions with your HUD:

1) Are you using the proper font (DFHei<A,C,E>.ttc) for the in-battle names? I can't get any decent shots to see.

2) Is the reason you don't have the black outlines for the name text due to how Brawl assigns transparency to those textures? If not, is it possible to do that and make it more accurate to what's there now?

1)Nope the font doesn't exist it's handmade.

2)Can't do anything Brawl assigns transparency like a "glow". It may be modified but don't know how.

I think he's talking about the way they're masked. Specifically, this area I've noticed was a bit iffy:
It looks like the light grey part where the ear bends was a result of the mask bleeding over, and there's a slight halo of red around the eye iris. I've noticed a few spots on the other ones too, which I can point out if you'd like.

Hum I see I fixed it as much as possible think it's more accurate (there was space between the two masks) but like you can it's already on the original.

Incorrect. After the Little Mac trailer, I went on a search for the font, and actually found a match.

Yes, I also found the fonts for the Brawl name textures, so now there's no reason whatsoever to do copy/paste of letters for any new character name in Brawl.

Ah it's cool it spent time to remake the letters but what's the difference between a,c,e?

Thank you for making these.  I decided to make some matching CSPs to go with some of the costume mods I have.  They're not perfect, but I thought I'd share it here.

Almost, the mask for Greninja is better, you can still see some of the lighter spots are still getting coloured though.
For ZSS, around her hair has a blue halo, and the reflections on the metal are still reflecting the blue of her suit. The very edges of her still have blue as well.

Though good, these can be even better!

It seems the E is the perfect match. The difference is stroke weights, I think. Probably more noticeable in the japanese characters, but not so much for the latin ones.

You have to put the hud file like this sd>private>wii>app>rsbe>pf>info2>info_en.pac I suppose if it doesn't work I don't know sorry.

Hey, this hack looks really cool, but I can't get it to work. I insert the file into the pf/info2 folder, rename as info.pac, and my game freezes after the strap menu. I've had no trouble with other hacks/textures before, why might this be happening?

How do you boot the game?

Using Gecko. I've found alot of other people having problems with various info.pacs too but no solution. I suspect it's somehow conflicting with other hacks on my card but I wouldn't know where to start looking

Try it without other hacks.

I will, although It'd really serve me no purpose without my other hacks too, I'd like to find out what specifically is interfering but I don't know what could. What does the info.pac file control besides damage percent and "GO" screens? Is it possible that another location could control some of the same functions? Like for example your CSS imports Portraits, but from what I've read the "portrite" folder also contains files for portraits, although they don't seem to conflict

info.pac is for the entire HUD and no there's not other try maybe with an other iso.

Well I actually just realized that the pack I'm using already does have some subtle HUD modifications, like a different damage portrait for DK with yellow teeth, unless that's not considered part of the HUD, but there was no info.pac to begin with

For anyone else having problems with the info.pac, it has something to do with the file patch code. I replaced the one from the pack I have with the code from the source and it worked fine

Don't worry :p I'm still here like Kitsu says I'm really busy with the end of school so I don't know when I'll release the rest of the project the game comes out soon.

hey could you help me? i put the files onto the info2 folder and when i try to load the game it just stays loading the strap screen and doesn't load the game. Any ideas?

Try to launch the games with a clean iso and without other hacks with usb loader gx.

And, are these SSB4 recolors based on textures in the vault?

Because in this particular hack, Peach has a REALLY nice blue costume, and it'd be great to see that in HD.  Just a suggestion!

No it's based on vanilla brawl and some bonus skin from respective games of the characters. But when I have time I can do some popular textures on vault like PM.

What about the SSB4 palette swaps?  At a Smash 4 demo, someone recorded a video of all of the characters' different colors (the ones in the demo).

Most aren't different, but I'm only saying this because Zelda has this one palette swap that wasn't in Brawl, but does seem to appear in SSB4.  She's blonde and has a dark purple dress part.  (I don't think it's Melee, as Zelda's dress was pink, not a dark purple).

Zelda starts at 0:30.  The specific purple one I'm talking about is at 0:34.

I see for now I'm doing brawl skins and it's not finished yet :( but if anyone wants to do it it'll be great yes if not I will if people asks for it.
