Title: Project ReMiX (Alpha Download now Included) Post by: kanjaroo on July 19, 2014, 07:49:20 PM PROJECT ReMiX Alpha 1.0: https://www.dropbox.com/s/036ymaaizyt1noi/sd.zip (https://www.dropbox.com/s/036ymaaizyt1noi/sd.zip) Alpha 1.1:http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=205827 (http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=205827) (This is all I've done so far. It IS a lot but there's still LOTS of improvements to be made...) Project M + BrawlEX = An awesome balanced game where everyone has 10 costumes and 14 new characters added by the hacking community. This project is going to be about adding more possibilities to the awesome concept and engine of Project M. I've given every character 10 costumes and added 14 characters. I've been working on this project on and off for a long time now and I think I've reached the point where its too time consuming and burdensome for me to work on perfecting it myself with no feedback or help to go off of. So, I'm hoping the community can hop on and help me finish this effort for perfection I've started. I, actually, don't want us to even be a specific group of developers like Project M. That's what limited the PMBR- once they were identified as a group- they felt restricted by professionalism and Nintendo and, thus, couldn't add all that this community has to offer. As an entire hacking community, we can do whatever we want with the game. There's no need to leave a stone unturned. With Smash Bros. Wii U approaching, we might as well give it something awesome to compare it to. The primary aspect in which I'm seeking help from the community is what I call "PSA molding". I want help taking these PSAs from the vault and making them balanced, improved, and overall perfect for the Project M competitive style. Let's start with a picture of my current CSS: (http://i.imgur.com/rzOoA6T.png) (sorry my horrid tv makes it look weird) Admittedly, I did use the first beta of Project M Unbound as a template. This is my current roster with Project M: 49 characters excluding Zelda (Sheik's there) and ZSS. It's simple really, I just put in what I wanted. I've played and thoroughly reviewed LOTS of Brawl PSAs on the vault for this project and these are the ones I've deemed best suited in terms of balance and ingenuity for Project M molding. If you can't fully see, the EXroster is: Mewtwo Roy Cloud Deadpool Shadow Gray Fox Wisp Raptor Ridley Vegeta Kid Buu Scorpion NEWCOMERS POSSIBLE NEWCOMERS THE PROCESS Now for the juicy part I want all you guys to read. As I'm writing this, I have no partners for this project. If you like this idea and want to help, post in the thread and pm me. Little by little, with each perfect character, the game will reach a new level of fun. If we all come together, this game can become the new MUGEN. As of now, the CSS can freeze with Captain Falcon or Team mode changing costumes. There are also costumes that won't work and various other possible glitches. It's not too freeze heavy though- if you're playing by yourself, you can easily see for yourself which costumes work and which don't- because most of them DO work. If you've played it and have any thoughts or improvements you can share, I BEG you to do so. All in all, I'm hoping this can be a big project (like a P:M dlc type thing) and I hope you'll all share how you feel about this idea. With good feedback, I'll update this post constantly to show more information such as costumes, music, more pictures/details etc. Thanks for reading this, community! Title: Re: Project ReMiX Post by: spiritpyros on July 19, 2014, 08:29:58 PM this project sounds great so far my only suggestion would be to include the lucina psa as it already has a p:m balanced version.
Title: Re: Project ReMiX Post by: windhunter7 on July 19, 2014, 09:10:00 PM Hmm. If those are "possible" inclusions of characters, most(if not all) of them already exist; but out of the probably around 30 or so reviews of people I've seen of who should be included in Super Smash Bros. WiiU(Before they started making it, but after they rumored about it), as well as how popularly people use a bunch of those characters, the ones that you listed that are quite popular to people include:
Sora Naruto Knuckles Skull Kid Crash Bandicoot *I myself am not actually a fan of any of these except for Knuckles and Skull Kid; those are simply the characters that I've seen as what people want(You forgot to include characters that are even more wanted, like Rosalina or MegaMan[Actually included in SSBU according to the official website])* *Am a fan of Super Smash Bros. series though ;D* Title: Re: Project ReMiX Post by: ✦Dylan✦ on July 21, 2014, 03:45:46 AM Someone finally shows appreciation for Emerl YES! Title: Re: Project ReMiX Post by: kanjaroo on July 24, 2014, 12:10:54 PM Alright, I'm uploading my sd card for people to play around with. My hope is that you all can feel the direction of the project so support for it can grow. Once again, I need PSA and module editors to work with to epand the possibilities with these new characters. I'm going to pm the original PSA makers and see if they have an interest in revising their characters' mechanics to give this project substance and make Project M more fun. In the meantime, enjoy this glitchy brawl setup. (It's taking a while to upload so be patient plz)

Title: Re: Project ReMiX Post by: kanjaroo on July 24, 2014, 02:39:28 PM I can do previews and vids on my channel, sadly no commentary. That'd be awesome! But please try to mention that it's not finished. The new characters work great but some costumes on the old characters soft freeze (fight won't load). Its about 70% uploaded as of now. In your video, I'd ask that you give a good representation of how every character has 10 costumes. The main advancements are just in the css- none really in terms of gameplay as the new characters act how they did in vBrawl. Of course, you can show that the P:M characters still function how they were supposed to. Oh and some Echaracters will seem to have 5 costumes. In reality, they have 10- its just the original 5 repeated because I couldn't find/think of more costumes for them. The best eample to show is Deadpool. He has 10 great costumes (though Ronald is kinda jacked up) and fights against P:M Snake glitch free. (Don't try Snake or Sonic alts and don't even select Captain Falcon) On a very related note, do you guys think I should make another topic to underly all the glitches with this pack so people will know and other people (like me) can try changing them? Title: Re: Project ReMiX (Alpha download now included) Post by: kanjaroo on July 25, 2014, 06:09:20 PM Thanks man. I'm pretty busy as of late but once that video goes up, I'm gonna make some major revisions to this topic. Do me one solid favor and send me a screenshot of the CSS so I can take down the blurred iPhone pic in the op.
Next, I'm gonna be adding a costume section to the op soon- a preview thing where people can see what the 10 costumes look like for the characters by showing all 10 CSP's under a spoiler. Still, my major concern with this project getting further developed is the PSA aspect- when it comes down to it- that's the whole reason I started this project. While adding lots of cosmetics to Project M is nice looking and all, my main focus is ADDING CHARACTERS to Project M by making BrawlVault PSA's fit into Project M mechanically. I want it to be more than a pack. I really need support from prominent PSA makers to make this project worth continuing. Idk, maybe I should just post this in a different section of the forums? I know one PSA that will work well, (I'm using it in SSBF) Metal Mario, made by Chaotix, its over Mario and when it is updated it will get more attacks and be more suited for PM. Title: Re: Project ReMiX (Alpha Download now Included) Post by: kanjaroo on July 26, 2014, 12:18:47 PM Well, I decided to make a thread to focus on PSA adjustments.
http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=69774.msg1285769#new (http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=69774.msg1285769#new) As for the Metal Mario PSA, I'll try it out when I have the chance. Like I said in the op though, I'm limited to focusing on 14 characters now. If a PSA's worse than all of the 14 I've already started on, I won't work on it cuz its not priority. That being said, the Gray Fox PSA is unfinished so I've been debating replacing it. I'll add Metal Mario to the Possible Newcomer list and if he trumps the others also in line, I MAY replace Gray Fox with him. Title: Re: Project ReMiX (Alpha Download now Included) Post by: kanjaroo on August 24, 2014, 08:12:23 AM I made an Alpha v1.1 for BrawlVault! I've started working on PSA to modify the new characters to a Project M standard- so if someone can handle the cosmetic aspect for me OR if the forums could make a list of which costumes soft-freeze when stage-loading, I can get on with making the new characters better!
I replaced Grey Fo with Knuckles in this build. Knuckles' side smash might be op but his other attributes make him seem like a great character to add. Oh and for all you guys downloading I just remembered that I didn't change Blaziken back to P:M Captain Falcon. My friend sucks at Smash so much so he kinda forced me to replace Captain Falcon with Blaziken so he can have more fun lol. I forgot to get rid of that, but I'm sure any of you guys can handle that as well. (Its not the cosmetics just the fighter files). Anyway, if you're a new viewer of the thread and interested in this project, speak up! Still got no partners :( I'll be updating when I can. I want to help with character matchup balancing.
It's one thing to make a character individually balanced, but they need to be balanced with the rest of the cast as well. So yeah. I can also grab in-game pics. Title: Re: Project ReMiX (Alpha Download now Included) Post by: kanjaroo on September 05, 2014, 03:33:06 PM Quick Update: My sd card got corrupted last week so I haven't done much. Now that I have a new one though, I've been making editing PSAs for P:M. However, I don't know how to edit PSAs with BrawlBo. If someone could PM me that that would be nice. I've been using PSA but I need to learn BrawlBo for editing now.
Also, if someone could make a list of costume data, that would be a HUGE help. I don't have time to use my wii for a good amount of time these days so this would be awesome. Just a list of all the costume mishaps. Freezes and loading the wrong costumes. With a list, fiing the mistakes will be lots easier on me. The fact that I've used BrawlEx to give every character 10 costumes makes that guide less than useful. The order of texture files will be naturally in line with the order of portrait files on completion- this is already the case for a good number of characters. I just need to mark down the current mistakes that make this untrue in this beta. But, because this will be naturally different, I need all the costumes to be tested and recorded manually. I could do it myself but it'll take time.
Post Merge: September 06, 2014, 03:06:16 PM Update: completely forgot to add version 1.1 to op. Now its there. Title: Re: Project ReMiX (Alpha Download now Included) Post by: kanjaroo on September 09, 2014, 08:23:52 PM Nother update: I re-uploaded the project to Mega. Also, I added a new HD picture to the OP so everyone can basque in its glory. I'm also currently working with someone on perfecting the costumes so epect version 1.2 (with less freezing costumes) in the future!!!

Post Merge: September 16, 2014, 05:56:15 PM Is it intentional for shadow to have sonic sfx's instead of shadows sfx's? There aren't many clones with unique sf yet. Clones outside of Project M, anyway. Clone sound effects are linked to the original characters they were designed from. People have made sf for characters like Shadow, but someone needs to take the time to re-code Shadow's sf over a boss character- like tabuu, rayquaza, etc. Otherwise, Sonic and Shadow share the same sf- either they both sound like Sonic or they both sound like Shadow. There's also another technique where someone can divide Sonic's sound bank in half and attribute half of his sounds to Sonic and half to Shadow. Regardless, it IS possible, but I'm not focused on that right now. I want the game to play like a charm- no freezes- first. Once I've done that, I'll try to get support from other hackers too, assuming it gets popular like I hope it to, and then we can work out the cosmetics to make the game seem like Project M dlc. Right now, I'm almost done working out the costumes so that NONE freeze. After that, perfecting the clone movesets. Last, cosmetics like battle portraits, sf, etc. Title: Re: Project ReMiX (Alpha Download now Included) Post by: Ҩᴜᴇᴇɴ on September 17, 2014, 09:25:52 AM I'm trying it, meow.
Let's hope it's better than Project M, where it doesn't have the lag before attacks. Looks pretty interesting. I also have a bunch of my own PSA's I could put in, too. And costumes. If not, I could always put in codes to take it out.... Post Merge: September 17, 2014, 01:54:56 PM Yeah, Same issue Project M had. Wisp Freezes. Vegeta sounds like Wolf. Shadow like Sonic. Raptor like Wolf. Then again, it IS a Beta. I'd suggest you take out Wisp. It's always had a freezing problem, with me. Even when I used it with my BrawlDX. I don't really attribute sf to be an issue. I'm focused on making an awesome party game. If ppl really are turned off by something like that, I could always mute the clones until we've coded sf for them. As for Wisp, idk why he freezes for u but yeah I plan on getting rid of him anyway. Finding unique PSAs that are balanced is the only issue. I have some in mind but feel free to throw more ideas in. I feel I have offended you enough. I apologize. However... Check SupaSawniks Pack. His Shadow is a clone. Yet has it's own voice. Might be something to check out/. My reason for not doing so, is because it only works on the 2GB card, not the 4GB one. Title: Re: Project ReMiX (Alpha Download now Included) Post by: kanjaroo on September 18, 2014, 09:08:44 AM Nah. Mind you... I notice alot of Freezing Glitches and Lag between screens. Well.. not alot of Freezing, just quite a bit. Expect Freezing 20% of the time. Title: Re: Project ReMiX (Alpha Download now Included) Post by: kanjaroo on September 22, 2014, 10:23:13 PM Update for anyone that's actually following this: My computer is garbage. A lil dust ball ruined my i7 :( . I backed up all my stuff though so no worries in that regard. I sent my comp in for diagnose . I'm either gonna get it back repaired or get a new one on warrant. We're gonna have to wait a couple days for that. Once I get it though, I'm gonna be putting the finishing touches up on costumes so we can pick whateeeeeeever costumes we want and not have to worry about freezes. Yay.
After I finish this, though, there's a couple different options for what I could be doing next: 1. Add P:M physics and dash-dancing to the clone characters. I'm closest to prioritizing this cuz I feel like the clone characters have to be at least somewhat freed from their Brawl engine chains before u can really appreciate them. Deadpool, for example, I would main. But, he's so floaty and slow I can't accomplish anything without being treated like a beach ball by other players. 2. Create a costume committee. I can make polls or maybe new threads with polls to discuss on how we go about the costumes. 10 costumes gives each character a lot of different creative choices for people to have fun with. I'll put on display the CSP's for all possible costumes to add (u can make requests) and then together we can decide the best costume roster to make anyone wanna play any character. We can decide to get rid of all the Dr. Mario costumes but 1 and then add in new ones like Metal Mario, Shadow Mario, NES Mario. We choose the levels of acceptability, so the 10 costumes do the character the most justice. We could do 5 recolors and 5 franchise references. Or 1 original, 1 red, 1 blue, 1 green and the other 6 as franchise references. Or even 6 recolors and 4 franchise references. I personally like 5x5 but we'll decide on this together once I've started it and everyone that's interested had voted on this. 3. Replace Wisp and Raptor with Geno and someone else. I was thinking Yoda. I had a nice idea, though. I don't know how to PSA with BrawlBox so that's why I've steered clear of making my own characters for this. HOWEVER, a Steve PSA would probably be super easy. Since his animations are allowed to be about as rigid as Mr. Game&Watch's, the animating and character development would probs be much easier. If anyone's down to do a PSA for P:M that would be easier than the usual ones, help me out here! I think it's a great idea bcuz he SHOULD be easy to make and he's also a quite iconic video game character. It would definitely add a rush to the P:M experience. Also, I should mention that I don't entirely view Mariodk's Geno as P:M worthy. But, that's up for u guys to decide, really. It IS supposed to be balanced so if it is and I can work with it, I'll probs add Geno. Yeah, and that's about all I'm really thinking about doing to move forward concurrently. Which one of these should I do once costumes are perfected? Title: Re: Project ReMiX (Alpha Download now Included) Post by: Dragoon Fighter on October 10, 2014, 03:51:36 PM I liked raptor, I guess one can always add them back in.
