Title: Project Master Hand plus Project Crazy Hand

Ever since Brawl came out I've wanted Master Hand, Crazy Hand, and Tabuu to be playable, a PSA for Tabuu has already been created, so no need to work on that. I know, I've hardly made hacks at all yet, but if I never work on these I will never get better. This will probably take a long time to get done, and as I work on this, I will probably do some more simple projects that won't take long, but this will be my main focus. I can't create this by myself, I'm going to need help. Right now I'm thinking of putting Master Hand over Bowser and Crazy Hand over King Dedede, but since this is literally the beginning of the project, this might change. I also need soundbank hacks to make those characters use the respective boss soundbank, and preferably use the bosses original files. They should be weaker than the bosses since they can move freely, use items, shield, and dodge. As of right now these are my plans for the PSA (my plans for the moveset are obviously not complete yet), what do you think, and what ideas do you have?

EDIT: I'm going to try to put Crazy Hand over Link now.

Master Hand's moveset
  • Neutral combo: Poke (hold for up to 3 pokes, with the last poke being the most powerful)
  • Neutral aerial: Slam (Master Hand makes a fist and flies forward)
  • Down tilt: Crush (Master Hand jumps then dives down slaps the ground)
  • Side dash: Triple Backhand Smack (Master Hand hits with the back of his hand 3 times)
  • Side tilt: Downward Punch (Master Hand jumps in the air and then punches down)
  • Neutral special (ground): Lasers (Master Hand shoots lasers)
  • Up special (ground): Jet (Master Hand makes a plane-shape with the flame effect, then quickly flies slightly forward and then back, then turns around for one more hit)
  • Up special (aerial): Vertical Jet (Recovery move, Master Hand flies up, and slightly forward)
  • Side special (ground): Slap (Master Hand slaps moving forward a bit)
  • Side special (aerial): Palm Ground Hit (Master Hand dives down and hits the ground with his palm, and uses the bury effect)
  • Up tilt: Drill (Master Hand flies up with the drill then back down and spins with the drill)
  • Forward aerial: Flick (Master Hand flicks the opponent)
  • Up smash: Triple shot (Master Hand shoots three pairs of bullets, the first two trap the opponent, and the last one explodes. However, this will have extremely high start-up lag)
  • Side smash: Gun (Master Hand shoots a pair of bullets)
  • Down smash: Triple hammer (Master Hand makes a fist and quickly hits the ground three times, opening his hand for a fourth hit)
  • Final smash: Hand army (Master Hand opens a portal, and mini Master Hands rush at the enemy/enemies, this attack will be almost impossible to dodge, but can be dodged with perfect timing)
  • Grab attack: Hand crush (Master Hand crushes the opponent in his hand)
  • Throws: Master Hand throws the enemy in the direction pressed
  • Up taunt: Come here (Master Hand uses his index and middle fingers to single the opponent(s) to come to him just like when Master Hand does the catch move with Crazy Hand as a boss)
  • Side taunt: Fist shake (Master Hand shakes his fist)
  • Down taunt: Thumbs down (Master Hand does a thumbs down)
  • Opening: Master hand flies from the background with his laugh
  • Lose pose: Defeat animation with scream
  • All win poses: Wait1 animation while facing the camera

Additional note: The move where Master Hand walks, will be his dashing animation, the moveset has flick for the attacking part of it.

Crazy Hand's moveset
  • Neutral combo: Poke (hold for up to 3 pokes, hitting with darkness, then electricity, then ice)
  • Neutal aerial: Slam (same as Master Hand's move)
  • Down tilt: Crush (same as Master Hand's move)
  • Side dash: Dark crawl (Crazy Hand crawls with darkness hitboxes)
  • Side tilt: Downward punch (same as Master Hand's move)
  • Neutral special (ground): Lasers (same as Master Hand's move except the lasers go through platforms)
  • Up special (ground): Jet (same as Master Hand's move)
  • Up special (aerial): Vertical jet (same as Master Hand's move)
  • Down special: Bombs (Crazy Hand throws bombs up in the air, then they fall unless they hit an enemy)
  • Side special (ground): Slap (same as Master Hand's move, but faster)
  • Side special (aerial): Palm ground hit (same as Master Hand's move)
  • Neutral special (aerial): Triple backhand smack (same as Master Hand's move except Crazy Hand does it in the air)
  • Up tilt: Drill (same as Master Hand's move, but faster)
  • Down aerial: Spasm (Crazy Hand dives to the ground and has spasms)
  • Up smash: Power bomb upward flick (Crazy Hand flicks a bomb with high knockback up in the air)
  • Side smash: Power bomb side flick (Crazy Hand flicks a bomb with high knockback in the direction he is facing)
  • Down smash: Triple hammer (same as Master Hand's move, except with the flower effect)
  • Final smash: Triple team attack (Crazy Hand calls in Master Hand, and they do all 3 boss team attacks, Double Punch, Applaud, and Catch. Crazy Hand is invincible while doing this)
  • Grab attack (same as Master Hand's move, except with the flower effect)
  • Throws (same as Master Hand's)
  • All taunts are the same as Master Hand's
  • Opening: Crazy Hand flies from the background with his laugh
  • Lose pose: Defeat animation with his scream
  • All win poses: Wait1 animation while facing the camera

Additional notes: Crazy Hand will have more diverse moves than Master Hand and have more effects, but he will also be weaker. Crazy Hand's final smash should be just as strong as the boss version due to being a final smash.

I'm going to make them powerful, better than the average character, but a bit weaker than the boss forms of them.

There's a T-Rex PSA on the Vault over Yoshi.

It's strong but it uses hit-point system for KOing it. You could apply that to these characters :)

I want to help but I don't know anything about modding other than how to put it in my game. So I can playtest for you when your ready if you want. I play Dolphin Emulator until I get a new SD card.

Edit: Are these one-slot mods? Where they replace one costume only and the other costumes still use the original characters PSA's?

An interesting idea, I might try it. I'll probably start with the normal way of being KO'd though. I might switch to the HP if it seems to work better, or maybe I'll put two versions together, one with the normal KO and one with the HP KO.

Yeah, I probably won't find all glitches by myself. So just report them if you find any.

You need at least one Wii user to report glitches, as many of them are not visible or simply don't happen on Dolphin.

Hey, I haven't been in BV since like 1-2 years lol but I had a project I began on with MH and CH (Master & Crazy Hand) before but never released it.. Tried to make Animations match with PSA but failed.. I still don't know how to PSA that well at all but.. My idea was to put MH over Marth and CH over Ike, that way we could port it to any other character, but since PW came up with BrawlEX, I thought this can go over anything but I was too lazy to port them to another character.. But I might start again if I feel like it in Very Late June, to July. If you have any questions you can PM me about this.

No, I will give them alternate costumes, so they are going to replace all costumes.

awesome, but maybe change the final smash for master hand. ive got a final smash idea, its were he turns into a giant hand and crushes all the players inrange.

The recolors are actually done, I haven't released them yet because I will release them when I release the Pre-alpha once some of the animations are done. The recolors are full body new colors, Master Hand is normally white, but with the recolors I have a red, blue, black, yellow, and orange Master Hand.

Right now, I don't know when the animations will be ready. I haven't done animations before, so I'm watching/looking at tutorials on how to do them. So it might be a long time unless I get help and/or learn something on how to do what I need to really quickly.

I would appreciate your help since I have just started doing these kinds of hacks. As for making characters disappear, I'm not sure, but if I can't make them disappear, then I will just put them in the hand itself, and use an original animation for getting squeezed that you would see on any part of them sticking out of the hand.

No, I actually don't have any animation done yet because I'm still learning how to even do the animations. If you're wondering though, his wait1 animation is going to be Master Hand clenching his fist (just like what he does if you control him in Boss Battles mode and have him idle long enough).

ive got ideas for his grabs:

forward throw: flicking his hand in the direction, throwing the opponent fast.

down throw: slaming his hand on the hand, casusing damage to the opponent and doing knockback.

up throw: throwing the opponent up into the air, good for combos.

back throw: flicking his hand backwards and does damage but not much knockback.

i hope i helped with the throws if this info was useless, at least i tried to help :)

Well, for his wait animations, I would like for him to clench his fist. For his walking animation, he should just float forward, for his dash animation, he should do his index and middle finger walk just like he does as a boss, allow him to poke for his neutral attack, have him grab ledges by all of his fingers other than his thumb, and his idle stance should be what it is as a boss. Not many animations are needed yet since this is the Pre-alpha. Also if you can do this, can you teach me how you did it so I could help with animations in the future?

I'm curious, would it be possible to port over some of masterhand's animations from his normal boss files to this? we would have to do alot of editing still but it could potentially save alot of time if it works.

Okay everyone, it has been a while. If anyone was concerned, the project isn't cancelled, I've just been having difficulties with it. I think I might of found the animation tutorial I needed, but it may take a while to learn. Some bad news though; the hardware I used to take screenshots of the game is broken, so I don't know how I'm going to take screenshots until I get some new hardware, and with the financial problems I'm having, it will take time. I'll try to learn the animation for now though.

I think I'm pretty decent. So far I have made about 80 moveset and 300+ animations. I had already developed some things for MHand.

Ok, great! What should we do to send each other files?

I'm starting to learn how to animate, but I have a long way to go, I also have a Wait1 for Master Hand now, but it needs lots of polishing. It also looks like the Wait2 will actually be the clenching fist.

Plus, I need two to four gecko codes one for "Bowser has Master Hand's soundbank", and I don't need this one, but it would be nice to have "Bowser has Master Hand's Icon", as well as Crazy Hand's alternatives for King Dedede; If anyone knows the codes for that PM me and I will add them in the Alpha releases to a Notepad file.

Nice job on the animations, we'll polish them and add more in future updates, but the recolors crash my game, I have some recolors that work fine though. Just a few more things to animate:
  • Double Jump: Just have Master Hand scroll up farther.
  • Duck: Maser Hand lays on the ground.
  • Edge grab: Master Hand uses his fingers other than his thumb to grab the ledge.
  • Ladder: Master Hand faces and scrolls up or down the ladder.
  • Dash: The boss running animation.
  • Grab animation: Grabbing boss animation.
  • Trip: Master Hand lays down with the palm up.
  • Item: Master Hand holds the item in his fist.
  • Heavy item: Master Hand lays back and holds the item up open in his palm.
  • Opening: Master Hand flies in from the background.

With the animations you already have, and these added, I think that will be enough for the Pre-alpha release. After that we will start the PSA.

I was kinda planning on making Master Hand as relaxed as possible; always remaining in generally the same position (his wait pose), because whenever he gets too physical, he starts to look silly, like in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2OvlNoqPnU (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2OvlNoqPnU)

In my opinion, he should play more like an agile, functional, boss character, and less like a traditional fighter; being able to move around with relative ease, and having a wide display of attacks, but having them more closely resemble boss-like moves, whilst avoiding make him use his fingers independently of the rest of his hand, unless done for the purpose of specific moves, like his walk/homing finger dash (the background move)

In other words, we should try to keep him from fighting in his Finger Person stance all the time.

Yeah, I want his animations to be as close to the boss version as possible. Floating around for his walk, and moving on his fingers only for the dashing animation.

Everyone, it's time for an update on this project. So it's been a while, if you're wondering why nothing has been going on here for a while, it's because I've been feeling really depressed recently, and haven't had the energy to do very much. I'm feeling better now, so I'm ready to get this project up and running again! Also I sometimes may make updates to my first post, so you might want to take a look at it sometimes. Just before making this post, I updated what Crazy Hand's final smash was going to be; I felt it was just going to be too weak for a final smash.

The Pre-alpha is on it's way! It should be ready by Saturday. I will also release the Crazy Hand Tech Demo around that time.

Okay, the Pre-Alpha has been released! Here's the link:

Next will be the Alpha, this is what will be on there.
  • Most animations will be added
  • Some moves will be added
  • Either the Final Smash or a placeholder for it will be added
  • It will be easier to move
  • The bug when Master Hand is grabbed will be fixed, or if I can't fix it then I will make it so Master Hand cannot be grabbed
  • Bowser will have Master Hand's soundbank

It's over Link now because I couldn't open King Dedede's moveset file. Next will be the Pre-alpha where some animations will be added.

Now I'm going to work on the Master Hand Alpha, this means the start of the PSA. I don't know how to PSA, so it will probably be a long time before it's ready. So now I will try to learn how to PSA.

I've hit a big roadblock, I can't get Master Hand to move without constantly tapping the control stick. Hopefully I won't have to release the final version with that bug, so if you have any ideas on how to fix that please tell me (I'll give you credit for that) or download the file, fix it, and send me the fixed version (I'll add you to the collaboration for that).

I found this post OmegaSPacePirate maybe this can help with the running glitch 

 3b TransN, or the Walking and/or Running glitch. This can be a tricky one to fix, because the TransN of the new model MUST be in the same spot as the replaced model, but there’s 2 ways to fix it, a one slot swap, and full character fix.
One Slot Swap: Example - you want to replace Mario, he has a TransN of 7, therefore to avoid the walking glitch the new models 7th bone must also be TransN. The easiest way to fix it is to find a character that has the same TransN index and replace that one. If you can’t or don’t want to replace those characters, then you can either rename the bone that is in the TransN index of the replaced character, but this might cause issues later on, because Brawl is referencing a random bone thinking it’s the TransN when it really isn’t.
Full Character Fix: you can edit the TransN Bone Reference in Tabuu, but since you have to edit the FitCharacter.pac (the PSA file), the change will affect all costume slots. I have a Tabuu guide later (section 5). TransN bones still have to match up, but with Tabuu, you can tell Brawl where to look for it, instead of Brawl telling you where to put it.

Hey everyone, it's time for an update. So with Smash 4 hacking starting, I'll probably be switching over to that pretty soon (once I get my Wii U and 3DS ready); which will cause this project to either be cancelled or put on hold for a very long time (until I get all of those projects done). For now, I'll still work on this, but I don't know for how much longer. Anyway, I'm going to try what HyperHandCRazy said, and hopefully it works.

If that does not work Try this once I did this method to your master hand alpha for bowser he was able to move normally go to the topN bone and 3 childs use ctrl up to move the 3 new bones on top of the transN bone rename the bone index of the new one to 1 for one 2 for one 3 for one and change transN bone index to 4 after that they are in order from 1 to 4 1 being at the top and 4 being at the bottom if you did this successfully than your masterhand should walk normally without teleporting

All i can say is that I am beginner to animations and psa so the quality wont be top notch but I do have some attacks and moves working on him but they are different from your ideas I can you send what I have so far also  I used you master hand as a start so i fixed the walking glitch and that weird model flickering glitch

A collab would be great Ill do what I can do

Sure, with more people that should help! Also I think the Neutral Ground Special should be his lasers so we can hold it down for as long as we want to continuously shoot them. I also have the Master Hand BP ready. I think next we should get his Final Smash, and soundbank in. Also in the first post I have what I think both movesets should be. You should take a look at that and tell me what you think.

K great we can make the lasers Neutral ground special and about the first post with your move ideas
the only problem is are we starting the psa from where you left off or where I left because if were starting from where I left off that might be hard since we would have to change most his moves to match yours also crazy hand your right he needs a lot of attention but does he have the running glitch

Yes and most likely but you might need to move the psa to someone like dedede since he has waddle dedede model so we can replace masterhand with the waddle dee so that when the final smash from him occurs we can use the model for masterhand
