Title: Project M Custom CSP Help???[Solved]
Post by: windhunter7 on March 14, 2015, 02:38:03 PM
Hi, I really need help with Project M!  :'(
I tried replacing about 3 CSPs in my common5.pac, and the portraits showed up fine in-game, with no freeze. Then, after replacing all the other CSPs, with no additional or removing any CSPs, but only with replacing them, Project M freezes! It also froze even when I reimported the non-CMPR CSPs as CMPR!

I really need to know how to fix this, because, even though I just pick "Random" for characters, my brother doesn't, so he'd need to be able to see the pictures, and also, if I can actually properly replace the CSPs without it freezing, then I can make character packs for Project M like I was planning on, with it fully working!(This one isn't one of the ones I was going to upload, because it's just a bunch of random characters I threw together for my custom build)

Please help! :kdance:

I doubt it's the file size so I think it's a problem with the saving or one or more csp's are bad. You could also try editing sc_selcharacter.pac and replacing it in the common5.pac

I checked the CSPs; they're all identical: 128x160, CMPR, LevelOfDetail: 1, and HasPalettes = false. Not to mention that most of them worked fine with Riivolution previously.

I'm not seeing how it could save badly because it worked fine before I switched to Project M, but I'm desperate, so I'll try anything.

So I solved the issue. It wasn't a bad save; it's that Project M, unlike regular Brawl, is pickier about filesize, and complains if a portrait is too small. Adding [Solved] to the thread.
