Title: Read codes on USB
Post by: Kaedrick on April 16, 2015, 04:25:36 AM
Hello!
I want to know if it is possible to read codes (project M ones and all) from the USB instead of the SD card? that would let me implement a 4GB characters texture pack, my SD card is 2GB and Project M itself uses ~800mb so I can't even implement that pack that has lots of heroes and I just love it :/
If it is possible, which loaders let you do that?

I play a custom Project M where all non-Project M skins are replaced with custom ones, and I have a 1 GB SD card. You just gotta delete the .pacs of the alternate palette swaps that are from normal Brawl. (I dunno if deleting the .pacs of the extra slots will cause freezing, but I'd suggest playing it safe)

Allows up to 32 gig SD cards to be used. sadly you can't use a USB drive unless you use riivolution, which from what you said you use a usb loader, therefore can not use it.

Unrelated to the question.

You need an USB Loader.
It is the only way you can actually load hacks through a USB drive.

Thanks! but what is that supposed to mean? I need to put this on my RSBE01.gct file or create a new one, if it's a new one, how should I name it?

That code is just for SD cards that are over 2GB.

It won't work for USB drives.

Use the GCT Fusionizer.

Just add the .exe file to the same folder of your RSBE01.gct.
Then make another GCT file with the code you want to add and put said GCT file in the folder (where the .exe and the other GCT are found).

Click the .exe and you should have the code added to the GCT.

Note: The GCT with the code you want to add needs to be named "code".

Its kinda long so Ill put it into spoiler
If you want to use a USB Flash Drive you need to use riivolution and make sure the files are named to work with the XML file you use, (project M 3.0 and above no longer use Riivolution if I'm correct). If you want to use any SD cards above 2GB Project M already has the SDHC Code in It's GCT . As for the 4GB pack make sure it doesn't have that code already. if it does have the sdhc code leave the 4GB pack's Gct file alone. if it doesn't have it then create a GCT with just the SDHC code in Code manager, then use the GCT fusionizer(make sure to name the GCT with the SDHC code "Code.gct" and make sure the 4GB pack's GCT file is named RSBE01.GCT,and have them both in the same folder as the GCT fusionizer itself ). I hope that helps you out
