Title: DasDonkey Vertex Box help...
Post by: _Data_Drain_ on May 17, 2010, 01:03:00 AM
Man this is embarrassing... :(

Well where to begin... On my old computer (the computer was about 6 years old) before it got killed by Trojans, I was able to vex edit fine. (Well... If I didn't suck at it that is.) But on this new computer, I keep getting this.

"The program can't start because MSVCR71.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." ...So what should I do?

And I also have a laptop, now it will run on there,  but when I finish editing it, it messes up, there are polygons as big as a stage all over the place in BrawlBox...

Sorry if I sound like a stupid noob... But if anyone can help me, I would appreciate it...

I dunno, if this works but its worth a shot... I got the link from another thread concerning a similar problem

It seems like that worked, thank you. :)

I'll see if it doesn't make polygons explode. XD

Edit: Now I'm getting this... "errorjava.io.EOFException" what the heck is that?

Update your java

Though... The Java site says "You have the recommended Java installed (Version 6 Update 20)."

Oh yeah, I should mention I'm using Windows 7... And my laptop is using Windows XP...

That error can be different things. Maybe you accidently tried to edit the polygon instead of the vertexes? If not, what are you trying to vertex hack?

No, it was vertexes, I'm trying to edit Meta Knights visor...

By the way... What do you need to run Das Donkey Box properly? Anything I'm missing? And yes I have Anim8tor. XD

this is maybe a problem since your using 64-bit 7, unless the program support 64-bit with no problems

I think there are 2 versions of vertex box, one working fine for anim8tor only, if you try to return the changes from a 3ds then gets an error, and another working fine for 3ds max, but when you get a file saved with anim8tor or vertex box itself, then the result is an infinitely screwed up model.

If you get that error by using anim8tor, the only thing I could figure out is that you have not closed brawlbox before making the change or something

Wait...  There are two versions of Vertex box?!
Where can I get the one that works with Anim8or?

maybe you are exporting the files of the "normals" folder they both have the same names on the files

I firguet to say, before, there was only 1 version (anim8or only), then my host deleted the file, and I reupload it, but copile the one that works on 3ds max (Iwas working on it and upload accidentaly) but is estable, so if you download DDVB recently you need 3dsmax, I miss the anim8r one

I remember I got that error, I had the trial version of windows 7 and I couldn't use dasdonkeybox cause of that.

But I got a *cough* torrented version of windows 7 called xDark *cough* and it work perfectly

Both were 64 bit too

I have windows 7. I redownloaded vertex box and it work for me now.

So do you need to have windows 7 to get it to work?

I don't think so. The version in the brawlvault resources seems to let you bypass the anima8tor step if you use 3DS Max. My Windows 7 has a graphics card that doesn't support Anim8or. So I always got that error message. I tried using that one since I read somewhere that Akari-Un uploaded one he didn't want to but left it anyway. That one doesn't seem to need Anim8or since I can vertex now and I only have 3DS.

*sighs*
Well it must be my computer then... :(

Are you saving with anim8tor? That error was the one I got with the original vertex box when I tried to import a 3DS Max model without saving it with anim8tor first.

Anyway, vertex box uses java, it should work for any operative system with java installed O.o

I do have everything up to date, and yes I am saving it with anim8or, because at the moment, I am using only anim8or.
I do actually have 3ds max on this computer but when I try to just start the program it complains of configuration settings being incorrect... and I don't know how to fix that.

Well, I'm putting through Anim8or, using Vista on a laptop, and I get the abnormal polygon thing too. I'll look into the Anim8or vertex box, that could be the solution for me.
