Title: Galaxy Mario 2 - need ideas

Hey im back and wondering if anyone has any ideas for smg2....Really anything that you  could see mario doing is fine.

basically its Mario from MG2
- i know some people have tried to make a super mario galaxy and that i'm working on another mario atm.  I just thought it would be a good idea to make a super mario galaxy 2 PSA and moveset.

soo... i will attempt to make him after or during, depending on how i feel, i'm done with my other mario.

if anyone has any moves from the game, go and post them.  I'll be getting the moves from youtube vids since i don't have the game yet...

- I didn't know where to post this since it's an idea, but i'll be working on it so it's basically a project.



ok so....yellow - working on animation/ red- not started / green - done / orange - animation done,PSA not done / blue - PSA and Animation done - need to test/testing it /  teal - ideas that you guys came up with and i'm thinking about adding.  Remember to requests some more ideas

---moveset---

Up B ( air ) - cloud Mario - 3 jumps, after the 3rd, he goes into special fall.  If your hit, you can do up B +1 more times.  He does the twirl, stars circle him.  Lands on a cloud, does a dash(kinda) forward , then jumps off the cloud

Side B ( ground. 3 animations - start, loop, hit/end ) - rock mario. Mario turns into a rock and spins across the stage at your own will - as in you control direction.  After sometime, it automatically goes to the hit/end animation, fixing itr up a bit

attack dash - when Mario runs, crouches, then jumps

hi 3 - crouch jump - when your crouching, then jump, and mario does a backflip high in the air.  When he lands he'll have a nice gfx attached and a hitbox. - can't seem to make it work... might make it for some other move like Lw3/hi 3 or something

Air Attack N - star spin. simply air attack lw and fall forward merged together.  With stars trailing both hands, rises mario a tiny bit.

Land N - maybe Air low one ground, with stars trailing both hands?  suggestions welcome, as well as to any moves.

Air low - drill? he'll do the regular animation ( might alter a bit ) and then he drops down to the stage quiickly.  When he hits the ground, he obviously goes into land lw.

Land Low - he'll drill into the ground, then rise up and uppercut or kick up out of the ground.

Lw4 - ground pound

Up B (ground) - spring jump

NB - spins, then 3 ice/fire balls shoot out

edit: Also if you want me to add anything from the game, that's not on youtube - put it on youtube because i don't have the game yet, so i might not know what your talking about.

edit: its obviously in the folder mario- Mario Galaxy.  The moves that were changed above. - except i just added stars to the water and a bit of damage because i was bored, ntm. I hope the rock looks fine - made some last minute ( kinda) changes before uploading and didn't check if they worked because of how obvious it was in PSA.

Still need moves, these are once again, not that many...  You could just come up with general moves you'd like to see Mario to do that has atleast something to do with Mario Galaxy.  Ex - star shot, star slide, etc.

---------------------------Version .02 Moveset----------------

special fall - ittle forward momentum, a little floaty, little or no gravity \
special fall B - no forward momentum, floats higher ( goes up)              >  Fly mario
special fall F - most forward momentum , fall fastest                           /

Down B (ground) - charged spin, if released at close range - causes opponent to trip.  A light charge - minimum control time - weak.  heavy charge ( full ) most control time - strongest


side B (air) - use the rock power-up, but you fall to the ground pretty fast.

side B (ground) - will upgrade it to be more like MG2, add a jump, stop?, better gfx, and look for a better rock model

down b (AIR) - homing ( actually more like controlling from side to side) stomp.

footstool - just hit the enemy, maybe a chance of impaling and spike ( not too much though)

final smash - rainbow star, somewhat similar to Zero's final smash where he gets a "power-up".

edit:  I was wondering if people would like me to upload versions quicker like every one else instead of doing big changes.  ex. version 3 had a completely knew moveset from version 2 who had only 1 moveset - big change.  Most people upload versions after a few updates.

So what do you guys ( anyone who reads this) want? small changes so its quicker = more versions,  or big changes = less versions but it takes longer.

IMO with smaller changes, you guys can say your likes and dislikes more often.  And you will affect the PSA more.

How bout rock mario when mario turns into a boulder and rolls around and cloud mario where mario can fly and use 3 clouds to stay afloat .

thnx songeflemy, the cloud mario actually looks pretty nice - just made the cloud a bit longer since it was a bit short.  The dash looks good, and i'm about to test the rock.

We could use the ones that was in the previous Galaxy that was used int the new trailer, Like Spring, Fire, and Bee. The others I'm not sure, but there was a planet where the water turned to Ice in one of the trailers, so I guess Ice could be a kind of thing also. OizenX also made a rock that is PSA able, you can ask him for it.

NB - spin, throw fire(3)/ might make it so 1/2 the time it is an iceball

i dunno where i'm gonna use the Bee power since he basically floats - if i would it, i'd need a something that sounds like a buzzing noise or something.

i have a rock from charizard, but i can't get it to become big enough.  I think i realized the problem.

edit: got the rock fixed

He has made Mario with a sword. (Will bump to show you). Best Mario PSA created.

i'll be working on the version 3 still (kinda) after i'm done with some more of this  PSA.  Coming along good so far- fixing up the fireball because the 2b ( roll a die) doesn't seem to ever work for me.

edit - althoughi'm done with the animations and somewhat the PSA ( since i gotta test and stuff), i still need ideas for the regular moves like S4S(smash over) Lw4 - etc.  otherwise what i have now is only a little bit - although i do like it.

-for now i'll be working on my other PSA i guess

edit: - after i'm done with this mario sunshine request i'll continue with verion 2 ( MG) or version 3( PM) depending if you guys come up with some ideas.  I only have a few ideas - any moves that would fit will be done/thought about.

- o yea. songeflemy, can you take some pics of the few moves that i did?

hm, well you can use the rainbow star for his Final smash, it's better than a regular star since he'll run faster (I think marth's speed will do the trick since he won't as fast as him on a yoshi) and he causes anyone in his way to be hit and fly away from him (about 5% with medium knockback should do the trick) i'm kinda making this up so yeah.

Do you still need a suggestion for a Down B attack? If so I have an idea.

The spin mario does all throughout the Galaxy games when you shake the wiimote, I think that could be his down B.
It does very little damage when your opponent gets hit by it but it trips them up. And like in the game it can reflect projectiles.

I think it could be a good move to use for the Down B.

Hmm - i could try to make it so you can charge how long you can spin and move .  The tripping part seems a bit cheap though, reflecting is simple.  And since its going over down B, i now have 2 extra articles that could be used for other stuff.

When I said that they trip, I meant they had to be like right beside him when he does it, kinda like when Wario does an uncharged fart, people trip but only if they're right beside him.

But it's up to you really, as long as it reflects I'll be happy :3


Also, I downloaded and tried out the current version. It's really fun to play as, like I really enjoyed it.

Nutural  B - It works really well, not much to change here.

Side B- The rock move is awesome, though it would be nice if you could make it so that you could cancel out of it without having to crash or wait. And also you can't use it in the air, he just does his cape animation, I think it would be a lot more useful if you could start the move in the air and continue rolling once you hit the ground. But other than that it's perfect and an aweosme move.

Up B - On the ground I think the start up time is a little too long, otherwise it's okay. In the air it's pretty much fine, except maybe it could be a little faster.

The other moves that have been changed are pretty good and none that really need to be changed, I especially like the running attack and the down smash.

I can't wait for the next version :af:

hm, one I can't try it because I don't have the equipment to use it (I don't even have brawl anymore which is a pain to me) and 2 it sounds like homer simpson when he's drunk in mugen, it's still cool.

also the reason for 5% damage is because i'm not trying to make him as cheap as sonic's fs, but if it's gonna be cheap than 10% with high knockback. but this is only if it's gonna be cheap, if balanced than the damage and knockback stays the same. i'm fine with either one.

How did you make it so that Mario's FLUDD did damage? I'm trying to make a Squirtle PSA and I want Squirtle's Water Gun to do damage.

I agree.

Anyway:

2 moves:

headstool jump spikes stomp animation.

After second jump u can hold up to go higher there's no limit how high but he goes slow and inflicts 1% per half sec.

Yea, I should of explained better. But again something unrelated, I don't want to spam, but could you take a look at the question above this (about Ivysaur). I'm sorry to keep bugging you about the sub routines (I'm kind of a noob at PSA). But I might have an idea for a final smash for your character. It could be the same but bigger, more damage, and surrounded by stars.

just got the game =p... moves should be easier to find now, but i will work on them after paladin mario( only halfway done) - was wasting my time on a move for a few hours, still don't have it down yet...

I think he means its like Sonic/Pichachus final smash. You are invicible and fast, but unlike theirs, Your still walk, and can use other moves(Jump, ect)
I would think 10-14 a hit is resonableish. For....20 seconds? 15?

Fludd isn't in SMG 1-2. I don't like fludd, as it does no damage D:

his down B is going to be a chargeable, controllable spin attack.  his up B on ground, i'd be happy to change.

- I might be able to replace mario's fludd for yoshi's wings(put them on the hat maybe, from SM64? or make them have a bee-like texture) - and have them work for Up B on ground, i'm pretty happy about Up B in air.

edit:

I think down B should be the homing ground pound from galaxy 1 and 2.

if it were to home exactly like sonic's ( because his is the character with a move that homes/ excluding samus's side B missle) it would be weird... if you were below the opponent, then use down B, he would rise up during his ground pound.

Up B in air is horrible.

1. Cpu just do it once.

For Down B in air Make it his original down ariel

Make stomp his footstool jump.

Down air could be him turning into Rock Mario going straight down then the rock explodes when it touches the ground. damaging opponents.

UP B- i play with my brothers on Brawl... and i wasn't worrying about Cpu's being stupid....- but i can make it only be used once, with more horizontal control after jumping, and more height.

- if you think its horrible just because Cpu's are stupid about using Up B, i'm sorry but i don't care - i play against my bro's and friends. If you think it's horrible overall, then ok.

footstool - nice idea

down air - i was actually going to make him pause in the air, then do the drill move. Basically touch it up a bit (as well as the other moves).
- your idea was good though, might go over Side B air.

down B aerial - seems a bit overused... atleast in this PSA, i know its MG  but still.  taking out lw 4 ( stomp) and just making down B aerial would be better.

i can make it SEEM like a platform that ONLY MARIO can "stand/walk w/e" on.  Basically all it is - making animations where the bone that i attach the cloud to stay in the same spot all the time.  Then in PSA, have variables and change subactions to make him unaffected by gravity and stuff, and point to when he runs/attacks/jumps w/e...  So if i make him able to walk/run the (cloud) bone will stay in the same spot, so it appears as if it's not moving.  

- to summarize it, i can make mario do whatever on the cloud - depending on controller input

nice idea

edit: sonic - did you choose which one you wanted for Dr. eggman - the easy way, or long way?

Personally I think the up B is great, becasue I also only play against other people.

But playing against other people, namely my brother, showed me a major flaw.

The Rock. It can be spammed to hell. Seriously. It's overpowered. I love the move, but when someone like my brother plays, it's unbareable because it's too strong.

It does decent damage and good knock-back. But it's too much knock-back an damage, maybe cut both those down. And maybe it could be quite a bit slower. Because currently you can just zoom around the stage hitting your opponent and since it's so fast it's impossible to stop you. And once you hit them, you can go back into the rock before they have a chance to stop you. So maybe make it so that you can actually hit them in the rock to break them out, because currently it really is too overpowered.

And also as I said before, you should be able to start the rock in the air and also end it by pressing a button whenever you want.


But really, I can't wait for V.02, it's gonna be amazing! :happy:

Also an idea for the Side Smash, just the same as Marios real one, except instead of a firey ball, make star dust effects appear. That would look cool and work really well.

the side B can be spammed, but it can also be blocked.  But i'll probably slow down the start up, loop ( when you zooming across the stage), and hit/end

- ill do that for now since not many people are coming up with ideas.  maybe the star dust that trails will have a very small chance of tripping or something

i think i was going to make him be rainbow mario, except he gets a powerup - so that his moves will have a power up.  Unless people would like to just have you able to run around fast, and do small damage - high knockback.

I think Rainbow Mario Sounds pretty cool.

It'd be like Sonic's. He can't use his moves. He just goes sparkly, runs a lot faster, and jumps. For his jump he should just do somersults, and maybe he could have extra or unlimited jumps?

And as you said, low damage and high knockback. That'll work.

rainbow mario - unlimited jumps, you sure you don't want that powerup?  Like an ex would be... His smash over creates a fire gfx in his hand originally.  With the powerup - it will become like a flamethrower or just bigger with better gfx and increased dam./knockback

no video - i'd be glad if someone made one though, for that version and the next if they want.

his alternate moveset ( without the sword), giving him a hammer.  Also i'm changing the get up attacks,slip attack, and cliff attacks.  And fixing up anything that i can remember was a bit messed up before.

erm, got homework to do this week.  Ill start this weekend if i got nothing to do.  Actually...I've been making some custom animations ( thanks to dingo) and they turn out great(not mario though, but i can import them over to him to see how it looks on him. - feel like making a character of only custom made animations.)  You should try making some custom animations because taking moves from other character ( basically all i did with my other mario PSA) was getting old.

-basically im doing homework while being distracted by making custom animations...and ill start this, this weekend.

- your psa's turning out good?

edit: tried putting the animations over mario... guessing that whenever you have a key frame, it changes the body back... It was basically a 5-7 frame animation turning into a 40 frame animation.  All i would have to do is copy those key animations and fix them individually, then put it back in.

Yep, I'm doing a marth PSA. The requester wants his normal A attacks to be with his hand. And I dunno how to remove the sword. But looking at the texture, the claw was on the other hand.

im kinda procrastinating on this and....
1) my sensor bar broke so i can't play the game ( unless i use candles or something)
2) there still isnt any ideas for the smashes tilts or anything ( well a little)
3) there would only be a little bit of changes, besides up B, with the new version.  So if anyone got any ideas for actual attacks, then ill start. 
4) the main changes that people said are over the specials, not any non special attacks.

anything would be fine, but seeing as its galaxy mario - people would probably prefer something that mario would do.  Like for s4hi would be something like mario makes a cloud appears  a bit higher than him and then stars start to rain downward or at an angle.  The animation would be something like paper mario when he uses an item or something...  This  obviously is not a move from mg2, but he doesn't have that much attacks in the game either...

How 'bout for the Side Smash, you can have him do the spin attack. I would put Drill Mario for Down Special, and Replace Dair with the Homing Ground Pound. (Spins, then rockets towards the ground and lands on his two feet.

Bump...Been a while...

Only things changed so far:
Up B (air) - cloud mario
Up B (G) - spring mario

side B(G) - rock mario

Nuetral B (G) - 3 fire/ice balls come out (50/50  chance)

A-dash - long jump

Lw4start - G pound start
LW4hold - G pound hold
LW4 - G pound
^ might change G pound to like if your in the air and start fast falling + R/B or something

Air N - spin + stars
Air N land - ^

Air lw - drill
Air lw land - come up from the ground



-Anyone have any ideas?
-try not to hold back....you can do alot with psa =p

Rock Mario's on Side B, though we could move it.

There's still ghost Mario, Bee Mario, and Flying Mario, though I don't know where could we put the moves at.

Ghost Mario Could be Down B, he could turn invisible and be invulnerable for a short time.

Flying Mario could be His Glide, with Red GFX on his hands.

Bee Mario could be used for something else, like his jump, you could make an animation where in his Second jump he could do the same animation Bee Mario does when he flies in Galaxy 1 and 2. Also it would have to be like Yoshi, Ness, and Lucas's Second Jump.

Changing an article for an entire character?  That's pretty crazy.  It's not the fact it's not possible, it's the fact that it would have a massive effect on Mario's file space.

Ah I got an idea for a Final Smash.  It could be called "Shooting Star Parade" and it works very similarly to Ness/Lucas' Final Smash.  Giant starry comets could rain down from the skies across the entire stage, however unlike Ness/Lucas' Final Smash, they are ordered instead of random.  Whadya think about that?

He's actually going to make a cloud platform you can actually move around on. Yet I don't know if you could do that more than once.
- 4x upb is alot imo....
- i can easily make the 2nd aerial jump look like hes jumping off a cloud

-I already made it so you can walk/duck/ and jump off it(and tested it).
 I can add more things too but those are the ones i did so far.  I just need to add ifs so i can make him fall off at the right moment( i already know how high to set the vars...i just didnt test it yet) when you walk too far.

edit: im not sure if i can make the rock bigger unless someone vertexes it to be bigger.  A long time ago i tried with the animation and it still didn't work. - how bout eating a mushroom right before turning into a rock. then when the animation is over he turns normal again?

That's true, very true.  .Fade is basically a master at PSA.  Though I know for a fact that theshyguy is great too.  He'll probably be able to do it and pick it up.

if i were to make you able to get on yoshi and do:

dash: probably replace long jump(ill move that and  redo the animation)which is A-dash
blimp: up B on ground
bulb: ?? umm it was used to see invisible platforms....

just a thought how bout for the second aerial jump:
(3rd jump if it gets annoying but you go to sp fall)
some clouds appear(same for dash/blimp/?bulb?)..then yoshi appears and does his second jump with mario on it...

If you look at the Naruto costume from that CoN Naruto pack and use the texture with a different PSA there is no sword.

(if you didn't had anything there to start with) It could be bulb yoshi, since he can walk on invisible platforms.

im not 100% sure if i can add a mdl0 for boo mario even though the water is left.  Ill check when i get there. Atm im changing a lil bit of marios animations...any animations i should fix up a bit to look more like smg style?  ex. marios run is diff in brawl than smg run

I did/redid some animations tonight:
Lw4Start/Hold/end (Gpound) - will prob change to aerial low + something like L/R/Z
rock end(when it contacts) animation

spin

also i figured out a(obvious) way so that i can add as many need animations for yoshi as i want...well kinda(depends on how many xtra animations i got for mario)...Also i don't think ima do blimp yoshi.....

I know this is kinda late, but I just stumbled across your thread or whatever. Here's what I think:

KEY: A - Attack , B - Special
Side A - Bee Mario sings the opponent.

Down A - Ghost Mario(don't really know if it's Mario, but here's a picture: http://static.gamesradar.com/images/mb/GamesRadar/us/Games/S/Super%20Mario%20Galaxy%202/Everything%20Else/A-Z%20of%20Super%20Mario%20Galaxy/WII49.pre_galaxy.art_boo--article_image.jpg) Something like MetaKnight"s Down B. Mario disappears leaving some dust behind, and re-appears to hit the opponent below him. This in controllable, just like MetaKnight's.

Neutral A - Mario attacks like his regular SSBB attack, but when his attack meets his opponent, some star dust shows(like the dust you have with you when you have the StarMan or something named that), and affects the opponent by giving them the flower effect(the flower that makes you gain damage when it is on your head, I think it's called "LipStick").

Up A - Ice Mario does a uppercut(on the ground) and gives the opponents the freeze/Freezie effect(when you get hit with a mini-glacier{Freezie} and then a glacier captures your opponent in it).

man, I would have liked a full Super Mario Galaxy PSA to be in Brawl. One that has the specials, basic attacks, air attacks, final smashes, and other stuff like that. I've never played Super Mario Galaxy 1 or 2 so I really wanted a PSA of it.
