Got it! If you ever need to attatch a model to another model... Brawl box already has that functionality. Now all I have to do is get the textures and etc... working

I made a PSA for Wario (Petey Piranha PSA), you could use that instead of the Unfinished Wario Land PSA :|

General Hacking Discussion / My Smash Attacks Notes
March 22, 2012, 04:52:38 PM
I figured I'd make a post containing my notes/observations/common problems for PSA/OpenSA/Tabuu and have them in one place. A lot of this is obvious stuff, but it would've saved me a lot of time if I had known this beforehand. I figured this would help any newer hackers. Feel free to add to this list.

  • Use OpenSA/Tabuu 3 to edit articles-

  • Leaving the ground in a grounded animation-

  • Using Change subaction... inside of a subaction.

PSA vs. OpenSA vs. Tabuu vs. HxD:

First of all, OpenSA and Tabuu are the SAME THING. Tabuu Alpha 3 = OpenSA 3. And you need a Hex Editor in order to actually edit what you find in OpenSA/Tabuu, so technically this section is "PSA vs. OpenSA/Tabuu + HxD"

The reason I am stating this is because for about 30 minutes I thought they were separate things and I was frantically looking for a download for OpenSA 3. A lot of the notes and documentation you'll find about all this stuff is very vague and open to interpretation. So whenever I add notes, I'll try to be as precise as necessary (not as possible, because come on, you have to help yourself SOMETIMES). It'll save you trial and error.

Help / Adding the Chain Chomp for Baby Mario Bros.
March 19, 2012, 11:49:06 AM
I am making a Baby Mario Bros PSA, and I wanted to replace something with a Chain Chomp so I could use it in their entrance, and some of their attacks.

Could I replace their rubber string article (if so, how)?

Could I replace the Condor that drops them off in their Entry (and would I be able to make the Condor/Chain Chomp reappear after entry?)?

Would it be possible at all?

General Hacking Discussion / Death voice clip?
March 18, 2012, 06:42:26 PM
How do I access a characters death voice clip? For instance, when you fall off the stage horizontally it makes a unique sound.

EDIT: Nevermind, solved it myself. BUT I found some very useful links:

http://pastebin.com/f635MwL4 - list of sound-file names and corresponding id's
http://rapidlibrary.com/source.php?file=ulzxntzqnfi89on&sec=5860f3c1 - downloadable sounds (all of them)

Okay, there's a couple of questions of I have about PSA which I've forgotten the answer too.

For one, I know there are two different versions of PSA I should use (plus the Dante's mod, which I think is for... Dedede and the Pokemon trainer?), which are the two latest versions.

Which version do I use for which situation? If I recall correctly, the newest one can cause corruption problems, which can single-handedly take a dump on all of your hard work. For instance, when should I use the latest one, and when should I use the other one (I think it's v1.3 and v1.4)

Uhhh... any new updates on PSA? anything I should know since I stopped modding (which was about 2 months ago).

Attacks and Animations / Illimvra PSA Thread
December 29, 2011, 08:19:20 PM
Hey guys, it's Illim here (I never introduced myself, so just assume you already know me) with a cool PSA to go with that awesome Ninja Mario model. There are some graphical issues, but they're very minute and quite unnoticeable.

It's not near complete yet, however I have gotten most of the harder things out of the way (like his Specials).

List of changes:
1.) He runs much faster and has better ground maneuverability.
2.) Air maneuverability slightly better.
3.) Side special changed
4.) Up special changed
5.) Down special changed
6.) Various animation swaps/changes
And most importantly....

7.) His final smash has been changed.

Pictures!

Down B -
Mario goes into a defensive stance and after being attacked...

He explodes.

This move has mediocre knockback, however it's very good for preventing juggles/infinite combos (other than Chain grabs).

Up B -

Mario disappears in a cloud of fiery smoke and reappears with a fiery return. The move is a great spiking move as the first mini-explosion where he disappears knocks enemies into the air, then the second one spikes them heavily.

Side B -

Mario dashes forward and quickly dashes back duplicating his original cape effect, however it has much more range and deals more damage. The only set-back is that though this move doesn't actually move you you can still be attacked if dash into someone's attack unprepared.

Final Smash -

Mario's final smash is now a combo attack (like Ike's Great Aether, Link's Triforce slash, etc...)
It starts off with him making a -very- brief dash (so you'll need to be close), if the dash hits, Mario does a fiery uppercut, and leads into

A leap into the sky, which leads into a long series of back flips. During this stage Mario is rapidly firing fireballs

After he finishes firing fireballs, Mario lands then begins dashing back and forth attacking the enemy

Once this is complete, he leaps into the air and conjures a huge fireball. He slowly drags it to the ground with him

After landing he slams the giant fireball into the ground causing a coal explosion!

Future Changes:
1.)Remove the helpless state from Mario's Up-B move
2.)Revamp the normal attacks and animations

This is my PSA agenda after completing Ninja Mario's moveset:

1.)King K. Rool (Dedede) PSA
2.)Petey Pirahna (Wario) PSA
[EDIT] I changed my mind. I'm just going to work on the PEtey Piranha PSA/animations. I got all of his primary animations done (i.e: those that appear most frequently in game such as jumping, falling, landing, etc...) -AND- his moveset.

I shall post pictures soon. Also this is now my PSA thread (rather than spamming the forum with new topics I'll just use this one.

My request:

I really enjoyed working on this moveset, and it would be awesome if someone could make a ninja costume for Luigi as well, I'd be glad to make a moveset for him as well.

Help / Nullifying Knockback Growth
December 29, 2011, 05:32:47 PM
I have an attack that has high knockback, because it knocks you into the air, then the user teleports into the air and knocks you back down, and I want the distance the other player is knocked up to always be the same. IS there any way to do this? I set knockback growth to 0 and it still OHKO's at like 30 damage (but at 0 damage it knocks you up and back down perfectly).

How can I achieve this effect?

Help / Animation Flags: "Moves Character" problem
December 28, 2011, 05:58:52 PM
for some reason the animation flag for "Moves Character" does not work if the original programming of a move is removed or replaced. Does anyone know which snippet controls whether or not the animation actually moves the character?

I was working on a PSA for ninja mario and I have it so that his up-b teleports like Sheik (it even allows the directional movement) however I'm using an if statement to move the character then changing the sub action in order to swap animations. It successfully distinguishes the direction of movement being held however it doesn't actually move the character. How can this be fixed?

Thanks for reading.
