After running various tests with various recording software, I have come to the conclusion that my computer isn't of highest performance...

So I feel this is a good opportunity to put your skills to use by having you record future videos for my future PSAs.

For a basic test, I'd like you to record a video showcase of my Raptor PSA. Take note I haven't done the Sounds yet, so the character will have Wolf's SFX.

Specials.

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

I'd love to do so, i'll get right on the Raptor PSA showcase. it should be done and ready sometime tomorrow, thanks for the opportunity.

Do model changing psas like Sonic, Bowser, and Wario work? And do clones of them work? Model changing was an issue...

And you're saying that the CSS things don't work properly, correct?

From what i've found, yes model changing psas do work, Sonic and Bowser work completely fine, unfortunately i've replaced Wario with Shadow so i can't say for him. I remember there was a crash for sonic and marth clones, where their final smashes would crash the game. But after messing around, i found that its easily fixed by using the fighter config files from the unstable build rather than from v1.2

When using V2's fighter config file, you cant open it in config utility, unless you change the version number with a hex editor, but if you do do so, the crash will come back, so any changes need to be solely from hex editing.

With my CSS problem, yes thats correct, all clones with cosmetics that are 145 (91 in hex/whats actually put in the cosmetic config file) and up, share the same CSS icon, and names, as the clone with the cosmetic ID 144 (But the CSPs work fine). This doesnt affect any of the clones below said value.

Is it just me, or has anyone else found that (for UNSTABLE build) using cosmetics that utilize MiscData[145] and up (in char_bust_tex_lz77) load everything properly except the CSS icons/csp name? Cause all my clones utilizing cosmetics above 145 show css icons and the MenSelchrChrNm/MenSelchrChrNmS of MiscData[144] Of course i've changed the actual images in the MiscData[70] and [30] of the sc_selcharacter.pac, but it seems to do nothing.

Your video seems of reasonable quality. I could possibly use your assistance, as my only method to record is Bandicam + Dolphin. :L

If a character has a mechanic to them, could you add explanations to them?

Hahah, thanks. At least your lucky enough to have a computer that can run brawl on Dolphin :P

Sure i could add explanations, sending a PM with any specific mechanics would probably be the best way to notify me. Or, if the PSA already has a thread where said mechanics are explained, a link to them should be fine.

This is quite interesting, I might ask for your services later. Hopefully soon ;)

Glad to hear, i'd be happy to help whenever you need it.

[So:]

Hey guys, so im no PSA/texture/importer/vertex creator so i don't really have much to contribute when it comes to actual content here. However, i do love making videos of pretty much any type, so i thought i'd occupy myself and see if i could help anyone here out.

I've often seen PSAs on the Vault with either no working image preview links, or a couple that don't really convince me to put in the time to install a new clone (for Brawlex) specifically for that PSA. Those which i do download usually have videos that help massively by actually show me the quality of what im downloading.

So:

Pretty much i'd like to make showcase/preview videos of your PSAs for you to upload onto your vault entry (or wherever you want) that you may not be able to/want to make. If you don't have the resources, don't have the time, or are just too lazy to make these videos for your content, i'd be glad to do so for you.

Example (PSA by Mephisto):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eByypY2a1U
(How do i embed video?)

Of course i would give all the information for the hack in the description of the video, along with the necessary links to the vault entry/ forum post (if there is one). If you ARE to request a video, once it is up, i will notify you and send you the link (Or will keep it private until you are ready to use).

Of course college and other life events may delay production of a video, but i think its safe to say once accepting a request, it should only take 1-2 days...3 max. The videos would be uploaded to a fresh youtube channel i put together (since i can't remember my old one...)

Im not really sure how well this would work out, or if anyone's even looking for this or not, but hey, its better than doing nothing.

TL;DR
Request a preview video for your PSA, and i'll make one for you.

LA-Bit[54] is where the current costume ID is stored.

Oooh, ok, that should help me quite a bit, thanks.

Also, i've ran into an issue where any fighters with IDs 67+ will only load the css icon/name of fighter 65, yet they will load the correct cosmetics for everything else. Is there a way to fix this? (Im using the unstable build)

Okay, so I'm helping on a project that is trying to put two characters on one icon. So far it's a success.

i've been trying to get this to work for a couple days now, mind explaining how you pulled it off? If you consider it a secret/an important part of your project that you'd rather not reveal just yet, i understand.

That would be a BrawlEx problem, not a PSA problem. All Marth clone final smashes screw up.

Keep in mind that im pretty much an absolute nobody when it comes to the Brawl hacking community, so i surely could be wrong about some things but:

I've been experimenting with the unstable build of the clone engine, and it seems that all marth clones that use fighter config files from versions 1.2.0.0 and below DO indeed crash the game. however, if you simply replace the fighter config file with one from V 2.0.0.0, it should fix that issue. Since BX config utility doesnt open config files from this version, you'll need to edit/rename things in the fighter config file using a hex editor, although thats as simple as typing the desired name over marth's/whosoever's config file it is, wherever it appears.

That being said, im unable to figure out how to edit what costumes are checked (like when checked in config utility editor) by using the hex, so if you happen to know, i'd appreciate the info. To whoever happened to be unaware of this, hope it helps. :)
