Talking about Mute City, new video showing progress. I've changed the color of the fog, animated some light thingies and made the clouds come back. They were used as if they were the city, don't know if my fault or DSX8's. Doesn't really matter xD
Still a lot of things to change/improve. But I guess it was about time to make some video.
What an amazing work! And i think the improved textures of the Cars from Port Town fit even better than the original, or did you change any of them? If not, do you have plans to change them or is it even possible? And what Im wondering is.. What happend to the soundeffects from that stage like the Signal Alerts as you have shown here:
I feel the vault is just a place with no control at all, people fill it with repeated things, uncredited edits of hacks made after many hours by others and things with no quality at all. And that's sad for somebody that loves this the way I do.
This is one of the few reasons why I am focusing on the hacks and not on putting them on the Vault or spending time in the forums. The only things I like about this website is that it is the best place I could find so far for sharing productive thoughts with others and contacting people with very good Brawl Hacking knowledge to learn from eachother. And of course cuz people can share decent results or such an accurate work like Mewtwo2000 does.
This is indeed one of your Highlights to me. A big thank you for this gorgeous looking stage! Not only that you brought back the fancy lightings, you allways know how to set up camera movements in those stages, it acts like in melee, so you get the nostalgic feelings of GameCube Melee times while playing.
Now im even more excited to see your results with Mute City!
Hope the stage is finally not deceiving or anything, I'm putting a lot of effort to make it look as good as possible, and to make it work with cars and stuff. Anyway, don't forget the base animations and the stage itself aren't mine, DSX8 is who started the stage and I'm working on it cause I wanted him to let me improve it after fixing the collisions. I suppose we can say it's now our stage, but remember it was his stage first. And that's a good reason to try my best on it now.
Very very awesome project. The best Stage Hack ive seen here in a long time.
More progress, now it works over Port Town. The only 'issue' I find when playing it is that Port Town sometimes ignores a stopping spot, and continues the way. So, Mute City does that same thing, it sometimes won't stop on some of the spots. Also, theres one less spot to stop in Mute City, I will have to make it stop twice in a place, or make it stop between the final of the stage and the beginning, for example. Not a big deal, the deal will be animating the cars properly. They're already there, and I'm sure their ways are editable. It will use some work, but I guess this will be great once made.
So, there will be a no-cars and no-damage version over FD and others, and a special version for Port Town with damage and cars.
It's being interesting xD
Looking forward to the version over Port Town with the cars of course!!!
i just really wanted that stage, but I dont want to be mean but why did he quit before releasing the sage?
I dont even get why somebody would think that i quit stage hacking just because i am not online. Im working on 3 stage projects at the same time and as i stated before im really busy and allways glad to get time to continue my stages, which doesnt mean spending time in the forums.
As you can read in my first post, i care for every detail and i will never release any unfinished stages. So again, pls be patient.
Right now i am busy with interior renovations. So i have to pause stage hacking.
Damn man! Saria looks sick! Which stage does it go over? Either way I NEED that stage man, it looks bad ass, and I loved Adventure. Good luck with your projectsman, lookslike you got some skills.
Works over Jungle Japes for now! Ill try to get it working over many stages.
So you're finally here showing your real first stage. And what a surprise, it's from a game nobody has made anything from yet. It's big, beautiful, with custom lighting, fogs, shadows on the ground...
You're definitely doing a big entrance with this stage
Right now, the only complaints I have with that magnificent stage are the shadows. But I don't mean character shadows, they're great. I mean that trees and other elements like mushrooms are not casting anything, while character shadows are really dark.
It would be a little more of work, and you may need to edit your model in 3dsmax, but if you added some shadows for some of the elements, your Gamecube stage would definitely look official.
By the way, if the model is currently an obj import, you must know that you are able to export it as a dae, and import it again so it's using stage lights, and not character ones. That's not really necessary, and may screw up the UV coordinates in some cases, so not necessary to do that. Just to let you know that it's possible to do.
Nice previews, and welcome to stage hacking, I'm sure I'll have to look in this thread a lot
Thanks for the honest opinion. I will definitely try to flollow your advice and will trying to add shadows for the elements of the stage! I wanna try to get the best results i can, before finally releasing it.
I edited my textures again on Peach's Castle and Great Bay to fit in the shades thanks to Mewtwo's Material Tool! Ill try to update these too in the future.
Maybe you Guys will notice the detailed improvements. And sorry for not having better screenshots to show the the diffrences.
