are u trying to use both?

try putting an unedited common5.pac in and seeing if it works.  if it does, add one csp and see if that causes it to freeze.  if it doesnt proceed from there

the misc data 30 affects the name over the CSPs and in misc data 70 it changes the name and picture for the little token selector that your hand grabs to pick the characters....thanks for the advice tho ill try that

I dont really understand what you mean sorry...its a complex idea so its hard to articulate i know Smiley

My understanding is this

you put your marker on the character you want and push the button combo and select the character

this triggers the game to go take the portrait id and match it to the corresponding character id.

if the portrait id matches the id in the code, then the code tells the game to load the files from the corresponding character in the folder that you set for alternate files.

thus, if the css is changed, it will not use the correct portrait id, and the alternate files wont be loaded....

sooo if thats all true, i guess I need to know how to find the portrait ID of a given portrait in a CSS?

hey Im trying to use Almas's alternate file code with your CSS....any idea how your coding is affecting the character mini portraits (with the lightning) and how they point at the character?  When I open up your CSS in CSS organizer, it looks different from in game and the custom CSS v3 code you are using reassigns all of the character id to portrait info.

on a separate note, did you ever post a template with just the lightning (ive seen in requested but i dont believe you ever posted it.)

It's impossible for me to set a player to none if the wiimote is on.  Any known fixes (besides removing the batteries from the wiimote?)

Besides that this is an amazing CSS aesthetically and organizedly as well.  It would be a great addition to my game Smiley

hey,

So my brawl randomly freezes for no reason when I enter the brawl option in the game to play w/ other people.

I am using a common5.pac that I made myself.

I have been trying to locate the problem by adding one segment at a time.  I was able to load in my CSPs, but I cannot change the items inside misc data 30 without it crashing.

Also, I tried importing the data from misc data 70 from a different CSS to mine because I liked the pictures, but this caused a crash as well.

The strangest thing is that I just put in my data from misc data 30, but only the custom CSPs loaded, not the data from there, which is odd because they are in the same common5.pac

Hey,

So I have Almas's alternate file code working fine.  However, if i try to use a different CSS that the normal one, the code does not load the alternate character.

I know that the way the code works, is that it takes the picking of the character and uses the identification on the CSS to load the code, which means that if you redefine the games character id to Selection Image, breakdown of the code is expected. 

Ideas on how to fix?

It's easy, While I wait for Cloud to be released I work onto my Isaac model so I have something to get distracted; This and the fact that the more time Cloud take to be done the best Cloud will be... so I can easily wait =)

u making a moveset to go with that Issac model....seeing as golden sun one of my top 3 games of all time...you should Cheesy

I don't think the excitement for this died, only that everyone is waiting patiently for the next release.

then how is it advantageous at all to use the sc_selcharacter instead of the common5....when would you want a change in the file and not need to reset the game....?

2a: You can use sc_selcharacter.pac all by itself for your custom portraits.  Doesn't require a game reset when edits are made.


what do you mean by game reset...ive seen you say it a bunch
