1  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl!- BETA RELEASE 2- on: March 16, 2014, 06:46:44 PM
Revision 3 is finally done!

https://www.dropbox.com/s/sltz1l3d4nlolp4/VillagerPSARevision3.zip

new stuff - Throws and Final Smash done, and the Kirby Hat started.

i put the costumes in there just in case, but they haven't changed since last time, so you don't need to change them.  the rest of the files have changed though.  i updated the ReadMe to tell you where to put the extra stuff, and included a ChangeLog, even if it's not too informative...

so with that, i have a few tweaks i want to make to this version, but the next update will (hopefully) include all the extra versions i've promised, being an .rel port to someone other that Pit, a BrawlEx port, and a Project: M version.  and once those are done, i'll focus on my Clean Up list, get the CSPs and extra stuff ready, and call it a Final Release.
Nice, nice, and NICE! I would try it, but I can't hack because my SD card broke... But this'll look promising on YouTube! Great job man!

so i have another question.  i know i said i was going to release another update tomorrow, and i'm fully prepared to do so, but would you guys mind having a 96.875% done Final Smash with it, or should i try to get it fully done first?  right now i'm having some trouble getting the Screen Tint to work, when it did just fine previously.

the update will have the Throws done, the Final Smash (almost) done, and a new present...

although right now it's just the Hat.  i thought i at least got the Slingshot Bullet in, but it doesn't feel like playing nicely right now, and getting the Slingshot itself in will take some extra work, since i need to replace Pit's Bow with it, whereas i have it on the Villager's character model instead.

The update is useful for tomorrow, then you can work on what needs to be fixed after feedback WHILE working on the Final Smash.

That Kirby hat looks awesome! Cheesy

why thank you.  i believe it's a great PSA as well.  but the Final Smash actually won't have Resetti (can't make him spawn), nor will it have Bees (i'd rather not just cheap out and use Pit's, plus i couldn't get the Tree in without a ton of extra work, and it never looked quite right even when it was in).

i can say that it'll involve this though...

so while i'm here, i'd like to ask a question.  if i were to have an .rel made for the Villager, who would you like to see him over?  personally, i'd like to do Wario, so that i could have both the Male and Female Villagers without needing to swap files.  that'd also let us have the icon, victory song, and all that stuff too, without it messing with anyone else's.  plus i'm not too fond of Wario.  this port would be in addition to the BrawlEx and P:M versions, so keep that in mind.

Wario is PERFECT! I never use him! Cheesy Now about this picture... Let me Sherlock Holmes it for a min. So, He would select no, and the screen would go black, or "Reset". Then all enemies would take damage, 40-80%. Then a launch (Optional) and it ends. I'd laugh and say "Holy ****!" If Nintendo had the same Final Smash, but in their form.

as am i.  and of course there's no rush, i simply do things when i can.  speaking of, next week is my spring break, so i can half promise an update with at least the Throws by next Sunday.  i still need to make a few more of the Catch animations, and i've been messing around with the Final Smash a bit, so far only being able to throw it into an infinite loop.  so yes, an update soonish.
Neato! Sothis Final Smash will include the bees and Restti, I think. Besides this, This is the best PSA I've seen so far!

and for the final Throw, the Back Throw.  wanted to give the Axe a bit more love.  once again, the Net will be there for the first few frames.

Wow. The axe might hurt if aimed at the head.....

i think i'm having a little too much fun on these.  ThrowLw now.  same with ThrowHi, the Net will be there for the first few frames, but then switch to the Shovel.  opponent goes under his foot.

I can totally imagine this, and him screaming "FORE!!!" XD

it's actually the 'I caught a Bug!' animation.  and yes, the opponent will be held up then tossed up at the end.

Hah, cool! I think this hack will be the best yet! But is it normal for this to remind me of Megaman's Throw for SSB4? It DOES seem similar....

hmmmm...  i should re-implement the Glide?  that the Villager should use the furniture leaf in an attack?  different costumes?  make the Villager 100% immune to everything because that's another item Link is using in that shot?  since it's Wind Waker and it has cell shading, that i should get off my lazy butt and do the extra Material stuff like i've been meaning to do?  i need to go play Wind Waker again, because it's been a few years since i have and my Wii U needs some more play time?  guess i'm not seeing it, you'll probably need to be a little bit more specific.
Well Snoopy, by the end of your paragraph i see it was a troll, but I was saying an item's EFFECT being used, not the item itself. But I can TRY to find something that springs ideas.

Um...the fact that Fi isn't present and that the batteries on your Gamepad are running low?
Fi? Bro, DIS is Wind Waker.

BESIDES the fact it's a different game, does ANYTHING AT ALL give you ideas? (Wii U screenshot by me.)

So I havent been on for a long time, And i have an idea. try using a program to model/hack the Assist Trophies. This might be dumb because i don't mod or hack. :-P But it won't hurt to try! Just... save BEFORE you do it. XD
13  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Villager Joins the Brawl!- BETA RELEASE- on: December 12, 2013, 03:30:50 PM
sorry for the bit of silence, been focusing a lot on college the last few weeks, especially since this week is finals for me.  which means in a few days i'll finally have some time to work on the Villager a bit more.

a few things to note.  i believe i have a general idea of why the constant freezing after the match is happening.  i think it's something with the FitPit.pac file.  i've reduced the texture file size for the Villager a fair amount, but nothing changed.  i then removed the MotionEtc to test, and it still froze after just a few matches.  i then put the MotionEtc back and removed the FitPit.pac, and it took a lot longer to freeze, about 20 matches compared to 4.  of course the last few were quickly entering and exiting immediately, so even that freeze could just be from a memory overload or something.  so i at least have a lead on that.

as for the Side B, i have one of two options.  the first is to try to copy how it will be in Smash 4 exactly, according to this...

the second option is to still have the two separate parts, but say something like he hops on when in air, and just fires it when on ground.  this will probably be the easier option, but i may try the first one anyways.

so yeah, that's what's been going on with me the last bit.  i wouldn't just release a beta and call it done.
Amazing, man. You have the perserverance of a candy junkie in a candy store. XD I'd say the first one will be a bit of a pain, but I hope it works for you. The way it works sounds like it can't fit in the moveset, or work in the moveset.

Hey snoopy, does this spring an idea in that productive mind of yours? XD

Excellent! I hope to see this thing get BETTER than Nintendo quality. And hid attacks could be faster and stronger. Also he is too big. BUT everyone said this already.
