1  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Weird lag/slowdown on: October 19, 2012, 10:24:20 PM
Haven't had a chance to play Brawl until now, but I got around to it.

After a few matches, it happened. Four characters were fighting on a hacked stage. The slowdown seemed to occur when a Dragoon Piece appeared, which was hacked to be a Hydra piece. This was backed up because as I zoomed in and out with the camera, the glitchy lines seemed to be coming from the Hydra piece and connecting to it.

This is odd, however, since this same Hydra piece appeared in an earlier match (different characters and stage) with no ill effects.

Also, I made the mistake of trying to take a screenshot for y'all. It made a crash Tongue

There's never any pattern. It's a different set of circumstances every time.

Although I did play a bunch of matches with the items turned completely off, and it didn't happen. So it probably is an item-related problem...

But if it were a character or stage hack, then wouldn't it be laggy all the time?

Oh, really? Well, I have no idea. I've replaced pretty much everything.

At first I thought it was one particular item that was causing the problem (Since it seems to match up with the length of time an item shows up, then disappears)

But I ran through all of the items one by one in Training Mode, and nothing happened.

Can someone help out a total idiot?

Sometimes while Brawling with texture hacks on (No other codes, just file replacement), everything will suddenly go really slow and laggy. Certain objects will disappear, and there are strange lines appearing over the screen. This can last a short time or a long time.

Eventually, the slowdown will end. This will be followed by the game going in fast motion, as if to catch up to where it left off. The length of sped-up gameplay seems to match the length of slowed-down gameplay.

It's extremely annoying and I'd love to be able to fix it if I could. I already tried formatting the SD card.

I can try to record a video of this problem, but hopefully this text description should be enough.

Okay. How exactly would I do that?

I downloaded a bunch of Zelda texture hacks. Most of them work perfectly, but some are causing problems.

For one, the textures on both Shiek and Zelda load just fine, but it freezes when I transform from Sheik to Zelda (but not Zelda -> Sheik)

And for another one, the same thing happens, but vice versa.

And before you say, yes I have .pac files for all of them. They're named properly, and they all came with their downloads (ie, I didn't create any .pacs using lz77ex.)

Any help? Thanks!

Hey, I'm still having some problems.

I did manage to get lots of textures hacked in, which is great, but some of the hacks still end up with the message that it's too large. And yes, I am using that new list where I add +1 or +2 to some of the values, but I'm still having a problem.

Any help?
