The model for Lucina's new Falchion is done! At least, in the polygon department. I still need to map the thing and texture it, which I'll probably end up doing later.

Amazing work. If you finish the faces and the falchion before I'm done with some parts, let me know. Are you gonna make a new sheathe too?

I think I'll give the full model a revamp. This includes new cape, belts and better shaped polygons. I'll make it as close as I can to the smash 4 model. I'll also try toning down the polygon count. Meanwhile, have some progress:

Thought I'd share this since I got the permission to use the model! I'm giving Lu a much-needed face makeover, built off of Zero Suit Samus'. I got pretty tired of the 2D face, to be honest, and decided to give this a shot. I've got her expressions to work on, still, but I'd like to know what you guys all think.

Of course, with a 3D face, she'll have eye movement! And yes, she will have the two different eyes, just look at the preview.

I'd actually like to make a new model for at least her hair. I'd need the new model in .obj or .3ds though, so I don't screw the proportions.

So Awakening Marth 2.0 is still in hack purgatory?
I think so. It only needs to be rigged to Marth's bones, but since I don't know how to do that, I need another one who does it for me.

...Yo Vert, I hate to be that guy, but what's the status with Lord Ike? The one on the OP. What with Smash 3 Ike's latest release, I'm seriously dying to get cracking on a Lord Ike texture. Problem is, I don't do imports and vertexing a proper Lord Ike is impossible.
My first priority right now is to see the completed models imported (Both Radiant Dawn Ikes and Awakening Marth). I'd like to touch up Lucina and Hero Ike a bit though, considering I have better references now that the're both confirmed for Smash 4.

Lucina's not a complete separate character, I'm sure. She's basically a Marth skin with different voice and a few different animations (taunts, counter, jump...). This opens a new world of possibilities: Blood Falcon, Daisy, Doctor Mario, Louie, ...
The same goes for Pitoo. He'll be identical to Pit, but with different voice, taunts, and maybe weapons.

Also is worth noting that Lucina's the only character whose render pose is not new.

The fact that he's... the game's main character... is a pretty solid argument for Chrom's priority as the Awakening representative.






It's debatable. Chrom's like Sigurd: arguably not the real main character of his own game. The real protagonist is Seliph, and in Awakening's case, Lucina.
Also, keep in mind that the avatar is a reccurring character in the series, appearing in Blazing Sword, New Mystery of the Emblem, and Awakening.

I saw a new model in iwantgames thread that was like 100000 times better than mine. I really like how it's coming out so far.
That stage looks great.
How does everyone feel about the new suit for Marth in Project M?

I really like it, though I would've preferred an accurate Sigurd skin rather that a design inspired on him. But the final product is so good, it doesn't really matter. I also read that they debated about using Awakening Marth. If they still want to use him in the future, I'd gladly give them my model. It'd only need a new texture to match better their style.

If the Awakening Marth were to be released some time in the future, would it be Project M compatible? I really love the model and I am not too sure if I would use the model if it affected the gameplay of Project M. Also, just like the previous versions, will we also be seeing a masked version or various swords included with the release?
I suppose it will be fully compatible. Also no masked version, but 4 swords to choose: Rapier, Awakening Falchion, Exalted Falchion, and SSBWiiU/3DS Classic Falchion.

I hate to sound impatient but how is the progress on Awakening Marth? Is he almost finished because he looks amazing. As for Hero Ike, I can tell it won't be too soon before he is released.
Awakening Marth's model is finished, and I sent it to RamonM64 months ago. He started working on him last week though, since he was previously unaware on my message, so we should get news soon.
Also, Hero Ike's actually finished too. It just needs rigging.

about the boots, do they have the pop-out part near the knee, like the new ones you made for Lucina?

Glad you like to rig the model again! And yes, I reused the same pieces I made for Lucina's boots.
I'd assume that the OP holds pretty much everything that's going on.

I should update the OP with the new finished projects.

Anyways, just finished my last exam! Right now awakening Marth is nearly done model-wise. I'll send the textures to shun for some overall improvements (specially on the rapier and it's sheath) and then I'll send the model to ramonM64 so we can start porting it to brawl.
