31  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: The Albafika/SJS Projects - Lucina Released 01/17 on: January 17, 2014, 06:56:59 AM
Aye. And for further ease of use, there's a Sawndz file uploaded to the vault. Laura Bailey clips that is. Not so much Yu Kobayashi yet. I'll need to do some searching to make a Sawnd for that, heh.
Finally was able to create a non-glitched up file, so no more worrying about the tedious process of replacing every single SFX with one WAV at a time, hahaha.

(Also, that PSA doesn't seem to want to work with the new model. I'm going to see if I can do something about that...)
Hey, I have all voice clips and sound effects from the japanese version of Awakening. They were included in the original soundtrack.

Also, excellent job on Lucina, guys. She looks incredible in-game!
32  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: Fire Emblem model importing thread - Marth and Roy on: January 12, 2014, 06:41:32 AM

A design me and Shun are working on. Essentially we were striving to mix Ike's Ranger design, and Ike's Hero design.

I did most of the model edits while Shun drew up designs as well as did tetures on certain parts. Overall I'm happy with how it turned out, but I'd love to get more input on the design and would be interested in any ideas anyone else has for it.

Looks great so far! It would be fun if this gets released before the actual hero/vanguard models.

I've got some progress on Awakening Marth v2. He's almost done model wise, but he needs some texture fixes. I'm not sure if i'll use SatoshiKura's Shadow Dragon Marth's hair, because I'm not sure if it would look good in my model.
The most notable change is that I redid completly his arms and upper body, so it looks great. I also remapped a lot of things.
Ah, and I NEED SOMEONE TO RIG THIS MODEL.
Here are some previews:

Here are all the weapons he'll use. [MINOR AWAKENING ENDGAME SPOILERS]

Hey Vert, I'm curious on how the progress is on the updated Lodestar Marth and Awakening Roy. Don't know what your busy with right now, so I'm just asking.

Oh, I've been busy with this:

It needs a lot of work but I think I'll actually finish it.

And about Lodestar Marth, The part that needs more work is the tunic. I have to work on it's UV mapping a lot, and connecting his sleeves with his body.
I already vertexed his hair, remapped a lot of textures, ported stuff from SJS's retextured Lucina, gave him new shoulderpads, a modified tiara, and a Rapier:
Still needs a lot of work, so it''ll take a while:

And about Awakening Roy I'm having trouble exporting his model from Project M. I managed to get his new sword of seals and most of his hair, but I'm having trouble with his faces and the back part of his hair.

Figured I'd share this here where all the Fire Emblem stuff is. Not a hack, but over the past few months, I've been recording a Fire Emblem guitar album based on Awakening's soundtrack. It's called 'Exalted Melodies' and features 46 songs from the game completely rerecorded by me on guitar and bass. Just finished recording it last night and mastering it this morning. All I have to say from a musical perspective: 'Holy [censored] the composers are good.' Now I have to finish packing for MAGFest. Wink

Download:

Downloading right now! I'm sure I'll like your album considering I love your F-ZERO covers.

Actually, I'm really surprised that you didn't base his colors on his sprite work, or even his artwork necessarily. I was a little confused when I noticed how... purple-y you made his tunic/cape.
Ah, but that's because the original texture was made by Pik, I just ported it over the different models released. I didn't change the colors because I thought it looked cool like that. The colors in Crixler's version are more accurate.

In my headcanon, Roy's Melee/Project M appearance (purple cape, more ornate armor, etc) is more or less what he'd look like after he promotes if his sprite were detailed enough to tell the difference. But that's just what I think, lol.

I'm not a huge fan of Brawl's approach to textures for characters like Mario, but I don't mind it for the more realistic characters, like Link, Samus, or the Fire Emblem ones. My philosophy is that the characters should generally tend to resemble their official art.

Edit: Holy grail, I just realized that Roy's armor design switches to his Smash design later on in Hasha No Tsurugi. My headcanon holds some weight after all. Sweet.
Except even then, his cape is still blue, not purple.
That's cool! I never knew that because I only read the first volumen of Hasha no tsurugi. Ah, and I think the logo on the back of his cape is Pherae's emblem (or maybe Lycia's?).

This is fantastic.

Also, Vert, I used your Binding Blade Roy as a base to do this.

It retains a lot of the extra detail from the default Project M version, with some modified textures from yours, your model, lots of tweaks to lots of textures, and the colors are inspired by this art.

If you're cool with it, I might look into uploading it.

Looks great! It looks somewhat better than my version.
And of course feel free to upload it, just give credit to the people who previously worked on the model and it's textures.

Speaking of which, I've used your new Roy to remake my old Nostalgia Roy hack.

Some renders...

I'm not uploading it as a new hack on the vault, however I am updating my old submission with the new file. Do you have any preferences in terms of credit/collab status?

You based his colors on his sprite? Interesting choice, though I don't really like the style used in the GBA titles. I always preferred the SNES sprites and animations.
And about the credit stuff, same as above: just give some credit to all who previously worked in the model and textures.

...With a sheathe? If not, don't worry about it; I wanna try my hand at a recolor myself.
It's the older model Thany released. So yes, it has a sheathe.
38  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: Fire Emblem model importing thread - Marth and Roy on: December 24, 2013, 05:50:07 AM
Already waaaaaaaaaay ahead of you.
I already have an SoS styled Roy in the vault... but it was my first hack ever and that being said it could really use a clean update. I imagine you don't mind if I use this as a base for my improved version?

Wish you could add Roy's sheathe to the model... apparently Pik and Thany couldn't do it due to file size limitations.

I can send you the older version I made with the original colors. Just let me know.

Alright, guys...

Here are your choice of swords with SSB4 Marth!

Amazing. I really like the new texture.
And speaking of textures, I just finished porting the old Binding Blade Roy texture to the new model from Project M. I redid some parts like the bandana from scratch, and vertexed parts of the model. Also I won't make a version with the original colors from his artwork, since it would look out of place with the other Roy costumes.
I want someone to get some pictures, then I'll release.

40  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: Fire Emblem model importing thread - Chrom + Vanguard & Lord Ike on: December 19, 2013, 12:59:01 PM
I'm eagerly awaiting the release of Awakening Roy so I can put him on Project M Roy.

Also, dat Hero Ike.

I'll resume work on awakening Roy once I finish Awakening Marth. After seeing the new alternate costumes released for Project M 3.0, I felt motivated to make (and re-make) the awakening versions of Roy and Marth. I'll even consider Ike in the future.
Right now, I'm editing Marth again. He now has a better "skirt", shaped like Lucina's, new shoulderpads, a rapier and a falchion from awakening, vertexed hair and remapped textures. I'll try to post some pictures soon.
Really looking forward to the SSB4 Marth!
Will it include and alternate FE11/12 Falchion?

http://fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/Fire_Emblem:_Shadow_Dragon?file=FE11.jpg

I'll consider making it for the new Awakening Marth.
So much better than the classic Falchion, it's absurd SSB4 is still using it, even with a FE11/12 inspired costume.

Also, was this ever released?

https://imageshack.com/i/7eroysosbrawlp

I saw it many pages back, but haven't seen it since.

Edit: I just saw that it was released, but also noticed it's using a different model than the Project M Roy.

I don't know if I ever released it, but I'll port that texture to the new model as soon as I can.
41  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: Fire Emblem model importing thread - Chrom + Vanguard & Lord Ike on: November 29, 2013, 04:05:37 AM
you guys showed the other ike so I thought I show the one I am working on too

materials and stuff for transparency aren't done yet. I also didn't attach everything to their correct visibility bone. before I do the material and stuff I have to touch up on the rig for a few areas.

Looks really good so far. Keep up the good work!
42  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: Fire Emblem model importing thread - Chrom + Vanguard & Lord Ike on: November 28, 2013, 01:44:20 PM
To be honest, looks kinda cool.
43  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: Fire Emblem model importing thread - Chrom + Vanguard & Lord Ike on: November 28, 2013, 08:19:17 AM
I don't know what could be the problem, I've never played a modded brawl in a real wii so I don't know. But I think the polygon count is not a problem, the original Ike model has like 12000 faces and 4100 vertexes not counting alternate expressions, whereas my vanguard Ike has 9310 faces and 4791 vertexes not counting alternate expressions and swords.
44  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: The Albafika/SJS Projects - Mia Trueblade Released 11/21 on: November 27, 2013, 08:25:45 AM
Mia looks fantastic! I really like how her hair came out, looks great. And also nice work on Lucina, the texture update looks really good. I'd like to redo her hair and some other parts of the model in the future, though.
45  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: Fire Emblem model importing thread - Chrom + Vanguard & Lord Ike on: November 27, 2013, 08:22:44 AM
Sorry for the lack of activity, but I've been very busy on the past few months, but anyways, fantastic work!
I really like the custom SSB4 Marth you guys are making. Looks great so far and even better than the original brawl model in some parts. Once you finish him, I'd like the back of his hair and his new falchion to be in the awakening Marth update I was doing a few months ago.

I'm actually working on the Vanguard model, I've already got him ingame with all three swords. Just gotta redo a few things and get everything working correctly. Have any tips for rigging better than decent, IWG?
How is he and Ephraim coming out? I still have to finish Ephraim's hair.
