1  Help & Tutorials / Help / Brawl Vault Equivalent for Smash Bros. Melee? on: April 01, 2013, 06:59:29 PM
Hey guys,

Just wondering if there's a Melee equivalent for listing Melee hacks out there. If not, anyone know any good links to good Melee hacks, or know where I can find some/research more about it?
2  Help & Tutorials / Help / About 1-Slot Size Mods... on: October 16, 2011, 04:54:34 PM
...what is the process involved with creating them? For example, I really love this vertex --> http://stacksmash.kontek.net/?p=13974

But I also don't want EVERY one of my Link vertexes to change via the Motion file that comes with it. How would I be able to make it so this vertex works on only 1 slot of Link's?

What is the process involved? And if it's reaaally complicated, then...can someone who's really awesome possibly do it for me? I'd be like, your super biffle.
3  Help & Tutorials / Help / Dracula's Castle -EPIC- Stage Not Working w/ Custom Stage Expansion 2.0 on: August 03, 2011, 08:24:54 AM
^^^^

Essentially, this stage hack ( http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=11616 ) isn't working with the Custom Stage Expansion 2.0 pack. I'm trying to replace the Mushroom Kingdom custom stage (Melee) with Dracula's Castle.

I'm using Gecko and utilizing the correct codes. I also changed the appropriate .rel file to the Custom Stage .rel file for Luigi's Mansion. What's the deal? Why won't this hack go over a custom stage slot?
4  Help & Tutorials / Help / Stage Selection Screen Questions on: July 27, 2011, 10:33:15 AM
Hai guys!

I'm currently running Gecko and using the STGCUSTOM PACK 2 by Mewtwo2000 ( http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=13586 ).

Right now though, it looks a little plain, with all of my other selection screens getting jazz-ersized. So firstly, I was wondering if the STGCUSTOM PACK 2 was compatible with the Dark Flaming Blue SSS by ASF1nk ( http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=7173 ).

If it is, then great! My next question is whether there's a tutorial for how to modify the STGCUSTOM PACK 2's stage selection icon and preview pictures, as well as the stage titles. Any guidance on either of these two questions is greatly appreciated!!

UPDATED: I just recently ran into this gem: http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=20291.0. Would that be an easier starting point for trying to both add more stages AND have a baller Custom Stage Selection Screen?
5  Help & Tutorials / Help / Real quick question about Motion Pacs on: March 20, 2011, 09:45:46 PM
Hey guys,

So I understand what motion pacs do, and that some vertextures include them to make the vertexed character more accurate to what their going for.

However, here's two quick questions:

1. Where do I put them?
2. Do motion pacs effect the entire character model? In other words, if I apply the motion pac that came w/ Zero 3.1 (over Link), will that motion pac effect EVERY costume slot of Link's, or can I set it up to just one of Link's?

Probably a stupid question, but I'd appreciate an answer.
6  Help & Tutorials / Help / A Problem w/ Stage .rel files- Custom Stage Expansion 2.0 on: March 13, 2011, 09:19:07 PM
Hey guys,

So basically, ANY stage download that doesn't come with a .rel file gives me huge problems. I'm trying to add custom stages to the new slots the expansion pack provides, however, I realize that each one of these stages need a .rel...and the downloads that don't come with their own .rel's give me major headaches.

I know about the module file changes, and I know that after "38 A5 00 00 38 80 00" I'm supposed to add a "00" to make the stage compatible with the custom stage expansion slot. However, some stages don't properly work with it...

For example, the Valley of the End V3 (http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=12233) stage loads when I select it...but only the waterfall in the stage does. This stage download didn't come with a .rel pack, so I simply used a default rel for Jungle Japes and module modified it w/ a Hex Editor. The result was the stage only loading the waterfall portion of the stage. The rest is pitch black.

Another example, the Castlevania Clock Tower stage (http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=9235) doesn't load...at all! It freezes my game. The weird part is that it came with its own .rel pack, but the rel was already modified for Custom Stages...and it STILL doesn't work. What the heck??

Is there an additional step that I need to do to load these tricky stages? Or are they simply hopeless? I use Gecko, and have uploaded many custom stages to the custom slots (but those stages all came with their own .rel files...).
7  Help & Tutorials / Help / Knuckles Texture for Sonic Question on: March 12, 2011, 08:42:09 PM
Hey guys,

I'm just about finished customizing brawl to my likings. I'm on my last character, Sonic. I got this texture that I'd like to replace his Red Costume with: http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=2374 .

However, like the info says, there's no head on him when you bring him in-game, unless you place the FitSonic.pac in your file too. Well obviously, this places Knuckles's Head on EVERY one of my Sonic Textures...which I'd rather not do.

Is there any way around this, so I can simply have this Knuckles texture w/ his head on just ONE of Sonic's textures? And if not, is there a good Knuckles Texture out there that you can do this?
8  Help & Tutorials / Help / CSP & BSP Issues (Peculiar Situation) on: March 08, 2011, 07:05:25 PM
WOW am I lost when it comes to these two things.

I downloaded all of the character texture files I wanted. I've successfully replaced them in the Fighter folders, however, when it comes to having matching Character Selection Screen Portraits and In-Battle Screen Portraits WITH these textures, I am completely lost.

Here's the genesis of my problem: I got into hacking by downloading a "starter pack" that already included all necessary downloads. It included several Character Texture packs, with CSP's and BSP's that matched them. However, I didn't like some of the textures, so I attempted to replace them with ones I prefer. I'm always successful in replacing the textures, but the CSP & BSP is STILL the CSP & BSP that the starter pack came with.

For example, the starter pack had a Ho-Oh Falco texture over his Green Costume that I didn't like. His CSP & BSP matched the Ho-Oh texture. I currently replaced a Zant texture over Falco's Green Costume (FitFalco02.pac & FitFalco02.pcs) http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=13108. However, instead of Falco's Zant costume appearing as the CSP, the original Starter Pack CSP of Ho-Oh Falco is still there!

Here's the issue: I've opened the sc_selcharacter.pac in the menu2 folder, thinking maybe I have to manually change each CSP/BSP (lemme know if this isn't true), but when I look at the Textures Folder (NW4R) for the MiscData files, they're all SSBB's ORIGINAL CSP's-- NOT the ones this Starter Pack download has. Is this right? Or is there some other overriding file I may be missing?

Please don't point me to the tutorials, all of them don't pertain to my particular situation and haven't helped me so far.
9  Help & Tutorials / Help / Sandbag Spawns (using Custom Stage Expansion 2.0) on: March 07, 2011, 10:55:55 AM
Hey guys,

Final question concerning stages. Sometimes, when I replace stages in
http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=13586, I get a sandbag popping up in the middle of the stage constantly. Examples are the Palmacosta custom stage and Northern Crater custom stage.

I am using Gecko and modified the .rel files that came with these custom stages to properly replace one of the custom stage slots with these (I changed the numbers after "38 A5 00 00 38 80 00" to "00" on both). Now, both stages load properly, however, they load with a Sandbag spawning at the center of the stage.

Is there any way to get rid of the sandbag? Is there another line of code in the .rel I must modify? Or is there another method? Feedback is greatly appreciated! Smiley
10  Help & Tutorials / Help / Replacing Stages in STGCustom Pack 2 Error on: March 04, 2011, 09:55:58 PM
Sometimes, when I attempt to replace a custom stage in http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=13586, my game simply freezes when attempting to load the stage.

For example, custom stage #0C is currently set as "Alternative Mario Circuit" using a st_final.rel module (even though the module files wiki page says that customstages use their own module...what's that about.). I'm trying to change the level to Rainbow Road: http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=5166 .

However, I've tried both methods: replacing just the .pac file in the stage/melee folder, as well as replacing the .pac file and adjusting the .rel file in the module folder to fit the Rainbow Road base stage parameters. Why am I still getting freezes?

Is it simply the stage itself? Or is there a step I'm missing?
11  Help & Tutorials / Help / STGCustom Pack 2- How to get the extra stages on: March 04, 2011, 06:54:18 PM
Hey y'all,

Boy, the side-bar in http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=13586 is not helpful in the slightest. The file says that it contains 19 additional stages, and contains a code that will allow even more extra stages to be used.

The files go up to st_custom13 in the pack. Is adding the additional stages simply a matter of obtaining the correct .rel & .pac files, then naming them the next sequential number? So, the next one'll be st_custom14?
12  Help & Tutorials / Help / [Solved!] Game Freezes when choosing Stages (after applying Stage Expansion 2.0) on: February 26, 2011, 09:36:04 PM
Hey guys--

I'm so close to my hacking goals! I finally got the custom stages in STGcustom Pack 2 (http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=13586) to show up in the SSS, however, every time I select one of these custom stages (OR normal stages!), my game freezes.

Now, I haven't tried replacing the .PAC files with my desired stages yet, but I thought the pack was supposed to come with a few defaults? That's probably not the problem regardless......could it have anything to do with me selecting Individual Pokemon as my character? I've always tried going to a custom stage after picking Charizard.

I don't know if this is relevant, but I didn't have a "modules" folder (or .rel files) until I downoaded Stage Roster Expansion 2.0. I was using hacks fine w/o them, so I didn't think they were necessary, until I saw this download. Currently, I placed the modules folder (that has nothing but the CUSTOMSTAGE rels) in my "pf" folder.

My last guess is that it's a conflicting code I got when combining two .gct's w/ GCTEdit (ASF1nk's DarkFlaming Blue CSS & STGcustom Pack 2). Is this the case? Or could it be something else entirely? Any help is greatly appreciated!
13  Help & Tutorials / Help / Changing the Stage Replaced on: February 26, 2011, 05:31:01 PM
Hey guys. Basically, I have a texture for a "Champion Lance's Dragon Stage" that currently replaces Final Destination (in pf\stage\melee, I have it named STGBATTLEFIELD_B.PAC , making it accessible if I press and hold "Z" and "Start" when I select Final Destination on SSS).

What I was wondering was what exactly must I do to get that stage replaceable for, say, Pokemon Stadium 2? I've already tried simply renaming the file "STGSTADIUM_B.PAC", but that doesn't work. I have a hex editing program, I was just wondering if anyone could help walk me through the process of making this stage replace Pokemon Stadium 2 instead w/ the same process. I'm using .pac files, so the Wiki page doesn't help, since it just lists how to do it w/ .rel...

Any help's appreciated!!
