I'm sure this goes here or in the menu section but considering coding may be involved I thought here would be best.

I wanna change what characters are available on the starting roster (like Wolf instead of say Olimar). Basically a CSS edit. Or so I thought. I tried changing Olimar to Wolf (example btw as Olimar isn't the most useful characters in my opinion) using the CSS Organizer but it reverts back to Olimar. I'm sure I'd have to fix the Challenger Approaching Screens too but that's cool as I'd be doing so anyway. Any ideas on how to do this? Or any codes I need? Do I gotta reprogram that section of the game with a Hex tool? Quite desperate atm for this.

I'm wondering what kinds of hacks will actually work in SSE cuz I tried using Shadow over Donkey Kong & it froze & I tried the Hero of Time PSA for Link & it worked fine. I even had model hacks in too. I'm gonna try Dark Link over Link & see if it works soon.

My overall question is: What character hacks will work in SSE? Should anything work? If so then why won't Shadow over DK work? Should PSAs not work? If so then why did the Hero of Time PSA work? I need to know cuz it would be awesome to use Shadow or something in SSE.

As anyone who creates new CSSs knows you can have something like 50+ character icons on the CSS but only about 45ish are used for them. Lets say you wanted more than just ZSS, Pokemon, Sheik, ect. added. Lets say you want the alloys & Giga & Warioman & even the other costume for Wario but you just don't want them to have say Falcon's picture for Red Alloy or Bowser's for good old Giga. How would you proboly put their own pics for each icon? Post below what are the steps you'd take & I'll try them. If they work I'll let you request a cool CSS with them on it using the winning idea. I'll put mine to show you how for just in case you don't know how.



SonicWolf's Idea for Giga, alloys & WarioMan:
1: Open up CSS in BrawlBox
2: Look to see how many empty uneeded slots their are (if none I create them)
3: Put in CSPs, Character Icons, ect. in the useless file in the CSS
4: Find (or make) more useless files for Resaults & In Game for safety (lower the probobilaty of crashing then) & repeat to add in Giga & stuff
5: Save CSS (make sure to keep a copy) & open up new saved CSS in CSS Oganizer
6: Add in new icons & find faces for Giga & his friends (WarioMan, alloys) & stick 'em in
7: Save (make sure you copy the file before saving)
8: Test & hope it works!


Of course this is an idea thread so I don't want people saying something like:

"quote of someone else"
This just sucks cuz of Blah Blah Blah.

I've seen this kind of thing & its quite mean. Not very helpful ether. Still. I can't really prevent it but I would like for this thread to not have that kind of thing. It's fine to say someone's idea won't work but give a good, detailed reason why & give something to contribuite to their idea to help. This way you can say it is not a great idea but you also help them make it better.

If this works out we might be able to have characters over these slots then hacked so we can have say Shadow over DK vs Cloud over DK sense they are differnt characters in terms of slots (I don't mean like copying DK 2 times then having both in there)! This could be big so lets band together & try it out. If not it's no big deal but it would be awesome if it does work!

I have all sorts of awesome hacks but I can't have someone like say... Shadow over Sonic cuz Shadow would be on Sonic's Blue color & I'd have to change the colors around to fit the team colors & I'm quite possitive having a blue Shadow in the default Shadow slot would make no sense & would look bad. I'm just wondering if it's possible to make Sonic's Blue color over his Black instead via code & if not this is a request for a code like this. Changing the Red Blue & Green colors would be awesome cuz then it doesn't matter who you choose you can still have Blue Shadow on Blue team & Default Shadow on Red ect!

Please post below if it's a good idea if it's not yet made or if it is just post it here! I really REALLY want it.

I believe I've figured out how to make a custom thp (finally)! It takes a long time & I haven't yet done so but I thought up the main idea! (Don't do so till I can see cuz I will call you on it)

Heres what I got so far:

1: Get all videos you want parts of converted in 1 type of image (jpg, png, gif, ect)
2: Mix & match much like it would look like (look at Brawl's original intro for info). MAKE SURE TO KEEP THE FIRST FEW SECS (till right after the SSBB logo) THE SAME FOR REFERENCE!
3: Once done convert the finshed video (all images of course) into 1 thp with the selected music (can make a spare that is not a thp to test on your computer)
4: Test in game. If it still looks good HYES! The thp is made!

So far this is what I'm planing on trying. I'm forced to use things like Windows Movie Maker to convert so I don't know how it will work but I believe (if this works the way I plan) it WILL work. Tell me what you think below & I'll see if I can use your ideas & we can work together to make a new way of thp hacking!

I wanted to check out the Wii Shop Channel cuz I do so about once a week but it says I need to update. How can I get around this & is this even possible to get around? I know updating is a really risky idea (it has a 99.9% chance of permanently bricking your wii from what I hear) & downgrading is not much better. If I can delete the Homebrew Channel & stuff then update I can do so but I'm hoping to not have to delete anything. I've got a 4.3u Wii & I've had one ever since I installed the Homebrew Channel. Please help.

I've heard there is a code for brawl that lets you fight lv16 CPUs. Is this real? If so what is it?

All I need is help getting & testing the pack.
Getting part:
Just a link (with who made the hack) to the Stage, Texture or Song that you enjoy.
Testing part:
Just need 2 people to play as Toon Link Wario & Samus & tell me the ones that do not work (or that do work if it's easier).

Notes:
Since this pack will be made for WiFi only Textures are allowed in it. No models or animation edits or anything like that! I will say no to anything like (no offence to the creators) Non-transforming Pokemon Stadium, Final Fusteration, ect. as well as Zero over ____ or Tails over ____ or whatever. Only WiFi safe things will be allowed in.
If I can fix my disc (don't ask. please don't ask. i've said so a million times so check my earlier posts to find out) I'll take off the whole 2 people & ask for 1 person to test it with me. (may be someone I know already may not.)
I will be editing the Friend Roster textures myself but if you got anything for it feel free to show it.
All textures (characters only) must be able to match a original one on color. Example: My Suzy McCloud is white so it would go over White Fox. Shadow the Hedgehog (texture only) is Black & Red sure but since its mostly black it will be over Black Sonic. Stages don't follow this rule.
Move if needed.

I'm making a Wi-Fi Safe Pack soon but I need to know what can desync Wi-Fi? I'm sure things like Models can as well as Imports but what else?

Ok. I'm starting to get frustrated with all these weird, annoying problems. This time my Music (only the ones I add) stop about 5-90secs in & 1 plays for less than a second. I've tried moving them but no luck. Can somebody help me out here?

You may post yours here too if you want. The CSPs & BPs here can be any character hack as long as it can be found in the vault. Only exception is if you put it in a deferent spoiler (Yes they all must be in a spoiler) & say it's not in the vault. Recolors go with them. You also may put more than 1 CSP & BP of the same character.
Any questions I'll answer them. Now onto the CSPs!

Dark Shadow is fixed! I don't know what happend tho. Just resize any that are too big to exactly 128x160 & it should look good.


Now more personal ones for me (Might upload might not):

I'll add more & I take requests for CSPs! Just make sure I will have the motionect.pac & the character with any recolors cuz otherwise I won't be able to unless it uses the original moveset.

Hey! I'm starting a project to put a cool character into Brawl! Wanna help but don't know who? Well from Lord of the Rings it's Legolas! I just need help with whatever you can do. I think I can do the moveset if somebody can supply the base. I think his moveset will just be a combonation of Marth, Ike & Link BUT WITH DUEL SWORDS! He will be able to shoot arrows (1,2 or 3 depending on how long) & slash too. I can't Import or add moves but once I get the model I will put a link here so others can download it to help. I don't know much about Importing but if someone needs to I think they can just make his texture & put his original one (prefably from Fellowship of the Ring) on it then I just need that all ready to go. I can then make the animations. If somebody can do PSA, Model work(like metal, final smash eyes, rigging, ect) & the SFX for me I can do the rest with everyone who has joined so far (1 for now... I know idiototic). Just PM me or post here & say what you can do.

Sorry but nothing to go on yet but once the model can get in Brawl we are good to go then.

The Character Icons on my CSS need to be changed (the ones that you put you your curser on to select that charecter) cuz they have a deferent charecter on it. I don't know how tho. Can somebody tell me how to change these Icons? I wanna put a picture on them but I don't know how.

I know Characters, Stages, Music, sfx, thps work but will things like SSE, trophies, stickers, coinlauncher, stage builder, ect. work too? I use Riivolution so i wanna know.
