Is there any way for me to convert my DAE to MDL0 files, or BrawlBox is the only converter yet? (When will it be released to the public?) I also wonder that if I can't see my models in BrawlBox, does this means they won't show up in Brawl, but will crash the Wii and beep instead?
When I create a new tree or export a DAE over someone else, (any Brawl character) and go to the Model Viewer, I don't see anything. I tried the instructions at the OP, but I can't seem to be able to do them, as most steps requires things I ignore where are they and/or how to do this. Can someone re-export my models so they can be viewable in BrawlBox? I'll give the link once I get an answer.
I might suggest the new BrawlBox to have enhaced Model Viewer features, as I can't see my DAE files in BrawlBox... Everything appears as blank, but the names of textures, bones etc.. still show up, but I don't see anything. They do show up in 3ds Max, however but I've yet to understand the instructions on the OP to view any kind of model on BrawlBox. Or is it because I'm using Windows XP? Even my parent's computer don't show the models, and they have Windows 7.
If only someone could take my DAEs, import them to 3ds Max, then export them back with the instructions on the OP done at 100% to make them visible in BrawlBox...
I just noticed the thread's title changed, so I went and looked at reply #3493, but I don't get it... Does anyone know what this means?
Also I'm triying to give a non-Brawl Model Zelda's bones in BrawlBox, but each time I try saving the PAC file, it says 'error' and don't save at all. So... how can I extract a full Brawl Character's skeleton to add it to a boneless model via 3ds Max?
I was told that in order to get non-Brawl characters moving in the near-completed BrawlBox, I must give them a skeleton of a Brawl character of my choice. However, how do I rip a Brawl character's skeleton? Does anyone here knows how? Thanks.
I looked at the OP to see what I was doing wrong with my DAE files in 3ds Max and here's the do's in order to view them in BrawlBox. 2 of them are easy-peezy for me, but there are a few things I can't seem to be able to do, and any help with screenshots/videos would be appreciated:
ABLE TO DO: - Each texture/material has to be assigned to its own object in 3DS Max. - Export Y-Up (or else your model will be face down on the floor in Brawlbox) - You might have to re-assign some polygons to a different material in Brawlbox.
NEEDS HELP - The model must be triangulated. (What does this means?) - Check Animation - Deformations - Skin. (apparently NOT in 3ds max 2010, checked everywhere, unless I'm blind) - Delete all morphs. If you want to use face morphs for an import, make it into a seperate face object. (What's that?) - Don't use Physique to rig your model to a brawl skeleton, use the Skin modifier. (How can I add a Brawl skeleton on 3ds Max!? and how can I export a Brawl skeleton from BrawlBox or something like that?)
Yeah, I created the J.E.N.O.V.A thing while I was bored, and it's more like a 'Cel-Shaded JENOVA'. I remember, when I was really young, my sis and I were watching TV under the protection of my older brother, also my mentor, and he shouted when looking at the window : "Jenova withnesses!!! Hurry, hide, and go to bed until I tell you!" He locked all doors, put blankets over the windows and hid in the basement, where he spied on those 'Jenova withnesses' to see if they were going away. Too much FFVII, big bro?
*Enters in the thread, see Terra from Dissidia and a texture of ZSS as J.E.N.O.V.A brawling* Terra - "Unlike you, I am very powerful, as I possess the blood of an Esper" J.E.N.O.V.A - "But DO YOU have a big chest with eyes on them, the power to destroy an entire civilisation, being famous for your own cells injected in other life forms and having 4 momma's boys (Kadaj, Loz, Yazoo and Sephiroth) who loves you insanely? I THINK NOT!!!" *runs aways while screaming*
Yeah, I made a J.E.N.O.V.A texture with a naked ZSS and borrowed the knife from another texture (can't remember which one)... now THAT battle would be epic!
sounds like u didnt export it correctly so that it can be seen in BB.. lol
Yep, I know, so that's why I need help. If someone could do it for me, then I'll be insanely happy.
For those who wonder, here's what I do to create my DAE files : 1 - I open up the GMO file in Noesis 2 - I choose wherever the character in the GMO (in this case, Terra and Esper Terra) and export it to DAE while flipping UVs. 3 - I open 3ds Max, but it has no textures on... So, by following this tutorial:
(ignore the whole FPK thing) I apply the 2 textures on 3ds Max. 4 - I do a few things seen in the OP (the ones I know how to do) and export it as a brand new DAE file. 5 - I load it in BrawlBox, but I still can't see it, it only works on my mom's PC, as she has Windows 7, not XP.
What did you meant by a BrawlBox on the Wii? Is there really gonna have one? If that's the case, could it preview DAE models successfully even if they're not from Nintendo games?
Also, is the MDL0 thingy is closer to completion? I created a color pack of DAE models that I can't see on my PC in BrawlBox and I was wondering if someone could fix them via 3DS Max. I do have it, but I don't seem the understand much of the instructions in the OP (I have 3ds max 2010, not 2009 so things have changed). Only if someone offers to help then I will post my colorful pack of Dissidia Terras (6 in total) that CANNOT be seen in BrawlBox, but CAN perfectly be seen in 3ds Max. At least that like this on my PC
Btw, I'm having some serious problems with CHR0 entries right now. For now, don't animate anything with v0.64d until I fix it and update the download. If you try animating anything, you'll see what I mean
Yeah, I tried to animate a non-Nintendo DAE in BrawlBox with a PAC file, and the model did nothing XD Boy, I had a good laugh. BTW, what does the BB source does?
