I may be wrong, but I don't believe you can do that. I think it's kind of hard coded into those stages.

it's hard codded in the rel files, same with game and watch. if u import the stage models over another stage it should return characters to 3d

Hey all, first time posting here.

I've been messing with Brawl Hacking for a while, limiting my own texture making due to time, but using the fantastic works of others. I recently got back into it, and I've come across the Stage Expansion.

Everything works fine; I've got about 9 of my own stages on the expanded roster. But I have a couple of questions:

1. Is is possible to use stages designed for something like Distant Planet over the custom slots? I tried using the .rel files provided in a handy download for the Stage Expansion tutorial, yet the only stages I seem to be able to use are designed for use over Final Destination. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

2. Is there any way to fix the resolution problem on the stage selection screen? The big stage select pictures when you hover your cursor over the stages themselves are really blurry, and I'm not sure why.

I believe that's all I don't get at the moment; any help would be appreciated!

1) its completely possible to use stages designed for other stages for it. u need a few things tho, the original rel file for the stage u want on the exp. stage, a hex editor (or stage switcher app), and the stage itself. unfortunately i lost the link i had for the rel offsets to change in the hex file QQ but it's really simple maybe someone can help out and find the link?

2) it's blurry to reduce the file size on the file, u can replace the pics but it's likely to freeze with the added stages

that can be 2 things, an isue with animator i had (needed an older version) or u edited something that was rotated in blender. blender method doesn't have a full model  like u'd expect, it kinda callapses on itself in several parts. the tricky part is finding were those parts r. this is why i moved to 3ds max.

alternatively u could also make the suit transparant in the middle of the plates to kinda give it a see thru appearance untill u can figure out the partial transparancy. i'd make  sure u have  back up of the textures tho Tongue

lol k i feel retarded lol i found out my issue with 2010 x.x it needed to be run in admin mode i forgot i had to change the setting to always run in admin mode on max9 as well. lol ty all for ur help ^^

i believe ur talking about the compression of the file. click the brres file and its on the left part of the program, make sure the .pac file is set to *compression: none*

if u have a back up on ur drive u can use wii scrubber to make changes to the iso itself.  it's kinda time consuming the first time and i'd keep a back up of the original iso  just incase.

problem is the plug in doesn't support 3ds max 2010 i tried. been looking for a updated installer but can't find one.

i normally use 3ds max9 for all my vertex  hacking, etc. but was told to use 2010 for model rigging with the new brawlbox. the problem is i can't import a dae without the program crashing and closing. any idea why it does this? does it need to have the collada plug in installed? (tho i saw it already came with collada max intact) any help would be appreciated :3
