I also sent this to the project's Tumblr account, but i'll say it here again:
I am using Project M and the latest Smash 3 pack available, and when playing on Final Destination (P:M default/Melee) as Charizard with the P:M custom skins, the game freezes instead of loading the result screen.
For reference, I am using a 4GB SDHC card (which has increased the loading times between screens to disc levels), USB Loader GX and a vanilla Project M with loads of BRSTMs.
It only started to freeze after i installed the Smash 3 pack.
Hope someone looks into it.
Hmm, can you be a bit more specific? If Charizard and the P:M alts are freezing, it wouldn't have anything to our stuff, as we have't done anything with those.
It also sounds like the SD card could have corrupted (which is known to happen...) so it may be worth backing up and restoring everything.
Will you guys do PM alt costumes at any point? I want to use these on PM, but I don't want to replace alt costumes, but I don't want a mix of Smash 3 and vBrawl textures either. PS don't know if you're still closing the project, but please don't. Just because sm4sh is out doesn't mean Project M is dead...
Sorry, no plans to do the P:M alts. It's already taken us over a year to get here, so it would take another...maybe half year to do them all? It's not really time I would want to put into making more textures for costumes I'd never use.
We're still planning on closing up after everything is done. I know only a few of the active team members still actually play P:M, and even then it's secondary to Smash 4. It's just that Smash 4 is everything we'd wanted from a Smash game, so I don't really see us going back personally (the only time we go back is to test Smash 3 stuff, we don't actually play.)
But, if you still want to have the Project M alts no matter what, you can check out my texturing tutorial to learn how we did the Smash 3 textures and try to make them yourself, I'm sure the community would be thankful.
Really really minor but that Rocket Mewtwo render looks to have a transparency error where the tail meets the armor plate, you can still see the tail line in that armor plate. Really only noticeable in the full sized render.
Also where is that Rocket Armor sourced from I'm a huge Pokemon fan and even I don't know.
Thanks for letting us know, we've corrected the issue.
It's sourced from Team Rocket, hence the black and red colour scheme. It's also going to be in the next Project M update, so we figured we may as well add it to the main download now.
A recolour update for Mewtwo, we've added a new recolour to fill up all the Armor slots for people that like recolours more. Nothing's changed from before, so you guys don't need to worry about updating anything unless you want Perwinkle-two. And of course, a recolour chart / cascade since Mewtwo didn't have one yet!
Another "release" today. Hopefully this is informative enough for you guys! I've said it before, but I'm not the greatest teacher, so if you guys need anything clarified feel free to PM me.
Another update today. Unfortunately, Fox won't make it back for Smash 3. Kidding! He lives on in Wolf as a palette swap. It'll be added in 3.5 in the P:M green slot, but for now you can download it and use it in any other slot!
And this extra little wallpaper because the coincidence was too great:
While the Ike recolours are fine, the new purple ones seem really boring? They're all just purple+white (plus slight red on Ness' shoes...), I wish you guys would mess around with some other accent colours more. Pink and blue never fail to screw up purple, so there's a quick idea.
And what happened to Falcon's belt buckle and scarf?
Pit has been updated, his eyes now move. Some AA issues on the wings (slight whites on the recolour's wings) have been fixed as well, sorry about an update so soon!
Why was Falcon's run changed, exactly? It looks more generic now... If it was changed for the sake of being "not-Brawl" I'd suggest changing it back, otherwise you lose a bit of character.
Roy's animations look better, but why does he shake? Is he cold? And I really think that the taunt where he thrusts his sword up could just stop there, without the extra bit at the end. It...doesn't really look fitting? I get that it's from the GBA animation, but some animations just don't translate well to a 3D environment. That's why Sakurai freestyles in many cases and just makes stuff up.
To finish today off, we've updated the individual downloads to add the sword trail updates (for Pit, Link, Ike, Marth, Roy).
Speaking of Link, his and Ganondorf's filesizes before were massive, causing some PSAs to crash (most notably Triforce Ganon). We've updated them to take much less space. In addition, Ganondorf's armor shine should look much nicer. It's an optional update, but for people who were experiencing crashes, redownload those two and let us know if it fixes them for you!
This has been bugging me for a while now, but Ike's render is... well, it's great, but his face looks weird... the eyes, especially. It looks... kinda like he has downs syndrome. :|
In fact, I've noticed a trend among the human characters with anime styled faces; the eyes are almost always a tad strange in every render. They're often disproportionately squinty and small.
It's no big deal at all, but I just thought I'd throw that out there. Overall the work on these renders is jaw-dropping, so think of it less as a complaint and more as a friendly nudge, haha.
Humans are really hard to get right. Coincidentally, Ike's was also the last one to use the old method. Huh!
A year ago, we started this foolish project of retexturing all the Brawl characters. Some doubted we'd even finish. It's been a long ride. We've come pretty far, and the finish line is in sight! Thanks for staying with us all this time guys!
To celebrate, here's an update with...Dedede! And 4 others, including that angel boy from that game.
Pit is the new charcter in this bunch, and we're pretty happy with how he turned out! psst, check his shield moves Since the PMBR is adding a few new costumes in 3.5, we've gone ahead and added enough slots to fill everything for all the characters released today. Game & Watch players with cBliss can experience the new colours, while everyone else will have to wait for the PMBR to add more G&W slots. We've also updated the sword trails, which you can see with the new Pit as well as the older characters we've added them to! Pit's also trained his voice for Smash 3, and now sounds like he did in Kid Icarus Uprising. Enjoy!
There's a problem with your Sonic (Smash 3) model... Sometimes during fights his eyes will turn a different color.. On halberd I see black and on other stages his eyes turns red or blue..
