thank you all for the kind words.. and funneh joke there. just to let yuh know, the update to Advent Children cloud is up too. the changes might not be notice-able right away, unless you used the old one often. finally fixed the dam waist cape's normals that bugging me

@Beyond - its not just you. im still a nub with textures, i kept makin it look too bright or too dark (the arms). i ended up leaving it alone. i was gonna PM you if you could but uh.. yeh, i figured you were busy with Tapion. you'll also notice the bottom cape isnt the exact same color as the top part of the cape. i used that one tool in GIMP to copy the pixel's color from one texture to the other except i still couldnt get it to "sync"

@Ninka - that one was for Hero's and marioking64DS's PSA (each has their own) that they are working on, it'll be out with their PSA's. it wont work with Samus without the included motion file. it has extra bones, like the 2nd hand/fingers and mouth bones. i will update him someday over the original Samus bones, not sure when though

wuh?    someone willingly talking about Tales of the Abyss and Luke? yeh, he is the one that needs a update most. he has a cheap vertex edit for his sword and its not even textured. when i update him, ill start with a new model and now i have 3 of his swords from Tales of Vs to use. thats sweet yer giving him a buff though. did you double the texture size?

and about Tales of the Abyss, would you be interested in texturing and UVing Guy or Asch models from the PS2 disc? its possible to get more of the models and costume except they are UVless and Textureless. for Asch you could use his Tales of Vs texture as a base.. or somethin'. lemme know if yer interested

dont worry about it. it was niice seeing someone make use of it. i dont deserve a collab though. i did nothing to help you two out. in fact, i was probably sitting back and watching TV while you two were at work. i figured out what was weird about yer cloud, the back hair doesn't have transparency. still looks great, its not noticeable unless you stare at him

good start. Sol has a niice design. the hair might be da trickiest part to do

@Ninka - i dont think Squall had a high-poly face in the first or 2nd game. if he was on a other character, like Ike, that make different objects appear with bone visibility, i could make the different face textures and spread them out on the different faces. thing is, Link does his expressions differently. the face actually "animates". the vertex sets are positions the vertices move to for a expression.. i think (im kinda guessing there). if there is a way to make the vertex sets read with different textures, it should be ohkay. i havent looked into this sort of thing yet though

Wow, that looks amazing! I can see the difference in his face. I wonder what it would look like with his Dissidia hair....
i think almost the same. Kingdom Hearts Cloud's hair looks based on his original design. the last cloud id make would probably be a mix of models to get his look from Card Sagas Wars

That Cloud looks great! I voted Yuna over Zelda, I love your Tidus import. i just which the metal was fixed.
yeh, he has none. the main thing the Tidus update would do is lower the file size a hefty amount. instead of his textures being spread out all retarded (if you seen his .pac you'll know what i mean) in 6 512x256 and 3 256x256 textures, he would have 2 textures, 1 in each of those dimensions. like this. i fixed up Yuna's like that too, for when the day comes

uh.. yeah. the usual last minute BS is happening with da Clouds and the sky. which was good, in a way. AC cloud ended up with a niice new fusion sword in the process. anyway they both should be out tonight

yeh. after re-doing my cloud (the advent children suit one), i took the faces and such and then edited it onto the low-poly model of cloud from Kingdom Hearts. i was gonna show a screen in the WIP workshop days ago but i guess i forgot

here is one..


took the screen last week. he looks a little different now. both Clouds are pretty much ready for release, i just need to prepare all the .pac files and take some shots. they'll be released separate, Kingdom Hearts Cloud deserves his own vault page


@agent-s: im not sure if i can put extra faces on Squall, since his face is flat. Link uses vertex sets and each set uses the same texture.. i think. not sure what to do about that, i could give him at least moving eyes though. and by "finish" i kinda mean re-do him, since that rig is from last year

just a note.. im not able to keep a "schedule", so the poll means almost nothing

oh       if the original block textures wont work, after editing his UVs, there is probably no point in sending me them. if you sorta do block textures BEFORE adding shading and such, when doing new textures, then yeh, id want those

i was thinkin, since we both seem to like this guy, maybe you wanna do "you know what" with Tapion? where i do this and you do that

do you think you could keep a "block" texture (kinda like he has now) in the download (or PM me them) before you do yer texture edits? i ask cuz i'd want him in my brawl Cel-Shaded

just to let ya know, the faces on my Cloud import weren't "official" ones from Square-Enix (i noticed you used em while checkin out da model in brawlbox). thats why some of them look kinda.. funneh

a question, for the program yer planning, how exactly will the program-use process go? i mean.. will you be able to drag yer files on it and it throws out a .obj file? will it be able to read and throw out textures and stuff as well? or is it a combination of those two except being a 3ds max script?

uh    i worded that weird. no though, i wont be done with importing anytime soon. i couldnt stop even if i wanted to (?)

what i meant by "last plans" was the plan i mentioned last in here, the one about "doing" a girl after finishing Marth

my next import is gonna be a dude i thought would be kool to have in brawl since i started but didnt have a model of him. DemonBoy was able to rip from the game recently and he sent me da model last week. and yea, seeing his model in the download page made me think i should get to work on him next

Fayt is on hold, a friend (mariokart64n), may be able to make a script to get models directly off the disc so i think its better to wait..

i dont feel like working on any "new" imports till he gets done. i dont wanna be doing nothing either though so ill work on updating one of my imports i use often, Cloud. theres a lot that could be improved. he'll have all his issues fixed and will have everything the old one is missing. i'll also work on giving him his Kingdom Hearts costume

you wanna know the sexiest part? his .pac file size is around 950 KB, and that was the PSA version (he has 2 hands and forearm armor and what not). Samus' default .pac is around 1300 KB

im not too sure about my last plans, i feel like i should import a dude now since he was sorta "exposed" here. i wont say who for now but he is uploaded there. i actually got the model from DemonBoy the night i took Marth's request, but focused on Marth. we'll see what happens..

the cloud looks great. i tripped all over my keyboard when i saw Ninka's post if someone else wanted to rig it, you got to it before i did. its in good hands, lookin forward to da release

The arm has like only 15 verts. So it aint perfect...

that isnt a stray very, thats the collar thing on his boot Tongue
3 "vertice rows" should be enough to get a bend good. it mostly matters where the elbow bone is, it should be in the center vertice row

anyway, i know of a way to add vertice rows without messing up the UVs or anything. i could write up a mini-guide for you in a PM, if you want

Hero, i was about you PM you about yer thread getting deleted when i realized it was moved

about not having the Saber, i could import it over the Samus cannon. or we could delete that cannon and i import it with the actual X model, weighted to the R or L HaveN bones. or no saber at all. its up to you  (i'd go with the 1st option, we could use the extra cannon bones to make the saber bend)

i was wondering about that kind of stuff while makin them. if it was possible to make, for example, that cloud kirby hat use the fireball (fira?) or the UP/B from sdo0m's cloud PSA. if it is, i hope sdo0m decides to use it for his cloud update in da future.

anyway, thats kool to hear your gonna use X kirb for yer PSA
