Homebrew is 45% of the reason why Nintendo still has fame. >.>
Tru dat, yo!

Because I hate having an outdated Wii.
Don't go trying to fix what is not broken. You might regret it later on.
Regret what? it doesn't disable Gecko OS, which is all I use Homebrew for.
What I mean is don't do something so needless like updating for the sake of updating, especially with such high risks involved.
Why? You have Brawl, don't you? The Stack Smash Stage Builder exploit should work just fine.
Yeah, I have brawl....via usb.  Awesome Face

Hopefully they release a new hack for 4.2.
I'd hate it to end up like PSP homebrew, where downgrading is pretty much impossible.
There are already two; Indiana Pwns and Stack Smash.
I assume that you need the game discs to do any of those. (In that case, I'll be screwed if I update.)

I wasn't going to update at all. This just reminded me to turn off wiiconect24 because I don't know if that will download it by itself. (Just wanted to be safe.)
I've heard that the 4.1 update doesn't actually contain any code that will let Nintendo update your Wii when you're not looking.

Still, I keep WiiConnect24 off at all times.

Soon as I saw "unauthorized software" in the system message, I knew it was going for my HBC. You can't fool me that easily!
Indeed, brother. As I see it, hacks is what makes the wii actually worth purchasing rather than just playing it at a friend's house. Nintendo should embrace the hackers. Maybe even invite them over for some tasty tea and crumpets.

they r not concerned about the brawl hacking, textures, movesets, stuff like that. They r worried about the plp who pirate games such as brawl or other games.
Understandable, but that'll just make me wanna buy the wii even more. Can't beat free games. (Don't lie, you, too desire free games. Give into the darkside.  Evil )

Oh yeah, Melee in HD doesn't look to bad either. *Winking at Shadow*

In the past. Now many games run fine, though some still are on the fritz. As for brawl on dolphin, only the PAL version has been confirmed to work. (I play it from time to time, and it looks like a whole new game on 720p.)

I know of a way for high quality pics, and even HD gameplay and pics. Google "dolphin emulator." It will let you take pics and even render the whole game in HD quality. (Drawback is that you need a high-end computer. Also, if you use an intel, you'll see alot of weird things such as missing texture. If you use like an nVidia or ati, you'll be fine.)
59  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Texture Hacking... Without ISO on: August 26, 2009, 09:45:29 PM
I mean creating/ modding my own textures I need to know if there is a way to work around the ISO.
You don't need the iso, just the pac and pcs files for the fighters, a program to mod the files, and maybe a way to test the textures you create. (But a iso really would help.)

Yeah, but you need homebrew channel (Google it) and a copy of brawl already. There are tutorials on what must be done to enable textures in brawl. Also, you need an SD card for codes and hacking apps.

Maybe someone will be nice enough to link a tutorial here right before this thread gets locked.

But if you mean "creating/ modding your own textures" then it would help if you did have an iso so you can rip the texture files from it for modding and stuff.
