Alrighty, I got my DAE's to import into 3DS Max 10 (Finally) Only thing left to figure out is applying the materials to the figure and bingo =3 time to import into brawl
BJ: should I even bother assigning the materials in 3DS Max if I'm just going to import the .DAE into brawl and have it's texture character style?
BJ: I have a problem :l I can import the DAE's from BB just fine(Textureless, but just fine) but when I try to import something into 3DS Max 10 I get this error.
"COM error: CoCreateInstance0 Failed Please check your registry keys *insert registry keys here* and make sure you are logged in as an administrator"
Which causes the program to crash, do you have any idea what might be causing it?
Okay whoever posted the pic of the 'blocky' gandrayta(Not sure if that's spelled right) model in Max 10
I found something! Well, I think I did, here's the thing I descovered....
Go to all the polygons and select the modifiers tab, then delete the 'morphers' and the polys will be smooth again just like they were in Max 8 =3 You have to delete every last one though.
Anyone got a decent tutorial on applying materials in max 10?
Justin: Let me know when you finish up rigging whatever you're doing now I'll send you a Con 3 Revolution BRESS for Kisame (over you guessed it, Ike)
So it turns out that Max ( 8 at least) was working fine, anyone got a clean AIS that I can use? The one from the download in that one tutorial thread is busted. Either that or Justin can send me a tutorial on how to 'fix' the daes :l (lol poor justin having to do all these tuts XP )
BJ: so the DAE exporter is NOT working in brawlbox? I assumed that was the case since it makes 1kb files from anything that's not from brawl.
Oh, kay XP BTW until I actually get my error problem solved would you mind converting the .DAE's into .max (preferibly 8 ) for me if I sent you the files? No rigging needed, just conversion of the files. I want to see if it's not just something with my computer like it usually is XP
My issue is actually GETTING the file into 3DS Max in the first place. I'm going to try models from another game, if that doesn't work, then it's definately not the game I'm getting the models from. Because brawl models do import fine, even trophies....
Maybe we need an AIS that is designed spasifically for other games besides SSBB?
So I was rigging a model, and I export it as a .DAE to test and exit out of 3DS Max 8. Now the next time I open it and anytime after if I start trying to do something it says
CoCreateInstance() failed Please check your refistry entries CLSID {F088EA74-2E87-11D3-B1F3-00C0F03C37D3} and make sure you are logged in as an administrator
Any help? This also happened after I downloaded a student version of 3DS max 2010 if it helps any
I can't seem to get my dae's to import properly. If I sent you the files could you just convert them to a .max scene and send em back?
Pretty please *puppy dog eyes*
You don't need to rig them or anything, just convert them to a .max scene ^+^; I want to see if it's just something on my computer that's causing my problems :l
