I hate having to be a pain in the butt and keep telling you to desaturate because you're not doing it enough, but you need to desaturate the golden/yellow parts. It looks more like mustard than a true metallic gold. The boots also look really pale compared to the tunic, give it some more vibrancy to match it. And you may as well revert the sword textures back to the way they were. Same with the belt buckle, I don't like the silver in them, it clashes with everything else. Mars is all about warm colors, and silver is not warm.
I know I sound really picky and annoying, but I feel like I'm holding your hand while you do it.
Y'all need yellow and white. Project Mustard and Project Marshmallow.
:3
We're only focusing on team colors. If you want a Project Mustard or Marshmallow, you can do them yourself, but they won't be absorbed into our project.
Go into the lighting environment settings and make all the light values 255, so that it looks more like how it'll look in-game, some parts are too dark because of the way BrawlBox lighting works. Anyway, when I said the gold and brown needs to be brighter, I mean much brighter than that. Increase it using the Level tool. And the red on the shoes, move the hue to the left about 3 or 4 notches. It seems a bit too orange compared to the rest of his tunic.
Mars Mewtwo needs his skin to be more saturated. Kind of like Shun's Ruby Vibrant Mewtwo, but not as extreme.
And I think the tail could be a bit less desaturated to more resemble a mix of brown and black, and then brightened a tad.
It's getting there. And when I said a heavily desaturated brown, I meant to almost the point where it's completely black or devoid of color. Cause right now he pretty much looks like a carbon copy of Marth, minus the sword and cape, which I think could be the same color as his armor or a lighter shade.
And yeah, leave the sword as is. The farthest I'd go to change it is just the color of the jewel, not the hilt or blade itself.
The main issue is just general color inconsistency. Take my Marth for example. His tunic, tunic sleeves and boots are all the same shade of red. The armor and boots are the same shade of brown. I had the intention of making his gloves the same shade of brown as well, but I don't know what happened, and I never got around to fixing it.
I think a heavily desaturated dark brown would work well for the pants and his armor. If you need a better idea of what it looks like, it's the same color used on Captain Falcon's helmet. And then there's the boots, which I think need to be totally reworked from scratch.
Just so you know Rage83, you need more than just one opinion other than your own before you upload. Not to mention you didn't even at least credit the people who worked on the original model. I admit that I didn't give any input at all when I probably should have, but I sometimes forget that this thread even exists.
On the topic of the texture itself though, I honestly do not like how it looks at all. The shades of red are all inconsistent, and the boots look awfully sloppy like you just changed the hue to red and heavily saturated it, then darkened it a bit. The pants the way they are right now look really weird, I would either darken them to an almost black-brown, or a slight brown/off-white/cream. Golden trim on the armor and headband also fits more appropriately than silver. And adding me as a collab was extremely unnecessary...
Shun_One was going to do a Mars Roy eventually. This one is alright, but there's too many different shades of red on your Roy. If it was more consistent then it'd be better. The red itself though should be the color of rust, a red-orange, not crimson. I also think some tan, off-white, or brown would look better on the pants and gloves.
And yes eventually Minty (as well as any individual Maritime or Mars textures that we feel need to be redone) will be redone because it went in a direction that was radically different than we wanted. Once it gets done, we'll release a compilation package and get the missing portraits done.
And I figured I'd post the most anticipated palette swap as an extra.
Her black outfit will be the Phazon Suit from Metroid Prime!
And we have also have a challenger approaching!
It's Zero Suit Samus!
She's still being worked on. I'm improving the quality of the textures and fixing any errors and mistakes with the transparency in her hair. I've also changed the blue color of her Zero Suit so that it more closely resembles her appearance in Zero Mission for the GBA, rather than how she appears in Brawl and Metroid Prime 3.
that would be awsome if you do smash 3 alt. costume of project m... we all counting of your team because its a awsome project!!
Our primary goal is to finish all Brawl characters first, as well as Mewtwo and Roy. Eventually we'll get around to doing Project M's alternate costumes, as well as any other neat ideas we might have floating around.
