1  Help & Tutorials / Help / Could any of these codes cause random game freezes while using Pokemon? on: December 18, 2009, 08:54:45 PM
what's been happening recently is that my game randomly freezes in the middle of a match. and every time it happens, a pokemon is being used on the screen. the first time it's ever happened was Squirtle, chosen as an independent pokemon. and the rest of the times happened when i was facing against a CPU using "Random," and Charizard happens to be selected everytime it freezes. Although it doesnt always freeze when the pokemon are used, but it's happened quite a few times now.

So i'm wondering if any of these codes could be the cause of it?:

Or could it be caused by using CSP's? (Although i'm pretty sure CSP's would make the game crash in the middle of a match)

any help would be great. the only thing is that I cant really "test" it by removing the codes, because it's just a really random thing that it happens.

I'm currently using the Brawl+ codeset (4.1), and it sometimes freezes in the results screen. The background music still plays, so it doesnt make the loud beep sound. But you cant do anything until you reset the wii. I'm pretty sure this isnt caused by PSA's/CSP's/Textures because I chose two characters that didnt have any of those, used 1 stock, and continously jumped to die, just to test my theory. So could there be something else that's causing this problem? Or is it supposed to be like this. (If there's a solution like removing the results screen, i'll gladly give it a try)

Ok so yesterday, I saw this code that I thought would allow me to play multiple Menu songs without having to exit the game. But after I used it, when I took a look at the songs I had in the Menu's songs, there were two copies of the same song. So I took out the SD Card and loaded the game normally, but it was still there. They both played the same song as well, the I cant seem to play the default Brawl Menu song anymore. It plays the Intro song instead. And even when I loaded up brawl normally, when I tried to edit how often a song appears for Battlefield, the second I clicked on it, the game froze and made a loud beeping noise.

Is there any way to fix this? Or will I need to start over. (I've never figured out how to backup/use copy-protected save files before)

Ok so what i'm wondering is if there's a way to have Brawl play more than 1 song in the character selection screen like in stages. To make it more clear, is there a way to make it so that after playing a round in brawl, and you return to the character selection screen, it would have a chance of playing another Menu song than the one played before the round started. Mainly because it's very difficult to find a single song that you'll have to stick with until you exit Brawl for another song... (still havent found one good enough to replace the original one, but that's just me)

I'm trying to figure out how to combine two effect files together because I'd like to play with them on my wii, but I cant seem to figure it out. I have absolutely no knowledge on hacking. But I was just wondering if it's possible and how I could do it.

One of the effects would be the Fire/Thunder Cycle Link found at the bottom of the first post on this page:

And the other one is just a simple green glow on Link's sword.

I absolutely love these two effects, but I cant seem to find a way to use both of them at the same time.
