Meh - I would think it's more about the concept than about being 100% literal. That's one of the things they try to teach at the art college I go to. Project Mango is fine, as long as most people associate the color orange with mangoes. And Project Mandarin would be fine as well, no need to have the full Mandarin Orange name.
Also, here's Mango/Mandarin/Whatever-We're-Now-Calling-This Lucas! Mango Roy is also done, I just have to put everything together for him. Shouldn't take long, half an hour tops.
Project Matrix sounds pretty awesome, actually, but the wire frame thing seems a bit impractical. Maybe they could just have a black and green theme with matrix 0 and 1 patterns on them somewhere. And... no one ever said it had to be limited to the number of cBliss costumes, after all. Project Matrix could easily be an alternative to Project Minty, if the person likes black and green rather than mint green.
On topic: Don't have time tonight, but I'll do Lucas tomorrow, since he practically is the same as Ness, then I'll do Thany's Roy. (With a flame-decorated sword, maybe )
Melty? Majestic? Majora? Mayonnaise? Macabre? Miranda? Mischievious? Missile? Mountain? There's like... A lot of possibilities... But my poor english doesn't really help me...
Yeah, there's plenty of M words to use... the real challenge is coming up with a decent, unique color scheme to go with it. I suppose Mayonnaise could work with a creamy, white color scheme.
Also, I wouldn't worry about your English. You've got better spelling and grammar than a lot of native speakers.. I didn't know you weren't a native speaker until you mentioned it. There was, like, one extra i in mischievous, and everything else was perfect.
EDIT: Project Mithril sounds pretty awesome, but Mithril is silver, right? It would be pretty much the same as Project Moon, though I definitely like the sound of Mythril better.
Project Maelstrom, I'm kind of seeing as having like a red, yellow, black, and blue color scheme. Mostly black, with the other three being like highlights.
Yeah, Magenta could give them all pink/Valentine's Day costumes. I remember a 'Cupid' texture for Pit that was made by Syntax Error way back when. It could be things like that.
If Project Malicious ever becomes a thing, I would love my Giygas Ness to be a part of it. I made it originally for the cBliss Recolors thread, but it would work so well!
Edit: Wait, would those three being added really fill up cBliss? We'd need one more, methinks.
Let's see, there's...
1. Standard M 2. Mars 3. Minty 4. Maritime 5. Mirage 6. Mango 7. Magenta 8. Malicious 9. Moon 10. ???
Okay, the two newer ones are in the same download as the original ones now. I might do Lucas later on if I feel like it, but maybe not, so if someone else wants him before I get around to him, feel free.
EDIT: Got it! Project Malicious, for evil costumes for every character. That would be fun.
I like the Ness on the right better, but if you gave him the one on the left's shirt, you could successfully have both versions merged into one.
Hmm, good point, I hadn't played around with mixing them 'cause I didn't want to use too many different colors, but I've photoshopped the images to see what it would look like. They're not bad- I think I'll make the one on the left, and the one on the right if enough people like it.
I think this is a great idea - I love Smash, but some characters have other characters' moves and others are completely made up in some cases... here's hoping I'll get to see Ness and Lucas actually use their signature attacks instead of Paula, Poo, and Kumatora's! Seriously, the only special attacks that are actually theirs in Brawl are PK Flash and I think PSI Magnet might be one...
Is the filesize limit for sc_selcharacter.pac 2,79 or 3,79? Because the OP says 3,79 and the selcaracter.pac you download with cBliss is 2,79!
3.79, the cBliss file is incredibly small when you first get it since most of the portraits are basically blank.
Interesting note to anyone using Dark Flaming Blue CSS with cBliss: after I replaced all my portraits and the background in the cBliss sc_selchar, the file was a bit over the limit and I was looking for ways to reduce it when I found that reducing the colors of the background image to 16 in BrawlBox really brings the file size down, and I didn't even notice a difference in quality since it's all blue and black anyway... Pretty useful if your file is just barely over the limit.
15? How is that even possible? I thought there was an issue with the numbering, since Mario starts at 001 and DK at 011, etc. Would you just expand it to go past Sonic's 470 or something? Give Mario 471-475, DK 476-480? It seems like that would be a lot of trouble, but other than changing which number each character past Mario starts on (DK on 016), I don't see another way to do it...
Having said that, if you can get it working, it would be AWESOME. Even if some, like Squirtle, don't have enough unique imports to fill it, they eventually will, and in the meantime they can be filled with generic textures and, hey, that's 5 extra Ikes, Clouds, Marths, Roys, and Links.
The black icons didn't come with the pack and the weird thing is if you look at the 1st pic, some of those icons are mis-assigned. For example, when I pick the Yoshi Story Icon, I end up in the Yoshi Island Stage, the 64 DK stage takes me to Jungle Japes, the black one after that takes me to Onett, Sector Z takes me to Corneria, pretty much all of those 64 icons take me to Melee Stages, the 1st black icon on the 2nd pic takes me to Big Blue and then all of the stages at the bottom starting after Final Destination 64 freeze the game. As far as what you said about sc_selmap, I figured that out in the process, I tried deleting sc_selmap entirely and using the one in the common5, they both did the same thing :/
But... there is something interesting, when I use the RSBE01.gct file that came with the Melee/64 Expansion pack (the gct that does not have any other codes in it) I get this:
But when I combine the cBliss and Melee/64 codes using ocarina and convert it back to a gct file, that's when I get those images with the black icons. I think the reason is because the code I use for Melee/64 Expansion is not the same as the one that's in the RSBE01.gct that the rar comes with (I found the text version online somewhere), but I don't have a way of comparing them because I don't know how to convert the original gct to a proper txt file so that I can use that.
So the code you're using doesn't come from the expansion pack? I assume when you say you found the text version online, you're referring to the Stage Expansion / Eternal Yoshi's Maxed Out SSS?
In any case, I agree that it's something in the code that's causing the blank spots. The only way I know to convert a GCT into text is using GCT Edit. It doesn't always label exactly which code is which, but if you just use it to copy all of the code from the Melee/64 Expansion, you can put it into a txt file with cBliss code and make that into a GCT.
I believe the same thing happened to me when I tried to combine that with my maxed out CSS(49 icons including all the gimmick characters possible like Alloys and separate Popo and Nana). Never found a solution other than just having to set everything up in the SSS by myself rather than using a pack.

In all honesty, that's probably the best way to go about it. Sure, the setup is tedious, but you know exactly how it's set up. When I added cBliss, I just copied my stages, codes and sc_selmap exactly as they were. I've had a couple of kinks to work out with cBliss, but none of them involved Stage Expansion.
