1  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: [OUT NOW!!] Project M D.I.Y. (A Project M + BrawlEx Template) on: October 07, 2014, 12:55:00 PM
I'm confused. You didn't say what's different at all... like what have you changed? How many characters? Plus, there ARE some that work well at the moment, like mine Wink . I added 14 characters and removed the CSS flicker that makes the CSS look glitchy. Here's the link:

http://forums.kc-mm.com/index.php?topic=69628.0

I'm on the verge of perfecting mine... once I'm done giving 10 costumes to every character in the game that is.
2  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Project M+ on: October 07, 2014, 12:45:27 PM
ugg how come i cant add sfx? are you using different numbers for the sawnds or something? oh i bet you didnt configure it in the codes to allow the clones....im basically trying to take my operation project m takeover on to project m+ lol (hacks that i want in there just because.....)i figured another 2 slots would make for some room for more hacks Wink....my report on this hack would be good for playing as is.....less for customization.....but all in all good job Wink

I'm pretty sure you'd have to re-code the PSAs to use the boss sfx for the clones. Also, if your about customization, you should try out my pack. I've added 12 characters to P:M- 14 including Mewtwo and Roy. That's the farthest I think we can go right now. If you wanna play around with that here's the link:

To replace characters, all u need to do is replace the BrawlEX files and modules. Then, replace the cosmetics like CSPs etc.
3  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Project Concepts / Re: Project Super Smash 4: The Ultimate SSB4 Hack - Updated 9/23/2014! on: September 23, 2014, 03:37:15 PM
I support any adding to Project M. Once u guys have made some clones, u can use my project to add them in. I already added 14 characters to P:M so all u would need to do is switch around the modules and BrawlEx files to match the base character. I could even do that for u and my build isn't as buggy as Project M+. Sooo yeah. Once ur willing to work on P:M PSAs, pm me.

Update for anyone that's actually following this: My computer is garbage. A lil dust ball ruined my i7 Sad . I backed up all my stuff though so no worries in that regard. I sent my comp in for diagnose . I'm either gonna get it back repaired or get a new one on warrant. We're gonna have to wait a couple days for that. Once I get it though, I'm gonna be putting the finishing touches up on costumes so we can pick whateeeeeeever costumes we want and not have to worry about freezes. Yay.
After I finish this, though, there's a couple different options for what I could be doing next:

1. Add P:M physics and dash-dancing to the clone characters. I'm closest to prioritizing this cuz I feel like the clone characters have to be at least somewhat freed from their Brawl engine chains before u can really appreciate them. Deadpool, for example, I would main. But, he's so floaty and slow I can't accomplish anything without being treated like a beach ball by other players.

2. Create a costume committee. I can make polls or maybe new threads with polls to discuss on how we go about the costumes. 10 costumes gives each character a lot of different creative choices for people to have fun with. I'll put on display the CSP's for all possible costumes to add (u can make requests) and then together we can decide the best costume roster to make anyone wanna play any character. We can decide to get rid of all the Dr. Mario costumes but 1 and then add in new ones like Metal Mario, Shadow Mario, NES Mario. We choose the levels of acceptability, so the 10 costumes do the character the most justice. We could do 5 recolors and 5 franchise references. Or 1 original, 1 red, 1 blue, 1 green and the other 6 as franchise references. Or even 6 recolors and 4 franchise references. I personally like 5x5 but we'll decide on this together once I've started it and everyone that's interested had voted on this.

3. Replace Wisp and Raptor with Geno and someone else. I was thinking Yoda. I had a nice idea, though. I don't know how to PSA with BrawlBox so that's why I've steered clear of making my own characters for this. HOWEVER, a Steve PSA would probably be super easy. Since his animations are allowed to be about as rigid as Mr. Game&Watch's, the animating and character development would probs be much easier. If anyone's down to do a PSA for P:M that would be easier than the usual ones, help me out here! I think it's a great idea bcuz he SHOULD be easy to make and he's also a quite iconic video game character. It would definitely add a rush to the P:M experience. Also, I should mention that I don't entirely view Mariodk's Geno as P:M worthy. But, that's up for u guys to decide, really. It IS supposed to be balanced so if it is and I can work with it, I'll probs add Geno.

Yeah, and that's about all I'm really thinking about doing to move forward concurrently. Which one of these should I do once costumes are perfected?

Nah.
I feel I have offended you enough.
I apologize.
However...
Check SupaSawniks Pack.
His Shadow is a clone.
Yet has it's own voice.

Might be something to check out/.
My reason for not doing so, is because it only works on the 2GB card, not the 4GB one.

No offense taken. I'll definitely check out the pack though.

I'm trying it, meow.
Let's hope it's better than Project M, where it doesn't have the lag before attacks.
Looks pretty interesting. I also have a bunch of my own PSA's I could put in, too. And costumes.

If not, I could always put in codes to take it out....

Yeah, Same issue Project M had.

Wisp Freezes.
Vegeta sounds like Wolf.
Shadow like Sonic.
Raptor like Wolf.

Then again, it IS a Beta.

I'd suggest you take out Wisp.
It's always had a freezing problem, with me.
Even when I used it with my BrawlDX.

I don't really attribute sf to be an issue. I'm focused on making an awesome party game. If ppl really are turned off by something like that, I could always mute the clones until we've coded sf for them.

As for Wisp, idk why he freezes for u but yeah I plan on getting rid of him anyway. Finding unique PSAs that are balanced is the only issue. I have some in mind but feel free to throw more ideas in.
7  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Project Concepts / Re: Project ReMiX (Alpha Download now Included) on: September 16, 2014, 11:20:25 PM
Add Aang from last airbender and crash banditcoot. I'd have a blast playing those two.

Post Merge: September 16, 2014, 05:56:15 PM
Is it intentional for shadow to have sonic sfx's instead of shadows sfx's?

There aren't many clones with unique sf yet. Clones outside of Project M, anyway. Clone sound effects are linked to the original characters they were designed from. People have made sf for characters like Shadow, but someone needs to take the time to re-code Shadow's sf over a boss character- like tabuu, rayquaza, etc. Otherwise, Sonic and Shadow share the same sf- either they both sound like Sonic or they both sound like Shadow.

There's also another technique where someone can divide Sonic's sound bank in half and attribute half of his sounds to Sonic and half to Shadow.

Regardless, it IS possible, but I'm not focused on that right now. I want the game to play like a charm- no freezes- first. Once I've done that, I'll try to get support from other hackers too, assuming it gets popular like I hope it to, and then we can work out the cosmetics to make the game seem like Project M dlc. Right now, I'm almost done working out the costumes so that NONE freeze. After that, perfecting the clone movesets. Last, cosmetics like battle portraits, sf, etc.

Nother update: I re-uploaded the project to Mega. Also, I added a new HD picture to the OP so everyone can basque in its glory. I'm also currently working with someone on perfecting the costumes so epect version 1.2 (with less freezing costumes) in the future!!!
9  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Project Concepts / Re: Project ReMiX (Alpha Download now Included) on: September 05, 2014, 09:04:23 PM
Well, no. The fact that I've used BrawlEx to give every character 10 costumes makes that guide less than useful. The order of texture files will be naturally in line with the order of portrait files on completion- this is already the case for a good number of characters. I just need to mark down the current mistakes that make this untrue in this beta. But, because this will be naturally different, I need all the costumes to be tested and recorded manually. I could do it myself but it'll take time.

Update: completely forgot to add version 1.1 to op. Now its there.

Quick Update: My sd card got corrupted last week so I haven't done much. Now that I have a new one though, I've been making editing PSAs for P:M. However, I don't know how to edit PSAs with BrawlBo. If someone could PM me that that would be nice. I've been using PSA but I need to learn BrawlBo for editing now.

Also, if someone could make a list of costume data, that would be a HUGE help. I don't have time to use my wii for a good amount of time these days so this would be awesome. Just a list of all the costume mishaps. Freezes and loading the wrong costumes. With a list, fiing the mistakes will be lots easier on me.

I made an Alpha v1.1 for BrawlVault! I've started working on PSA to modify the new characters to a Project M standard- so if someone can handle the cosmetic aspect for me OR if the forums could make a list of which costumes soft-freeze when stage-loading, I can get on with making the new characters better!

I replaced Grey Fo with Knuckles in this build. Knuckles' side smash might be op but his other attributes make him seem like a great character to add.

Oh and for all you guys downloading I just remembered that I didn't change Blaziken back to P:M Captain Falcon. My friend sucks at Smash so much so he kinda forced me to replace Captain Falcon with Blaziken so he can have more fun lol. I forgot to get rid of that, but I'm sure any of you guys can handle that as well. (Its not the cosmetics just the fighter files).

Anyway, if you're a new viewer of the thread and interested in this project, speak up! Still got no partners Sad

I'll be updating when I can.

Hard to say, but I'm up to 58 characters all with cBliss and still have room for more.

Hmmm well that is a lot still. Thanks for all the help. I'm not gonna bother u anymore lol. Your thread can now die in peace.
14  Help & Tutorials / Programming Tutorials / Re: How to achieve the cBliss effect in BrawlEx on: August 04, 2014, 05:26:44 PM
I resized my CSPs from the usual 128 x 160 down to 100 x 125. They show up the same size in-game no matter what and there's not too much in quality, and it helps to free up room for more.

Now that's an interesting idea. I didn't wanna do that to, like you said, preserve quality. I'll try that. How much space do you think you freed up?
15  Help & Tutorials / Programming Tutorials / Re: How to achieve the cBliss effect in BrawlEx on: August 04, 2014, 05:21:02 PM
Hmm, not sure. I haven't run into any problems with team battles, and I've got more characters with more costumes than that. If it's some kind of graphical glitch, it may just be a problem with sc_selcharacter.

P:M, you say? Are you using Project Ex? That may have something to do with it as well. I've only used BrawlEx with vanilla Brawl. I've been planning to switch to Project Ex but I haven't done so yet.

I started working on this when the first dev beta for Project M Unbound came out. I started intensely moddinf the sd files they started with to make my own project, the Project ReMiX.

That being said, you do raise a valid point. The coding to make P:M compatable with BrawlE might have been causing a malfunction like this back when it was first released. I'm gonna try to update to their latest version whilst replacing the sc_selcharacter.pac and BrawlE folder. See if that works...

Also, how did you manage more characters and costumes? I've done LOTS of compression to allow for everything I have now and it was just enough for 3.78 mb.
