46  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Brawl hacking awards on: April 23, 2012, 08:22:00 PM
it should be done more often and more promoted. I didnt even know.
More often? Nah.
I think annually is the best way to go.
Doing it every few months would take away credibility from the "award ceremony".
After all, uncommon things or that happen less often tend to be better valued.

Like Vamayro said, hackers that have been around longer and know more people are more likely to win (not necessarily a bad thing), but it could turn into a popularity contest.
The 2 previous ones have already been popularity contests.
People tend to vote just for the hackers they know or like, instead of taking it more objectively... but that's to be expected.
47  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: Ninka's Imports- Back to work on Raziel- Ingame previews on: April 19, 2012, 11:44:29 PM
I think Raziel would be better without FS eyes.
But if you give him FS eyes, it would be more fitting to have bluish or greenish shining eyes since that's how he's always been depicted.

As for the weapons you mentioned, it would be cool if he had a version of the soul reaver.

Or Raziel's typical wraith blade.

Then, if this means it's got green light, I'll just go ahead and incorporate it.

I have a concern and suggestion for off-topic.

There are topics, like certain videogame franchises, that are really popular and have threads dedicated to them. However, sometimes the threads stay dead for some time due to the lack of relevant news going on.
But when something relevant surges, only the original author of the thread is allowed to revive the thread according to the rules.

There's where the problem rises, the other users who want to post there refrain from doing so because it's against the rules to necropost, and end up making new threads for the same things that could or should just go in an already existent thread.
This also happens if they don't see the thread within the first 2 pages.
So instead of reviving the Zelda main thread, people make 3 or more new Zelda threads.

I was considering to just make sticky the most popular threads in off-topic, to fix the necroposting inconvenience, but if I did, it would fill the majority of the first page.

So I want to suggest an "official thread" system.
It would just mean that threads dedicated to either popular themes or big topics of discussion, like the next smash, would have "Official Thread" added to the name of the thread, and would mean any user can revive the discussion at any given time, but also including the obligation of posting all related content there instead of making new small threads.

Oh... I just noticed that because of how the word censor works, any posts made and/or edited during the day kept the cat puns even after the censor was removed.

I just had to edit a huge post to fix all those stupid puns and broken links/images.
Thanks a [censored]ing lot.

Well, which ones don't look that good?

Also, I just did some Google searches to find those. I'm pretty sure there are better icons out there, I just took the first ones I found that fitted the size.

The 3 for admin, global mod, and team member.
Simply because from a distance you can't even tell the difference, the 3 of them just look like a white cat from afar.

The black cat for local mods has a different style from all the others, looks like a low quality picture and the cat silhouette would make more sense for team members.

I'm personally not fond of the "green star" cat, but it works fine. It's clear and differentiates clearly from the others.
52  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: April Fools Day 2012 - Kitten Day on: April 03, 2012, 11:31:03 PM
I say the cats instead of stars are fine and make sense in a site like this.
Although some of them don't look that good... and I think it would be convenient to have the admin, global mod and team member cats be more differentiable from each other.

About the other things during the day...
The default avatar was ok I guess, only noticed it when an user changed his avatar.
The cat puns censor was amusing for a few posts, but grew stale pretty fast. Not to mention that it was annoying getting broken links and images.
Nepeta at the bottom was just meh imo.

Kick his ass and change it back >w>
No thanks, we're fine without a random homestuck character at the bottom.
53  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Moderation [Appurrciations, suggestions, repurrts] on: April 01, 2012, 10:21:09 AM
There's a sub-forum called "Moderation Corner" at the bottom of the forum index for these type of questions and concerns.

And since I've warned you before, let me answer in the simplest way possible.
The forums have rules, you've infringed them and that's why you've been warned several times.
There isn't a special bias against you.

Easier and faster to check.
And it was updated quite recently.

Congrats to Albafika, probably one of the best choices out there.

Anyways, seems like for some reason I forgot to reply about the signature thing.
It would be appreciated if you brought it up again Miacis, even if the staff isn't that interested in it.

Well, signatures don't seem to bother other team members just as much as they do to me ... last time I asked for some clarification on size issue, I got a good lack of answers and a disappointing poll.

I bet that's because most staff members aren't even that active, so it wouldn't even concern them or worry the size of sigs.

Personnally, I'd say no.

I think they should, because I share these opinions:

They should. Not under the actual measures, but some specific ones, as I used to have problems before with the loading of the page and it behaving slowly due to the massive load of images.

yeah, even when tagged as a spoiler, it still loads the file anyways, adding to a person's load of bandwidth.

As I mentioned before, there was a guy with 1 visible randomized signature and 10 signatures of 690x250 px inside a spoiler.

I personally think it should be reduced. 250 is pretty stupid.

I totally agree, I mean, look at my current sig, it's 240 px tall... it's too damn big.
Most of the time the signature occupies more space than the contents of the post.
56  Welcome / Rules / Feedback / Brawl Vault / Re: Moderation [Appreciations, suggestions, reports] on: January 28, 2012, 11:41:31 AM
These past months I've been lecturing a lot of people about signatures, from people literally using desktop wallpapers to someone having 10 images of 680 x 250 pixels.

So, I want to clarify and ask some things.

Do images inside spoilers count in the restrictions?
e.g. The users who have a signature, and 3 or more images inside a spoiler. Would that be considered breaking the rules?

Could you consider reducing the maximum size for signatures?
Imo, 250 px is too tall, and most people just go ahead and make signatures with the biggest size possible.
It's specially annoying when there's people that have a signature, a "persona bar", a brawl vault sig and lots of text... resulting in scrolling bars.

Are rule-breaking-signatures something worth to warn a user for?
I haven't seen or heard about anyone getting warned for it... so I'm just curious if it would be valid to hand a warning for it... I mean, signatures are part of the rules after all.

It was a combination of nude pic, guro and a weird fetish.
I don't know, but I think it was kinda funny how he started posting that everywhere. Probably wanted to go down with a boom.

Yeah, and while we're at it, let's give an Award to the first person to make Cloud.
I was the first (and possibly only one) to make Bayonetta.
I want my exclusive award too. Awesome Face

On the second day of Hog-mas,
My true love uploaded to the vault,

And a lazy smash ball texture of Shadow the Pinhog.
