76  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Music & SFX / Re: Reaver Industry [SFX Hack Emporium] Rising like a Phoenix SOBs on: March 21, 2013, 12:51:27 AM
This update comes with good news and bad news.

Good news: I somewhat got over my depression that I never told anyone here and was able to get at least two of the requests done.  It is "AndIQuote"'s request for PM Roy over Diddy Kong and "chaos_knight9000"'s Marth for Brawl- over Diddy Kong.

Bad news: There are a few glitches I can't find a way around them.  One of which freezes when ever it goes to the result screen either winning, loosing or no contest, on any custom stage, and Diddy kong's barrel will never disappear.

I'm not going to completely get rid of the file since I don't want to make the same mistake with this like what happened to my Roy over Ike thing.  But I can't seem to figure this one out.  Marth was at the half way point (PSA & SFX wise), until I decided to try him out, and he suffered from the same thing.

I will work on Marth more but I really don't see anything good to come out of this, but I will leave PM Roy over Diddy Kong in hopes someone might be able to fix what I cannot.  I only apply SFX IDs to PSA .pac files, I have no idea to do major PSA editing.

PM ROy over Diddy kong

This includes the edited .pac file and .sawnds file

In other news, I was always afraid of those areas in the sound banks that had no sound clip whatsoever, thinking that I wasn't able to replace them.  But it turns out that my mind was blown when I was able to do just that.  Most of Roy's voices in game where the empty spots in the brsar.  So I could add a little more than usual in a characters sound bank.

I'm also going to finish up on these port request the best way I can, then I won't do any more of them, tbh these projects for making sfx of one character that is ported over everyone is really bumming me out and brings a lack of motivation to the desk.

What I will do is walk people through their projects in renaming SFX IDs and stuff so that they will be able to learn how to do it them selves, but that'll be most likely it.

Recent request will be completed to a point, but rules will be changing on multiple character ports.

Whoops, my mistake.  It will be saved for Captain Falcon.  It's a good thing I went to sleep or I really needed too.

Whelp, I guess I'll just save what I got and move it towards Falco.  It shouldn't be too hard....

So he's not over Peach any more?!

Okay most sounds are inserted in and that's just dealing with the Jigglypuff replacement, the Diddy kong replacements are at the same level where I have to use one foot step from either the walk sfx or the run sfx, so you'll be hearing the same footstep while walking and running.

I'm trying to avoid messing with the final smash voices since I don't want to make the mistake of having the character echo during regular attacks like Sanji's 4kids voice (the JPN vocie and Funimation voice wont have this problem in the future).

Once after the Marth and Roys are done, I'll try and piece together the Crono voice mod, then try and complete the Sanji JPN voice mod and release them all together.

Okay, I have to give an update that is way needed.  Job searching is still sucking, and I also ended up finishing a joint collaboration with AndIQuote with the Chrono Trigger: Crono sfx for the Crono PSA.  Since that was something that was technically way before the new requests, that may be released first, the PSA friendly version.  I still need to work on rearranging the IDs in the Crono PSA for it all to work properly.

Then there are two Roy's and a Marth that needs to be dealt with.  Two of them are both going over Diddy Kong while one Roy is going over Jigglypuff.  All voices and sfx has been extracted and I am working through the files to see if all of the files can be placed in the characters without having to leave out any of them.

So far I have cut out about a total of 7 files for Diddy Kong and about 5 for Jigglypuff, both are for Roy and Marth would probably be the same number since he will be over Diddy Kong as well.

I've been juggling around other projects trying to get some satisfactory results, all in all; it was so-so.  I finally ripped a model I wanted out of Tales of Graces, and was hoping to fuse it with other character pieces but didn't succeed in doing so, so I will just upload it and make a topic in request for anyone to take it and do something with it.

I will start up again Sunday (today-noonish), hopefully get some good progress going again.
82  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / General Hacking Discussion / Re: Project: SatAM Sonic on: January 19, 2013, 03:40:50 PM
This project looks to be progressing really well, I just had some questions about the model.  The top fin seems a little to high up, making it look too stiff, and I also wanted to know what was the bolt like things that are poking out of Sonic's shoes.

Other than those two things, the model looks excellent man. Smiley
83  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Music & SFX / Re: Reaver Industry [SFX Hack Emporium] My mind on a break in Harvest Moon 3D on: November 08, 2012, 03:12:09 AM
I'm the same boat as you, There will be times where I will do all the right things and end up with an error or no change what so ever.  I'm not to worried though, as long as the regular Sawndz still works I'm good.

Important Edit: I'm getting really pissed on how finding jobs got so much worse than before, when it was just not having the experiences, now becomes not wanting to hire do to the fear of the economy for next year!

So this through me in a depressed state for a while until I used my birthday money to buy a Bartholomew Kuma hat and the newest FUNImation One Piece DVD which ends at the arrival to Water 7 and the new Harvest Moon 3D game for the 3DS. I bought the One Piece stuff 3 days after the election and the Harvest Moon game 6 days after that.  But once I started the game, nothing Brawl hack related ever moved from that point.

I did a tiny bit of a start in doing some of the PSA stuff with the Roy and Seph. thing, but through the beginning part of the PSA editing I ended up just breaking down and deleted everything and made new copies of the files to start over again, I tried moving towards the bigger projects with the smaller ones.

Apparently I placed my focus on Harvest Moon 3D: A new beginning or (ANB) of the time being.  I probably need to re-figure out how I'm going to go back and approach the projects again.  I'll get to the hacks, I always do at some point.

Here is an estimated progress of the hacks before all the crap hit the fan in my head;

Sanji JP: 37%

Majority of it is whatever the 4kids attack phrases, converted to the official japanese name of the attacks, damages and deaths, sleep and dizzy, swim, passive, no taunts, no victory taunts.

Luffy JP: 0% haven't started

Roy sfx: 0% starting over

Marth sfx: 0% starting over

Shion sfx: 0% haven't started

I'm going to take it one at a time this time.  at this time, I'm also going to add in my Harvest moon stuff under my 3DS FC in case I get others here who also have the game, PM me if you want to add me or if you did. Smiley

Hmmm, well it seems that there are still some bugs and small glitches in supersawndz.  I know I ran into the same problem with the wiimote sfx, and this was with the old hex files with the older Sawndz versions.  I had to do a complete overhaul with my sounds since they weren't working.  I think I will stick with the regular Sawndz.
85  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Music & SFX / Re: Reaver Industry [SFX Hack Emporium] Wolverine finished for now, moving on.... on: November 07, 2012, 01:09:38 AM
I wish I could give you a helpful comment on this, but I really haven't been successfully capable of using supersawndz, I usually use it to see if I am in the Red in some characters.  It won't allow me to replace sounds for some reason, and I have all the files needed for it to work but it won't work for me.

Well MandoWolfe may be able to help since he was able to get supersawndz to work for him.  I'll try some sfx through supersawndz to get a better understanding and figure out a way to get it to work for me since I really don't have the money to get a windows 7 upgrade to be compatible with Smashbox.

no problem.  I glad I could help. Smiley

For Audacity, goto "Effect" at the top and select "Amplify".  Then move the meter thingy or type in the top little box. "5.0" or what ever number you feel that the clip should be.

Fixed for you.

The frequency is only to just make the wav clip smaller so that it won't break the sound bank in the sound.brsar file.  You would have to raise the volume in the audio editing program to make the voices loud.  I really can't tell what voice clips would be loud when I edit them, my trick in determining the volume of a sound is having headphones on, ripping the original character voices that your replacing and throw into a audio editing program and listening to them.

There's a good chance that the voices are going to be really loud, ear splitting loud.  So this is my main objective in the sound clips, bump up the volume +3 or +5 from the original clip.  An example would be this clip I used for Wolverine's Jump voice:

http://www.mediafire.com/?g1mj33gcylc07jx

This is a file that consists of two wav samples that I used for Wolverine's "jump01".  One is "Before" the edit and the other is "After" the volume edit.

This is where the original volume would be.  The circle at the top is where the volumes limit is and where it stops.  Its in the yellow so its fairly loud.

This is where the edited clips volume is.  The sound is practically spiking off the charts, but it was necessary for it to be so it could be heard.

If I kept the original volume, then I would be dealing with your problem.  So from the original character clip, hear it several times, probably not best if you used headphones since it is painful.  Then raise the volume of the replacing clip either +3 for screaming like deaths or meteor deaths, +5 for normal sounding clips or in some rare cases, +7 if the sound clip is really quiet.

There will be times where you may have to go back and fix the volume, sometimes it may come out as too loud, My Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Roll Sfx is a perfect example of being too loud for the character and the game.  But I never went back to fix it because I wanted to move on and requests needed to be done.  Edit the sound to what seems loud to you, then add +1 to it for extra measures.

I hope this helps, Oh and I can't seem to get super sawndz to work for some reason, so I just use my laptop to open smashbox to preview the sounds and use my desktop to do all the work.  Also, the Sfx IDs I have is only meant for Smashbox so I tend to follow that more than the IDs that Super Sawndz gives me.

Alright, I'll place your request in the OP and I might be able to just rip some sfx from a sawnd file that already has Roy's voices and sfx.  I'm sure Thany released something with Roy's voice and sfx, that alone is good enough.

I tried my hand at importing models, a custom model I used with pieces of Arc Rise Fantasia characters.  I kept trying for about 20 times as what the number of scenes I got and I still can't fix it the way I want to be.  I think that models are not my strong side, I feel more comfortable with audio hacks. Sad

I deeply apologize to all who I repeatedly annoyed with my requests in importing models, This is a real time consuming task and I am sorry.

Edit: Stopped hacking for a while, playing PSO2.

Edit edit: Finally got my hands on the Japanese version of Arc Rise Fantasia and considering making Japanese voice hacks of the ARF characters.  I know some people hates the english cast.  This at least gives me an excuse to go into the ISO and rip a certain someones texture that was cut from the English release.  Awesome Face
