Honestly, I think he's a bit too bg headed and bulky. King Koopa had a rather...round shape to him, as opposed to Bowser's more burly shape. Maybe if you puffed out his gut a bit, slimmed his extremities, and shrank the head a little, you'd be in pretty good shape.

I love all of you and I want all of you to continue spreading love as I have loved you.  Im srs here

Thank you kind sir. Though this was never intended to be a 1:1 recreation of Hyrule Warriors Link but more or a Warriors' inspired Alt. This honestly started out as me trying to make a Smash 4 inspired alt, then I played around with the scarf and it kind of snowballed from there.

But if someone wants to redo his hair and release a "True Hyrule Warriors Link" they can go right ahead.

*IS REALLY TEMPTED TO TAKE YOU UP ON THIS*

gotta love these times when a critique becomes a drama

Again, the words "critique" and "criticism" are being thrown around pretty liberally in this topic. Allow me to demonstrate a proper critique.

Soon... ish.

Very nice work, Nano and Beyond! It's coming along well, and it's accurate to the source material. I'm personally a stickler for accuracy, so in my eyes, the hair could use a little bit of work, as the part seems a little wide--though that could also easily be the angle. The textures look wonderful, and you can really see all of the extra bits and pieces from Hyrule Warriors Link's design here. I would also suggest a more saturated variant to match the palette of Hyrule Warriors to be included with this. Perhaps a Dark Link as well?

On a separate note, I'm just going to ask once more if anyone is good with making texture maps from scratch. I've made a topic about it in the Model Requests, but we all know how often people go and check that place.

It's not that LC lacks manners so much as it is that he has a great distaste for people who say things like that. To him it shows arrogance and some other rather unsavory words in other people.
That's still no excuse for rudeness, and just because he has a low tolerance for those kinds of people doe not give him the right to make snide remarks like he did. There's a time and a place for everything, and LC needs to learn where those comment belong, and when to keep his mouth shut.

This is a place for constructive criticism, not for backhanded insults.

You realize it's physically impossible to send you a PM with your name like that?

what about the facial markings; like in your profile pic?
That's texture work. Which I'd love to get started on when the model is mapped.

Welp I'm an idjit. You can't see it in the image I just showed, but I forgot to give her a binding for her braid. I'll fix that soon enough....probably tomorrow if I'm not too swept up in Hyrule Warriors.

And lo and behold, she be done.

I'm going to run through my design sketches and make sure I didn't miss anything like the forgetful dongus that I am, but if anyone would like to volunteer to map it and/or rig it? If you get me the unwrapped texture maps, I'll gladly make the textures myself, it's just the actual mapping and rigging that are my roadblocks.

Also, we're at about 10.7k for Polys when I convert everything to Editable Mesh. Considering Zelda is somewhere in the 9k range, I feel I've done fairly well. Can someone that knows what they're talking about back up my pride here?

I got bored in English today, so I doodled up a concept of how I'm doing the new hair and how the map should likely be handled.

Based on what I have now, I might be a tad off base from the image I have, but I also didn't draw it whti the constraints I have in 3DS Max.

The trick of this is going to be converting my technique for drawing her hair from 2-D into 3-D.

It's actually the chin size--I made it too long in my initial edit.

I know that it's the only thing currently available, but I kinda wish the avatar wasn't the reference point here. It's old as heck. Majora is supposed to have a longer, thinner face, like that of a woman in her 30s. I just made her chin too pointed and long here.

It's funny because it was brought to my attention by a friend who said she looked related to "Dorito-Faced Sempai-San." Go look it up, but I can see where she came from.

Also, I'm going to re do the bangs entirely today. Given what I'm trying to do won't look so good once textures are applied, I think it'd be best to just start from scratch--or at least with the roots.
56  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: September 24, 2014, 03:40:58 PM
I'm aware, and I'll try to cut down a few extra polys if I can I know where I can save a few, and considering that all that's left is the head, I don't see this going over 10k--in editable poly, anyway.

Like I said I'm going to d my best to cut down on things.

Edit: So uh, I was a dumb and left Samus's hair in there as a reference point when I counted the polys, and it was causing the count to go up by at least 1k.

Edit Edit: Here's a hair update. Might need some finagling but the hair is a flat surface at the moment. Thrw in some transparent tips and it'll look beautiful I'm sure. Mapping might be  bit tricky in that region though....not totally sure.

The roots of the bangs and the bangs themselves should be separate elements if I did everything rightt....

OH hey look more progress

Oh so I have loads of room to work with, then. Thanks fr that. I think I'll probably go take a nap, eat some food, then hopefully finish this tonight.

...anyone here good at mapping?
58  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: September 24, 2014, 11:16:58 AM
7.584. I feel I've been roughly in the safe zone with it. Or am I completely wrong?

It's also worth noting that a lot of the custom objects are in Editable Poly, not Editable Mesh at the moment.

Edit: Knocked it down to 7,286 by removing some sections that won't be visible. And after bringing it to Editable Mesh, it has roughly 9.4k. But that's without her hair and such...so...good or bad?
59  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Model Imports / Re: WIP Workshop on: September 23, 2014, 11:01:53 PM

Been hammerin away at the forge tonight to make these bad boys. Crescent moon was a bit of a [censored] but I worked it out.

And now I've also finished the boots--just in time for the end of my shift here at work.

What remains now is...

Hair/Braid
Bangs
Circlet
Eyes

After that, it should be ready for mapping, unless I'm miraculously forgetting something.

Just make it easy on yourself and model it like Marth's....
I don't think you understand

She has the crazy bangs and the braid

I can do the braid pretty easily though tbh. Heck I can probably do it all pretty easily, the trick wll just be making it work with ZSS's nape.
