1  Help & Tutorials / Help / Problem setting up PMEX on: May 12, 2023, 08:33:56 AM
I'm having trouble setting up the PMEX Remix hack found here: http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=217920

So I'm basically trying to play this on my Wii via the disc method, since I don't really have a flash/hard drive on hand. I got rid of the "smash_ce_usb_loader" folder as instructed, but upon loading the hack, after the disc loads, it just crashes and gives me some type of screen with a bunch of numbers & letters (sorry I don't feel like going out of my way to get a picture/screenshot unless it is necessary).

If it matters, I'm using a 256gb microSD card with an SD card adapter & it is formatted to FAT32.

REPLACING MODELS FOR PORT HACKS

The title may be confusing so I'll cut to the chase: I'm using the Dr. Mario over Olimar port but I really don't like the models or the colors and there's no recolors for the port. Luckily, I found some Dr. Mario recolors (for Mario's slot) and I know how to replace the newer models to the Olimar port and I will be explaining how to do this.

I'm not sure if this was already explained but I'll do it anyway. Also, this can work for other port mods (unless if it states that only certain models will work).

I'll be using the Dr. Mario over Olimar port for this tutorial. This is the model I don't like and will be changing.

I will be replacing this old model with a newer one using Doc Mario's recolor pack.

Link:http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=215199

STEP 1: LOCATING YOUR FILE AND OPENING IT IN BRAWLBOX

Since my port is over Olimar, our files are in X:/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter/pikmin

Open BrawlBox and then open FitPikmin00.pac (or .pcs, your choice. Although it is recommended you do both.)

ModelData[0] = Mario's Model
TextureData[0] = Mario's Textures

Before we go any further, we want to export the model and textures we have now, just incase it doesn't work or we want to revert back to the original changes.

Make a new folder and export ModelData[0] in there by right-clicking on it and clicking "Export"
Do the same thing for TextureData[0].

STEP 2: IMPORTING THE NEW MODEL AND TEXTURE

Note how some textures are renamed differently. This doesn't matter, as long as you import the models and textures correctly.

Make another new folder and export the ModelData[0] and TextureData[0] of the new model you're going to use.

After you're done exporting everything, go back to the original file and right click on ModelData[0] and hit Replace (or you can use Ctrl+R)

Go to the folder where you exported the new model and texture and find the new ModelData[0]

Go to TextureData[0] and do the same thing. After you do that you're finished! Save the file.
For all the costumes, do the exact same thing and save.

MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS WITH BOTH THE .PAC AND .PCS FILES

As stated above, after you finish everything, you will put this in X:/private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter/pikmin

STEP 3: TESTING IT IN-GAME

After you save everything on your SD card you're ready to play! All you have to do is select the character, pick a stage and you're all set!

And here's the results:

It worked! The original color is the new model and the other color is the original model we replaced.

That's all you have to do. Happy modding!

Edit 8/15/18: I only changed the first slot but I plan on replacing all the other slots at a later time. I just discovered that with the new model and the old model in-game, everything works until you do a grab attack, as the old model goes all over the place. To avoid this I suggest replacing all slots.
3  Help & Tutorials / Help / I have a very important issue and I would appreciate assistance on: September 10, 2013, 05:07:34 AM
Hello guys, whenever I have an info.pac on my SD Card it seems to freeze (on Gecko AND on BeyondRiivolution).

I want to make this as simple as possible, so here's the point, whenever I modify the info.pac and put it in the info2 folder, it seems to give me a black screen after the "Now Loading" Screen, but whenever I DON'T have it in there, it will work fine. I really want to have Battle Names, so can anyone help please.
4  Help & Tutorials / Help / Renaming .pac/pcs files on: September 07, 2013, 01:39:00 PM
Hello again. I was wondering if Brawl would freeze if I renamed a FitFighter00.pac/pcs file to FitFighterDark.pac/pcs

For example, I wanted to fight Goku's shadow in SSE, would it freeze if I renamed FitPit00.pac/pcs to FitPitDark.pac/pcs?
5  Help & Tutorials / Help / Hacks for SSE on: September 07, 2013, 12:33:31 PM
Hello guys. I had a set of hacks downloaded from here and me and my brother were playing SSE for a while. Then I remember that Thany's Roy hack had FitRoyDark.pac/.pcs file in order for it to work and not freeze in SSE when you're at the part where you have to fight a character's shadow and defeat all of them to get to Tabuu. I was in the process of editing hacks and port them over to their FitDark.pac/.pcs file. And I wanted to play the whole SSE without having to take out my SD card or having to replace the model and textures over the character FitDark.pac/pcs file.

Too Long, Didn't Read: Will SSBB freeze if I don't have a FitDark.pac/pcs file over an imported hack that has a PSA (Ex. ShadowKong, Silver V2, Goten over Fox, Trunks over Falco, Naruto over GameWatch, Goku over Pit, etc.)?
6  Help & Tutorials / Help / Getting Brawl Hacks in SSBB for Dolphin on: September 03, 2013, 02:44:15 PM
I know I may sound like a complete n00b, but is there anyway to have a faster process to get Brawl Hacks into Dolphin? I know there is a SD Card tutorial but after I few times it stopped working for me, and it can't save?

To make it short, is there any other way to get Brawl Hacks for Dolphin without having to use WiiScrubber?
7  Help & Tutorials / Texture and Portrait Tutorials / Easy Texture Hacking Tutorial (Using Photoshop CS5) on: August 15, 2013, 06:09:48 PM
Hello, I've seen Texture hacking Tutorials with GIMP, but not Photoshop. So if you don't have GIMP but have Photoshop (Or if you have both but just want to use Photoshop) you came to the right place!

WHAT U NEED:

Photoshop CS5 (or higher)

Step 1: Open BrawlBox

Step 2: Open your .Pac/.Pcs file (In this Tutorial I will be using Kirby)

If done right, BrawlBox should look like this:

Step 3: Now let's get to business! Part 1
Now what you will want to do is click that "+" symbol next to "TextureData[0]" as shown in the pic below

Now do the same for "Textures(NW4R)"

Now your BrawlBox program should look like this:

Now click on a texture (I will be editing PlyKirby5KEye.1). When you click on a texture, your BrawlBox should now show you a preview as shown in the picture below.

Now right click on it and Select "Export" and save it in a folder where you will remember.

Now open up the exported texture in photoshop.

Now edit your texture as you please. (Please note that YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE YOUR TEXTURE EXACTLY LIKE MINE AS THE PIC IS ONLY AN EXAMPLE)

When you are finished, save it in the same format you exported it (ex: if you exported the texture as a .png in BrawlBox, save it as a .png) and go back to BrawlBox.

Step 4: Importing the textures and saving the file.
In BrawlBox, now left-click on the texture you edited and press Ctrl+R on your keyboard. If done right, this window should show up.

Double-click on it and this window should show up.

Click "Okay". And BrawlBox should now look like this.

You might be thinking "FINALLY! I can test out my hack in Brawl now!"

Well, sorry rustle your jimmies pal, but if you want to do that go ahead, just realize that you're going to start over again. Anyways, before you save, you need to make sure that you didn't mess up, in order to do this, you will need to preview the model.

THIS PART IS IMPORTANT IF YOU WANT YOUR TEXTURE TO LOOK LIKE HOW YOU WANT IT TO BE! SO YOU NEED TO PAY ATTENTION!

Now in BrawlBox, expand ModelData[0] by double-clicking or clicking the "+" sign next to it.

Now click on "FitKirby00" and it should show the model preview.

If it suits your needs. You can go save by going in File>Save and saving in a folder.

CONGRULATIONS! You have done your first Brawl texture hack.
