That would be neat, though masamune has also expressed interest in importing it. You should probably contact him if you decide you really want to try importing it, too.
Well shoot, because I kind of already started sizing it and everything.
That said, I also found out that the model in KFD is very likely squashed on the Z-axis. The upper platform allows far more room in the game than it would if it were perfectly cylindrical, like your model is. I'm kinda stuck between going for realism and keeping your model the way it is, or squashing your model to closer mimic how the stage works in KFD. What's your opinion on that, Peardian? Also, one-star CPUs in KFD are dumb, because I just sit on the upper platform in Butter Building and the CPU Sword Kirby has not been able to touch me since.
So, Kirby Fighters Deluxe came out, and I couldn't resist trying to recreate one of its new stages:
This is not one of my usual creations, nor was it even really planned. Because this is mainly a recreation, it is not specifically designed for use in Brawl, so it may require adjustments. I'm posting it here anyway since I figure someone here will want it.
So you'd optimize this sword for me but I'd have to wait a week? Sounds good but I did a little optimizing myself and I don't think it will look as good as yours when you're done with it. (The handle almost looks like crap) Would you like me to give you the files now?
And I should keep my own thoughts to my damn self as they only lead me to trouble, heh. No wonder I've been having a helluva lot trouble finding motivation to work on hacks lately or at a faster pace.
Nah, don't worry about it. I think he just likes to call out things in the most blunt way possible. Never be ashamed of asking a legitimate question.
Am I dumb... (no, I'm not) Btw you wouldn't happen to know anyone that can optimize this sword for less polygons would you? I suck when it comes to optimization...
Honestly I doubt many people know what that kind of sword is called. As far as I know, a ninjato is actually fictional and wasn't used back in the day, as any Japanese swords like that used in the feudal eras were curved.
As for optimization, I probably could. A sword probably wouldn't give me any trouble. However, I wouldn't get around to it anytime soon, so you'd probably have to wait a week before I even started on it.
That's coming along pretty nicely. If you want to use the Bronze Sword that I posted a while back in the Custom Models thread, feel free to ask (it's not textured, though). Though it's pretty simple to make.
Regardless, I look forward to seeing that on the Vault.
I haven't a clue how to UV Map the short sword + sheathe on his waist that he'll never use TBH. Might just look at how Marth does it.
I'd go with planar maps, even for the grip, since the sword is more flat than cylindrical. Although that depends on how you want to texture the grip—if it's a simple horizontal-stripe pattern, a planar map would be fine, but if you're going for a spiral or something fancy, cylindrical would be better. You could also probably just texture half of it and mirror/overlap the UVs like Brawl does 100 times over.
Not sure if I'll use this for Brawl or not but this would require its own PSA.
I swear, it's on the tip of my brain, but I just can't recall who this is. Looks really familiar, though. Ohh, it's Bayonetta. Remembered just before I posted.
That it is, good sir. (: Based more on the Awakening look rather than the SSB4 look (though there isn't much difference aside from the pommel). Might texture it, or I might just leave that to someone else who wants to, after I finish the UVs.
It's the Brycen-Jet from Pokémon Black 2 / White 2. Never heard of it? It's pretty obscure, since it's one of the later movie props in PokéStar Studios. I actually started this shortly after starting on Antasma, working on it sporadically. Maybe that's part of why Antasma took so long...
Riolu Girl will defeat you, Brycen-Man! D8< *uses Endure*
(Things got weird after that...)
But awesome model, Peardian! You've captured it nicely. I honestly haven't played much B2/W2. But if there is one thing I have done to death, it was the movies. And getting all the weird endings.
Well, the smaller, simpler one was made a while ago on another night, purely out of a single, six-sided cylinder. This time I spent a couple hours making one with a bit more detail, where the grip/pommel, guard, and blade are separate objects. It seems I have thing for swords.
Can I do Sully over Bowser? That'd be a fun challenge plus help with my Bowser rigging skills.
Have just marathoned a ton of Fire Emblem Awakening over the past few days, I totally thought this was referring to the first Cavalier in that game and was wondering how I missed her in this thread.
