Hm...another problem has arisen. I installed a second character hack, and it works completely fine, but now the "random" button isn't showing. I made sure there were no errors in the code, so I don't know what's going on. Here's the last line of the custom CSS code: 0A23193F40290000 The bold represents the new characters. As one can see, the random selection (29) is nestled comfortably against the second new character, so why isn't it showing?
Yep. If you change that, you have to give the character a FitCharacterResult.pac, which many characters don't use or have. If it starts as none, it's best to keep it as none. In fact, it's probably better to not touch Entry or Final, either.
Yep, that was the problem. Thanks for the help, guys.
after so many hours of tinkering and dealing with this, I FINALLY got it to work! The only problem is that it freezes with no beep when I win/lose a match with a clone character, so that means one match is the end. Still, at least I'm finally finished screwing around with all this.
Yes, I'm using the correct file replacement code, but I haven't heard of this pack. I'm gonna check it out, then get back to this and say if it helped me out.
Welp, I tried out AS1nk's pack, but after copypasting the exact files I needed into the SD card and finally, FINALLY seeing icons other than extra random icons, I chose a match with Roy and Waluigi and went to the stage select screen. Then, after hovering over a few stages, the game froze. So I found that I didn't take out my previous info_en.pac files and took them all out, then I doublechecked the SD card to make sure there was not a single point in there were a crash could happen. Loaded up brawl, and it crashed right before the character selection screen. At this point, I'm just about done and trying to tinker around with this thing, seeing if I can find a workaround myself. Thanks for the help, to those who helped me out, but at this point I have absolutely no clue as to how I can fix this.
No one has gotten it to work properly on Riivo, yet. As for Gecko, you are using the correct File Replacement code, right? 3.5.1b
Actually, I have a better question: Have you tried using ASF1nk's pack?
Yes, I'm using the correct file replacement code, but I haven't heard of this pack. I'm gonna check it out, then get back to this and say if it helped me out.
When loading through Gecko, did you go into the config and change the hook type to Axnextframe? A lot of people forget to do that and end up with the freezing random icons.
Yep, and it still didn't work. I have no idea what's going wrong. Just so you guys know, on riivo I only used the CSS code and on gecko I used file replacement and CSS code. I didn't use any others.
OK, at this point I have absolutely NO IDEA at what's wrong, but I'm so close to giving up. I tried both riivolution AND gecko to clone Mario, and every single time all I got was a second random slot that froze the game. I checked to make sure the core files were there, I redid the whole creation, there's not a single step I overlooked or missed. Is BrawlEx just refusing to load? Do I need some new code that allows BrawlEx to load?
It'd be cool for his final smash to be something like turning into his true form and moving to the back of the stage, then holding up a bunch of antasmunchies, throwing them after moving around a bit, and causing them to explode like when he does it in the fight with him. Kind of like Snake's final smash...except more rage-inducing. hehehe...
I've been having trouble with my riivolution as of late. I'm using brawl mod launcher 2.5.1, the one that launches Brawl+ 7.0 gold and Project M demo-r3872. I've tried to replace my entire project M folder with the 3.0 version, but that made me stuck in the infamous perpetual stage loading screen that I've already been having trouble with. The problem is almost certainly the .XML file, but I don't want to mess up all my other codesets. Might one of you be able to supply me with the needed XML (or XMLs if for some reason I also need a new SSBBtemplate one) that do almost the same thing, but support the latest version of Project M and if possible the other codesets?
Here's a layout of where the files go, in case anyone is still confused: Brawlmods folder at the root In the brawlmods folder are folders that are named like this: bbrawl brawlminus brawlplus custom1 custom2 custom3 fixedbrawl movesets movies music projectm ssbbod stages textures trollbrawl ubrawl Again, any and all help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
P.S. I heard there's a brawl mod launcher 2.9. I can't find it anywhere, and I'm not even sure if there's a "latest version" of this brawl mod launcher. Can someone better informed than me tell me if it exists, what it supports, and if possible provide a download link to it?
Hello to all. Less than a week ago I posted a topic here asking for help on .rels and how to use them. I thought I was done when I got the answer I needed, but I've come up with another problem. I put the Dark Mario hack over Wolf, and after a bit of guiding and tweaking everything worked just fine...at least, that's what I thought. The hack loaded just fine in training mode, no glitches or anything. But when I tried to load a stage in a regular brawl match, one of two things happened:
-The stage was stuck perpetually loading, as though I could press the home button and the menu would come up the stage would just never load -The game would freeze
I still haven't found out the problem. I tried using a fitmarioentry over wolf, renaming it and all, but it still didn't work. However, I ported the Dark Link hack over Marth and that works just fine. The only difference is that Marth's hack has a final smash .pac (fit____final.pac), and I know for a fact that that's not the issue because I was able to use both final smashes with no problem in training. No guide I find helps, and I have no idea what's going wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Ok, what the heck? For some reason now the hack isn't even working on training! Seriously, I have no idea what's going on.
EDIT 2: Likely last edit before I fix the problem. I replaced the .rel and the training issue was fixed, but this time when I selected a stage it gave me a loud beep. That's not all, as when I tried to use the Dark Link hack against Link and used the side-B, the game gave an even louder beep. Probably due to issues with two different types of gale boomerangs on the screen at once, but still a pretty big issue especially if it was that loud. Again, any help would be appreciated.
