In my opinion, paint.net is the easiest and probably the best program to edit stage textures. That's what I use after all :p

Yeah I'mma go redo the logo thing. I'm also having a hard time with making the flowers vanilla/beige but I could make them charcoal instead.

If hue doesn't work, try transparent recoloring. Grab the pallet found in the op and extract the beige color using the color picker tool in the paint.net, create a second layer to the texture you are editing.

Then go to the colors windows and expand "more", go to transparency-alpha and lower the transparency (the level of it its dependent of you). look at the top toolbar, see that search thingy that says "solid color"? well next to it you see a line and a half full chemistry bottle, empty that bottle (ovewrite).

Click the rectangle select tool and make a square on the second layer to a flower, then Click the paint bucket tool and begin coloring the second layer, since the're is nothing on the second layer, the whole thing will receive an  orange layer. If it looks wrong, tweak the transparency level and try again.Once you are done repeat to the rest of the flowers and then erase any imperfection (try zooming in).

Finally, merge the layers and done!

It all may seem complicated at first, but its actually quite easy. Hue is great and all, but it has a defect and that is, if the color is black/grey/white, it cannot transform it. Transparency layer is the solution for this problem, and I use it all the time. Hope this helped!
I should write a tutorial for this with pictures and everything...

Okay, thoughts on the mango falls so far?

You made a great start with orange sky! That could help you start with recoloring, if I may recommend, this stage has like a sunset feel now, so giving any green color a sight orange hue might make it blend nicely with the sky. I'll be careful with the logo though, the last time I tried adding the team's logo on poke s2, the light made it look way too yellow, so play close attention the the lighting.

And thats pretty much it.... you made a great start.

If you guys gonna do a team color stage texture can't it be something other then pokemon stadium 2? Minty/mirage already did that stage. I think project mango could be better suited for stages like rumble falls/kongo jungle 64/delphino plaza. Just saying.

Actually, I was the one who did the Minty and Mirage stages, I wanna include the most ideas I can because I am planning something big in relation to pokemon stadium 2. Those two stages you mentioned are just teases for something bigger. That is why I am surfing the forums for ideas, I need many of them.

Looks really nice!

No prob. I mjust wrote my own logo just to use as reference coloring the stage and to see how light affects orange.

I wanna ask something,

Due to college I am not able to create complicated stages any more. So that is why I'm making simple ones for now, I plan to create different versions of Pokemon Stadium 2 dedicated for all the recolor projects, and with project mango, this makes six. Many believe that I'm just spamming the same stage over and over again with a slight color change, but once I finished, I will delete all and make only one bundle. Including links to the necessary threads... (please ignore the minty stadium, its not finished yet)

This will be easy since I copied  the pallette in the OP, so mistakes will be minnimal. All I need is approval to stamp the name of the project "Project Mango" to the stage and to mention that I will credit all in general. Loving these textures so far, keep it up Cheesy

Edit:
863  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: Project Mirage [The Project M inspired recolor tread] on: August 26, 2013, 03:25:14 PM
I think the original FD is better for project mirage. and change the background.

Thanks for the feedback! I personally believed that I wasn't gonna receive any, I'll delete this mirage tomorrow, since I personally was not satisfied at all with the results... and I'm quite embarrassed of myself of making this abomination. (yes, this is my least favorite hack) and now that it was pointed out that I do not need to plaster the pm textures on the stage, this will be less limited.

However, I received permission to recolor one of Xenozoa425's final destinations into a dark purple. I believe a dark purple sky mixed with the original FD colors and patterns is good enough, and unlike before, I'm going to devote time on this stage, extracting the Zelda colors as base and, for the first time, I'll use Photoshop. I really would like  bit more feedback next time :\
864  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: Project Mirage [The Project M inspired recolor tread] on: August 26, 2013, 05:45:34 AM
hmm... I believe I shall wait with my stages until the official color palette is posted here, I find it difficult to decor a stage without knowing the correct coloring. Besides, Characters here are on a higher priority than stages, so I'll wait until there is some progress.

I understood what Xenozoa425 said, I believe I might start recoloring my first character ever. Charizard. I saw and played as Maritime, Minty and Mars Charizard to get the main idea. I don't know how character recolor works, but if the same principle of making stages, I got it covered. And since they mentioned that Zelda was spot on, I will use her as my guide through coloring until the pallet is posted.
865  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Interface Misc. / Re: Custom Geko backgrounds and Strap Menus [TEMPLATES!] on: August 25, 2013, 10:17:59 PM
I have a question...

I've tried to use a couple of these, but they froze at the loading screen. Can they only be used with Project M or can they be used with vBrawl?

Well, currently, yes. But I'll update alternatives for vBrawl users using the same backgrounds, since I just recently discovered that vBrawl isn't compatible with the pm strap. (hence the reason I made pm specific straps)

I'll will take matters eventually and give out the straps with the animated backgrounds to boot.

The alt will be darker violet!

I went through alot of trial and error for Mirage Squirtle since this is the first time I've ever textured his model, but it's been going better than I thought it would. Before I upload it I'd like yalls opinion and or suggestions though. So here is Mirage Squirtel:

Even if haven't created any character myself to know how this works y saw many examples of what mirage is... (I realized that is not pink, its purple). What I recommend is that you may wanna try darken that white color a lot, try some dark violet or blue violet mix, making the eyes yellow or blue to balance it out, as we know turtles compositions, paint the lower shell somewhat blue so it can rhyme with Squirtle dark violet skin and if its possible, use a project m design found in the OP for its shell (how about the grid texture found in the strap menu?).

Another thing you can do is to use the mirage Bowser palette to get an idea of what mirage recolor is, it may work for Squirtle since, well, turtles.

See how white is used mainly for details but not for the full body?

I like the idea so far, its pretty fresh. Good luck!
868  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: Project Mirage [The Project M inspired recolor tread] on: August 25, 2013, 02:45:24 PM
The Mirage Destination is almost complete, only the base area is left for some project m texturing.

So technically, I'll make two versions again, Light and Dark. And just in case, I used one of Mew2k's Melee final destinations as base. (I really like calm and relaxed backgrounds)

Edit: It seems I cannot change the base of the base of the stage (nope there is no typo there), since the colors will always be a shade of grey, the color black causes the animations to look weird and the designs to look textureless. What I haven't tried however is to change the texture pattern, perhaps a grid pattern is in order. I'll have the two stages ready by tonight... I think.

One cool thing that might come good as well is to make a Mirage Final Destination

I see what you did there ...
870  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Character Vertexes and Textures / Re: Project Mirage [The Project M inspired recolor tread] on: August 24, 2013, 02:57:39 PM
You can post it as an alt. to the original. This one is perfect in my opinion!

I updated the download, this stage and its SSP's are within the download now.

Looks better... be better wit more dark violet

I tried adding  this shade of violet in the other areas of the stage, but it glitches thanks to the unique lightning of said stage. When I changed said lightning of the stage, even slightly, some textures turned black while others turned white. Leaving the light alone, but recolor the textures does nothing, the colors will be a faded look of blue or black. I experimented alot, but I never sorted out the problem, instead I was greeted with a horrid scene or the lovely buzzing sound.

Stages:
Pokemon Stadium 2

There's a slight spoiler error there Tongue

Thanks for your feedbacks and letting me help you guys out with your own stage, I certainly learned alot  Laugh. I'll stick around watching your progress, and who knows, I might be able to give you more stages to show your colors with  Kirby Dance
