ok so if you havent noticed.. im currently putting my projects (notably abaddon v3) on hold as the standards for me to release my hack require random animations.. which ive come to the conclusion that in order to do that would require editing the .REL file.. which atm is currently reduced to hex editing, which i have practically no knowledge of.
so i suppose this is a matter of waiting till either the hacking community makes an editor (most likely scenario), learn how to hex (lolno), or simply move on to another hack (might happen)
either way, that little wall there smashed into my gravy train.. im not quite as enthused as i was when i came back.. which is a shame. however my thoughts still trail back to brawl hacking now and again. so im sure its just a matter of time before im at it again. =3
RAGE!! : Awarded to users who have in their Vault a year-old hack with less than 10 downloads. (Does not apply to music hacks.)
yeah but this one is easier to get and makes me lol more
also it feels more relevant to the actual attempt at hacking too cause its like "people almost cared about it but not quite" and its a lolzy way of awarding that.
i swear if this award gets made and i obtain it, it would be delicious irony. xP
seriously though, a full year without 10 downloads is a stretch, but im sure its been done.
Hi everyone. I've not said it here, so I'm doing it now. I'm on vacation right now and I can barely answer to the PMs, so if you need my help and you get no response, know that this is the reason. I'll be back in like 3 weeks.
have fun vacationing! you didnt say where you are vacationing at though!
if you happen to be in florida lemme know, i have sage advice lol
There are maybe 2 options for this: 1 - You didn't correctly set up your songs in My Music. 2 - You have the same songs on the hacked musics.
We could add maybe add a third option, which would be PM messing with the songs because of the codes. But I highly doubt about that one.
i think Project M does have some custom music codes.. im pretty sure theres a code that lets the music fade out if the game idles for more than a few minutes.
in the collisions ive added some invisible walls that allow for better recovery in project m, you wont fox flash right under the stage unless you truly missed it.
ive also got a tumblr now if anyone wants to follow me there! =3
Well, I got a WIP stage using static Norfair lava. When I get back to work on it, I'll give a closer look to all the editable stuff, but for the moment what I've done is modifying the bone structure of the lava model. That way, the stage forces the main bone to be moved, but it's unlinked to the rest of the model, and burning collisions are attached to certain bones at a lower level. So, it's a matter of having 2 main bones, being the first of them completely unlinked to the rest.
Maybe there's STDT stuff that can make it not move at all, that's what I still need to test. Once tested I'll post my findings if any. But for the moment you can just do the bones thing.
wait STDT stuff!?!? what is STDT!? im out of the loop!! T_T
oh but speaking of norfair's lava... my currently in progress stage looks perfectly fine in vanilla brawl..
but when used on project melee...
well for some reason i cant show you with a screenshot, ill need you to look at it on your own wii unfortunately..
again, perfectly fine on Vbrawl.. im pretty sure it has to do with the fact that the background is a monster hunter import and is constructed with an animation maybe?
Heya Mewtwo! I actually had the idea of working on a Pac Man stage too! I basically took the layout of SSB4's Pac Man stage and re-purposed 75m's hazards to get working ghosts and fruit. Here's a "proof of concept" video if you'd like to take a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-t0rfVK72UA&feature=youtu.be
While I normally wouldn't make a preview for something that is as unpolished as this, I'm probably not going to continue making it anyway. You're already working on a a fantastic-looking Pac Man stage, so mine would just be redundant.
Just thought I would share just in case you wanted to use this idea or something similar
I agree with mewtwo, while it is kind of rough like you said, im really liking the progress so far! the layout of the platforms is unique and the way the ghosts come in and out is neat too. it just needs some detail work to make it look good! =P
like if you could have something like mewtwo is working on in teh background, then have the ghosts follow it like a rail track, it might look cleaner.
but again, i agree with mewtwo, its your version and you should definitely keep working on it!
remember guys.. this is the "first preview", hes not done with it yet lol
as far as my own thoughts go, i love how you respawn inside of the ghost box.. thats a nice touch xP
also how do you get it to pulse the different colors like that!??! i gotta know! =3
either way it makes a nice touch to such a large stage with not much in it atm.. but im sure that might change. =P
but yes the stage is pretty large and bordered all around.. and the only spot you can KO at is the redirect areas? yeah something might have to change.
you could go with a scrolling stage like FPS megaman said.. but nobody really likes those stages very much.. however it would be a new thing if it only scrolled up and down since i dont think any other stage does that. =P
you could also remove the outside border of the stage, making the stage only platforms.. but im not sure what that would be like to play either..
if only we knew how nintendo was making smash 4's version. :/
Feelin like a brawl of Galactic proportions? Then clearly this stage is for you. Inspired by the final battle in the anime "Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann"
..now someone go make a falcon punch collision video.."
LOTS OF IMAGES TO CHOOSE FROM!
credit goes to Mewtwo 2000 for advice as well as the video if/when it is made, and BSTRMason for his music files. =3
