Sothe/Michaia has always been a favorite of mine for zelda/sheik. Gardevoire and Gallade are also quite fitting.

as for samus/zss...   Edward/Alphones from Full metal alchemist was always funny to me

Well, figured I could show this off since it's so far into the first leg of the modeling process.

Unsmoothed.

Smooth preview.

Ah Biospark, One of my favorite Kirby enemies and technically the first model I ever made.

Is he going over metaknight? If he is, I'd highly recomend using MKs gloves with maybe a few vertex tweaks if you feel it's too similar. It'll really help out with the rig quality.

Good start on the model, there isn't much too him though. Most of the work is gonna be in the texture.

Not much I can critique about it in it's current state. Except for the tri-count, make sure you delete the backfacing parts on the mask and the front facing parts of the face underneath. The scarf part could stand to lose some rows of vertices where it bunches up. maybe have ~3 rows instead of the ~9 it has now and then have it branch out into more rows where the folds are.

Other than that keep up the good work.

I'm probably a bit biased though since I was part of the PM team for awhile but whatever, I'm a smash fan. 64 is fun, Melee is fun, Brawl is fun and PM is fun.

No there probably isn't that many people who will refuse to play anything but 100% melee falco BUT trying to persuade meleeheads into even trying out PM is a hard task to accomplish. If they see that any aspect of their characters have changed I don't think they would take the game seriously enough to pick it up. They'll probably see the game as casual-trash. Making the top ~4 carbon copies will cover a big portion of the meleehead's mains since like 90% of their community (probably) uses the top tiers.

Yeah I think the rest of the cast was made to be enjoyed by both casual and competitive players but they needed means of getting meleeheads to even consider picking up the game. I'd imagine it'd be impossible to sell to them otherwise.

For me it's just a compromise. Sure I'd love to have a cool new falco or some new marth moves but who cares, I get to play solo squirtle with a down special! there's enough new content for me to play the game that I don't mind a few melee clones.

I think getting as many competitive players into PM as possible is a justifiable goal since IMO they are gonna be way more loyal in the long run. I feel a LOT of casuals are just gonna drop PM all together when a new smash bros game comes out (like most casual melee players did when brawl came out) Don't get me wrong I love me some smash64/melee every now and again but Smash4 will be the default.

You thinking it's a fact is just your opinion.

Also can we all just appreciate this comment for a moment?

So wait, what's the argument here?  Why was Falco re-cloned to mimic his role in melee and not other characters from that game?
Alienating casual players?  Stricltly catering to Tourney[censored]s?

If every character was given a toon link/wolf/lucario revamp, wouldn't that be 100% alienating tourney[censored]s and strictly catering to casual players? Since they would be getting 0 characters from their beloved melee, giving them no reason (in their minds) to migrate over or even try out PM?

I mean yeah, if you JUST look at falco, it's completely 1 sided. Only caring about what one portion of the community thinks the character should be but in the grand scheme of things he's only 1 character. Maybe a mish-mosh of 100% melee and revamps isn't the best way to give something to everyone but I do think it's the only way in this case.

I think the way they handled this project was pretty acceptable. There are compromises for both casual and competitive players. Meleeheads get their what? 4-ish/41 carbon-copy melee characters and casual players also get a bunch of new [censored] to muk around with.

In a game where the initial goal was to recreate melee falco in brawl, I'd say the project bloomed into something that surpringly gave a lot of *new* things for casual payers.

also fyi i'd like to classify myslef as a casual if it's at all relevant.

Just looked at project M's new alt costumes. And when I saw your avatar I went straight to MK. Did you use my mask and wings as a base? If so, I'm glad I could be part of that masterpiece. That's got to be the coolest MK skin I've seen so far. Great work. I'm assuming you were involved, since you are like the importer for project M and stuff

Just wanted to give credit where credit is due since there really isn't a credit/callab option when making things for Project M.

If it wasn't already obvious I used http://forums.kc-mm.com/Gallery/BrawlView.php?Number=32150 to make the butterfly MK that's in PM right now.

Probably wouldn't of turned out nearly as well if it wasn't for the already fantastic model made by Iwvi and Flygon <3 Good job guys and thanks for letting me use it.
