811  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Sephiroth PSA/Moveset (Marth) on: August 22, 2010, 04:27:20 PM
Thanks. I have no experience with PSA stuff so I'm not actually sure what is possible and what isn't. Hopefully that idea can work Smiley.

Really? That's disappointing. Can you make it controllable like Zelda's Forward B? If not, I guess, you can just make it shoot straight then.

If you haven't already, check out my post on bottom of the front page in the spoiler tag. All of my ideas are there.

I think Ruin would work well if it acted kind of like Samus' homing missle. The difference is that it looks like a white energy shine (with a glowing white trail) instead of a missle.

She shoots a few of them in this video. The first one is at about 1:35

If Octoslash is the move that I think it is (the one where he says "Cut...Vanish" in Dissidia, I was thinking that would be his forward smash. It's pretty much the same move he does in the gif I showed in Kingdom hearts.

Here's the video I'm talking about. The move is the one where his sword glow is purple.

That's a good idea. I think I'll try that.

I'd love to help out in any way that I can. I've never done animation or PSA stuff so I don't know how useful I'd be in that department though. Although, I am a College graduate with a bachelor's degree in Digital Media (which includes 3d animation) so I might be of some use Smiley.

I think we can just give him less knockback than most characters. I was thinking he could have a tip sweetspot like Marth so he could suck at really close range and have to keep his opponents at a distance. Zero Suit Samus has crazy range and she managed to not be broken.

Thanks for the responses, but I tried looking at UV tutorials and they are confusing me.  :'( Do you think if I uploaded  my file, someone could do this for me? I imagine it would be an easy fix, for someone who knows what they are doing. Here's some pics to better show what I need.

It's fine if we make a few changes. I'm always up for suggestions if anybody has any better ideas. If we do, I would prefer them to be moves that Sephiroth actually does (or at least looks like something he would do). You should watch the Sephiroth battle from Advent children to get a good feel for his fighting style. You can also easily find youtube clips of his fights in video games (like Kingdom Hearts and Crisis Core). He's a bit deranged so maybe some of his movements could reflect on that. These videos might help a bit:

(sorry a music video was all I could find on Youtube.)

(this one's kind of old so it might not help as much)

There are a lot more videos if you wanted to go look yourself, but these should help give a general idea.

So then it can be done, eh? Does anyone actually know exactly how to do it? I'm afraid I don't know a thing about this UV mapping.
821  Help & Tutorials / Help / Re: Asymetrical textures on: August 21, 2010, 03:52:24 PM
Actually, Zero Suit Samus' entire body from the neck down uses all one texture. So does that mean this will not work? Sad
822  Help & Tutorials / Help / Asymetrical textures on: August 21, 2010, 01:58:57 PM
Okay, just wondering if this is possible or not. For my Eclair vertex/texture, I'd like for her to only have her black sock thing on one leg.

As far as I know, this can't be achieved through the texture file, since both legs read from the same area. However, might there be any way in 3ds Max to make one of her legs look only at her upper leg area of the texture (the part after the sock ends) so that it would stretch that area to cover all the way down on just that one leg? Again, I'm new to this hacking business, so I don't really know how this all works.

[EDIT]

Just finished my Haruhi Suzumiya texture, and it needs the same treatment. She's only supposed to have an arm band on her left arm.

How would porting Marth over Link work? I'm asking because I wanted to make a Xemnas (Cocopuff is already working on a PSA over LInk) but I want to be able to use that and Sephiroth at the same time. I'm trying to vertex Link into Xemnas but I think Marth would be much easier and better looking.

Wow that was fast  Smiley. That's great news that it only takes up one slot. Wouldn't that make using Diddy really weird since he would have Sephiroth's animations (would that stretch out his bones)?
825  Super Smash Bros. Brawl Hacking / Attacks and Animations / Re: Sephiroth PSA/Moveset (Marth) on: August 21, 2010, 10:48:05 AM
Can you port characters over others without causing game breaking glitches? If you can, does that take up all of the outfits for Diddy or just one?
